"We were given a £60 voucher as a couple's Christmas gift so travelled from Reading to Covent Garden especially. The voucher didn't work at the online shop (no one got back to me about that unfortunately when I enquired . We were not seated to a table and sat at the counter beside the staff prep area. We knew in advance that the voucher wouldn't go far, the average table was spending £120 for some cheese and a 110ml glass of fizz (125ml is the standard . We didn't want to exceed the voucher as had the expense of travel etc. We spent £63 on one raclette and three baked camembert (no drinks! and we weren't blown away nor did we think it was anything exceptional. The staff seemed incompetent, there were only 9-10 tables of 2 people (sometimes 4 and they had 4 staff. Bare in mind there's not much to prepare as most are charcuterie boards, I didn't understand their state of panic other than that the staff were inexperienced. When we came to pay we were kind of accused of having used the voucher (he mixed ours up with someone else's , my husband looked at the printout and said his name wasn't Alex as shown under recipient name. No apology came and customer service is not this guy's forte (he appeared to be the restaurant manager . Shame about this experience, as I wanted to enjoy it and it wasn't nice to the family member who gifted it to us! I won't be returning especially as the menu didn't have the choice I expected and the service was bad at best! They couldn't cut bread either and they couldn't serve people coming into buy bread (one person only bought bread and another champagne! . It astonishing when the place is small and it's not like they're serving complex dishes! The rest of my time in London was fab, so not all was lost!"
