"The food was excellent, but it was odd that we had to order poppadoms by the portion. We were served by a new waitress who was very helpful in suggesting a curry similar to a Madras. Will definitely visit again when in the area. The curry house is great and the best in the Torbay area."

"Celebrated our anniversary at Hawthorns. Ambience very nice and relaxed as were the staff, who were very friendly and chatty. Food was very good, although I wasn't fussy about some combinations of flavours or textures on my main course. We were delighted when our waiter presented us with a plate with Happy Anniversary written on it accompanied by some very tasty sweet treats and two unexpected celebratory glasses of prosecco. After the meal we were invited to either but take coffee in the lounge seats or stay at our table. All in all a very pleasant evening and glad we had our any anniversary meal there."
