"I'm not a local and I leave loads of reviews right around the whole of the UK. Anyway had the misfortune of langstane chippy last week!!! Never ever again but..... The Donian was superb....5 star all round. I arrived just after they closed but met the owner at the shop back door....I asked if he was closed and he said no problem I'll make anything for you.....fish supper it was then. Tasted fantastic, perfectly cooked and nice guy too.....a well deserved 5 star review. I've not tried others apart from langstane Donian but Donian is like a 5 star hotel compared to langstane who basically got a one sentence review along with a grudged 1 star. Definitely be back at Donian again. Cheers"

"First made a reservation at 7pm was there in time but wasn’t seated until after got drink at bar. But that took forever when bar staff was stoned. It wasn’t even complicated. Beer on tap. Easy! Then waitress was missing the entire time after taking order. Beer gone. Went to bar myself. I’d already eaten half my food with no beverage. Still didn’t get recognized even handing in empty glass. Finally got beer to table from another waiter. Waitress had tude from here and had to ask another waiter for check. Sad that the bartender brought the check. Awful experience!!!! Food was bland. Staff was young and incompetent."

"What can I say...cheese...cheese and more cheese! Amazing food, beer battered curds with the sriracha sauce just makes you feel dirty...cheese shouldn't be allowed to taste that good! Rest of the menu is just as much of a delight and the cocktail menu, which although limited (at the moment) is more than made up for by the quality of those on it; one of the best White Russians I've had in a long time. Staff couldn't be more friendly and efficient.A great dining experience, highly recommended."

"A few months ago, we made a reservation at this restaurant based on recommendations from friends. We visited for Sunday lunch, which consisted of a carvery. For my starter, I ordered a soup which unfortunately had a plastic lid from a store-bought soup added to it. The soup was flavorless and the lid was not ideal for my teeth. Despite this, no apology was given. We were instructed to wait until our table was called for the carvery, and we found the quality of the food to be lacking. The ambiance of the restaurant was very average."

"The service was not great, with a waiter who lacked customer service skills and avoided eye contact. However, we still received what we wanted. The noise level upstairs was too loud for those sitting downstairs. The food portions and prices were good. The wings were tasty, though not gourmet. The hot dog was not recommended due to poor quality bun and fake cheese. The chicken steak was okay, but a bit chewy and could use some sauce. The menu advertises 'condiments' but they are actually just on the table. The atmosphere was a bit gloomy and the tables were not cleaned from previous customers. However, the prices were decent, with lunch options starting from £3.90. Overall, the restaurant exceeded expectations and I would return in the future. It seems that most customers prefer takeaway options rather than dining in."

"This is our second time dining here while staying at a nearby Premier Inn. During our first visit, I enjoyed the best tuna Niçoise salad I've had outside of France, while my husband savored some delicious ribs. This time, we tried the Sunday roast, which was also outstanding. My husband was particularly impressed by their extensive selection of beers, and the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere make it a wonderful place to relax. If we lived in the area, this would surely be our local spot."
