"We pre booked our table 2 weeks in advanced. On arrival 1 hour before our booking we had an email to say our reservation had been cancelled. I rang through to the Plaza reception who transferred me to the Atrio restaurant, they apologised and said the table was still available. We arrived with myself and my 3 daughters to a sofa and very low table and two cosy sofa chairs. not really appropriate for dinner), we ordered our meal drinks, the was busy with people who seem to be stood around us. My Daughter ordered the pizza from the main menu. When she started to eat the pizza, a piece of chicken was sat underneath a slice!! We called over the waitress who kindly apologised and we had to sit and wait for another pizza. By this time my other two daughters had finished their meal. To which they only being 7 9 yrs old had to sit on the floor. Even though the service charge was waived. It was still an unpleasant experience with finding a piece of chicken underneath the margarita pizza and reserving a dinner table for 4 on advance only to be taken to a casual sofa. When there were other people sat on laptops not eating on actual tables. The service was very slow but only 2 staff on duty plus a manager. Who didn’t even come over personally to apologise. Other than that the Park county plaza hotel was lovely ."

"A comfortable manor house, set in attractively laid out gardens. The estate is surrounded with open fields. There is ample parking and places to sit outside. The food is good, but not outstanding. We had a pleasant 3-course lunch with soft drinks for £40 per person."

"we had a fabulous meal for our last night of vacation. the dishes were brilliant, very tasteful and timely served. I have to recommend the bubbly gay, never have I eaten so soft bubbly gay that could be cut with a spoon, it literally melted in her mouth. I also had the lobster tortellini, who was a nice dish, full of taste. my only slight nniggles were that the door to the kitchen constantly crows and banished as waiters in/out who could do with the dissolving, and it took some time that we are served our drinks, but as I said, the evening was still nice. would return."

"We were very disappointed with our visit to the Honest Lawyer. We could have complained but didn't want to spoil our evening. It was felt the staff were very inexperienced, the food was tasteless and bland; definitely not the usual food we have eaten here before. The ambiance of the place felt different than before and we really didn't feel welcome. We were a party of 6. 4 of us had the duck and 2 the cod. The duck was very tough and not cooked quite enough, oozing with blood. The cod dish was tasteless and bland. The picture on Facebook of the duck dish was nothing like the dish we were served; we were short of vegetables. It didn't taste like duck but of blood. We would advise using a little more seasoning and ensure the food tastes good before being served. The crushed potatoes were horrible and definitely no seasoning added. All we can say is; the issues are probably caused through badly trained staff and shortages of skilled and experienced hospitality staff probably due to Covid and Brexit. We appreciate that the hospitality industry has been badly affected but it was poor vale for money and not a good experience. Very sad to say we wont be back."

"If you're a follower of my posts, you know I'm not afraid to travel for a good meal London is my menu and I fully intended to taste everything on it but as the saying goes, there's no place like home and the comforts of your favourite local. We all have one; a favourite cafe, restaurant or more commonly, a pub. My happy place is The Dolphin located at the foot of Sydenham high street a real find in an area which is in the midst of a gentrification takeover. It basically has everything a boy could ask for; a good selection of beers (bottled and on tap , wine and also some pretty top notch food. In the winter, it's warm and welcoming providing some much needed relief from the bitter cold but a switch in the season affords you the opportunity to enjoy its sizeable beer garden which is one of the best I’ve seen in my 6 years of pub crawling (and I have done a lot of crawling... . Were this pub located more centrally to the City, I've no doubt it'd get much more attention but as it is, I will happily let this little gem of the south be and just sit back in bliss and enjoy watching time pass me by.
