"The service was friendly and attentive. I was shown to my table and presented with a menu. I ordered pappdoms and a pickle tray. The four pickles were tasty. Cobra and Kingfisher were on draft. I ordered a pint of Cobra but it tasted off so I asked for Kingfisher instead. I was not charged for the Cobra as the waiter agreed it was off. I ordered the Lamb Biryani which came with yogurt raita or curry sauce. It was spicy and the portion was large. My bill came to £17 which I thought was reasonable."

"Worst take away.. Easily the worst food i've ever tasted. When it arrived after booking it through the website) it was were midly warm with the meat inside utterly cold. I know it not just down to the delivery taking ages as the chicken was pink in places The Green chilli pakora which I was looking forward to most came, cold, soggy and not hot hot hot' in the slightest as advertised I heated some of the other dishes up at home but quality wise it was just poor. "We were looking for a short notice booking. We were lucky enough to find Sangam quite quickly on Trip Advisor. The restaurant is bright and welcoming, from the bright colorful décor and the smiles on the faces of the staff. The experience didn't stop...there, because the food mirrored the surroundings, fresh, tasty and more- ish.! Would recommend this restaurant for sure as would my partner brother and his wife."

"Food was amazingly good , very delicious . As for the atmosphere too loud need to yell at each other and we were a group of 5 which made it not very convenient. When food arrived wasnt even sure i got the right order due to over loud background noise (talking from over customers over loud music bad combo) at least music you can ontrol the volume which they didn't done. "After a few years, I am pleased to say that the food quality at this restaurant is still quite good. I give it a full mark for consistency. The menu offers a simple mix of traditional favorites and specialty dishes. We tried the fried fish tendon and were not disappointed. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable, given the current circumstances. Overall, we left satisfied and felt that our money was well spent. I would definitely recommend this place to those looking for a change from the usual Punjabi or Dosa dishes. Keep in mind that the seating is limited, so it might be a good idea to call ahead on busy days."

"This neighborhood cafe is a hidden gem! My family recently moved to the area and stumbled upon this place. I'm now envious that every parade of shops doesn't have a spot like this. I wish I had this cafe at the end of my street, I would definitely become a regular. The decor is casual and welcoming without being messy. They offer a great selection of sandwiches, which can be toasted as well. The coffee is excellent and reasonably priced. The cakes looked tempting, so I'll definitely have to go back to try them."

"We ate at Joy in Ashtead, as a party of 6 on Saturday evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff were very kind, polite and attentive and the food was delicious! The portions are large and good value for money. The tables, seating and general restaurant decor is of good quality and the facilities are very clean and accessible! I wouldn't hesitate to bring a group here again for a celebratory meal, or just as a couple for a good evening meal."

"The food was good, but a bit expensive for the portions. You don't have secondary dishes if you want some vegetables to order a main quantity to get something. No high chair for children. Service was okay, but definitely not great. They made a mistake with the order despite repeating twice. When the food arrived and an article was missing, they said we didn't order it. We asked ourselves again (and it came fast, what was great) but we were for both that we received, and those that we ordered and not received. Luckily we have carefully examined our invoice and received a refund for double payment."

"We made a reservation for Friday afternoon for Lunch and upon arrival found restaurent was closed . To our luck chef Deepak Dhami was there and he ensured that our date was saved . He opened the restaurent for us , made us comfortable , played lovely Music , Poured us some wine and took our order . He personally served us the food on table and to my surprise every single dish was amazing we tried Tandoori chicken , Tawa fry fish, Chilli chicken , Lamb roganjosh with chilli and garlic naan . We were so impressed by food , service and th chef’s gesture . He is an amazing guy . We will certainly visit again .Thanks Deepak for giving us the experience and saving our date . Archana Anish"

"The food is great but giving it one star for the service, the waiter serving us made us feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. Not too sure if he had a bad day at home but if I am paying a premier price for the food in an otherwise grim looming restaurant I expect basic courtesy from the staff, good food is not enough. We were told our table was booked after 9PM and will need to leave by 845PM. While ordering desert at 8PM he started looking at his watch. On asking the portion sizes for ordering the right amount the answer was a plain and rude “I can’t tell you that”. It was a very odd experience and I am certainly not stepping foot in that restaurant again. All in all, my experience was bad due to one bad egg, if you are reading this I would say the food was really good and I had been there before, but that certainly was my last trip."

"We booked a children’s party here for ten kids through groupon. Booking wasn’t very straightforward as the member of staff didn’t know what we were talking about. We never received any confirmation of booking either. Once we got there we were shown the tables available...for us and the two bowling lanes. We were the only customers in the place so having ten kids for a party should of been easy. First off the constant nagging from the female member of staff put a real damper on the day. Kids are noisy,they run around bearing in mind it’s a kids party. This member of staff was at my side every five minutes complaining about one thing or another. The bowling alley wasn’t great,at one stage the ball actually rolled back up the alley. The food is unlimited on the groupon with pasta, chips and pizza available. The kids were hungry and ate well but we didn’t need anymore food. There were a few left over slices of pizza which I offered to the adults. The female member of staff actually took the pizza out of my mums hand saying it was for the kids,took it away and binned it. When she came to complain to me again I actually told her to leave me alone and requested the manager. There were a few complaints from us about the way the staff behaved and when I discussed this with the manager he just blamed the staff. When I explained that I’m an avid trip adviser reviewer he tried to bribe me with a free game if I gave a good review. It’s a great deal on the face of it but it was a total nightmare. I even opened a tab and spent on top of the party cost as I know the business doesn’t make a profit from groupon,this included food for the adults. The male member of staff behind the bar was fantastic."

Like someone else mentioned, it has indian restaurant of the year emblazoned outside. ummm, lies! there is no way this is true i was really unimpressed with this place. we advised our waiter we only had an hour to dine, with that he basically told us what we were eating and lied about the cost (he said it was £10.90 pre threatre for starter and main. i said i didn 't want a starter but he said i would get one anyway but then added £1.50 each on bill at the end didn 't have time to argue!! ..... the portions were TINY. i will say the chicken was lovely and really well cooked but there was so little of it. i would never recommend this place to anyone."

"Group of 4 friends visited for a pre birthday treat. The food was overall nice enough though pricey! We did return one dish due to it being too salty and the waiter rectified this and charged us still. The portion sizes are small and the rice was absolutely miniature hardly enough for one person and priced at £3. I do wish I’d taken a picture to show you all. The drinks prices are also high. The ambience was nice. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or attentive and could be seen rushing around like headless chickens mostly. Do not a service charge is added to the bill. The parking was free if visiting the restaurant. Overall nice but there are better places to eat so won’t be returning."
