With a rich heritage in India dating back to the 1930's, Woodlands first opened in Maryleborne in the 80's and have expanded to Piccadilly and Hampstead since. "We were looking forward to our dinner at Woodlands in Hampstead yesterday evening after a fantastic meal in their Marylebone branch and a delicious take away from them but we so disappointed.The restaurant was totally empty which was more than strange for 8pm on a Saturday evening.They continually made errors in our order, I ordered from MY vegan menu, that they had given to me but they brought our dish with yoghurt saying I hadn 't made the order. They brought a salty Lassi after my friend asked for a mango one. My friend was very specific in asking for a mild spinach curry and was served a dish that was so hot my husband couldn 't eat it either. Then to finish off two of us asked for a Chai tea with NO sugar, well as you can imagine, it was sickly sweet. On top of all of that, they didn 't change the cutlery and at the end of the meal they left the table covered in food.The food was good, some of the dishes at least, the vegan Rogan Josh was just Jackfruit in a basic tomato sauce, I didn 't realise that was a Rogan Josh, or is it not?We didn 't pay the service and on exiting the restaurant the manager turned round and commented, "Well, you can 't please everyone "Don 't quite get that comment, were we just expected to take what we were given and pay?"

"It would have been stars across the board but for the noise level from a party of that arrived whilst we were tucking into our main course. No fault of the restaurant as business is business and recovering from the pandemic, the management and team at Sai has worked extremely hard to service the clientele…it was just the fact we needed to shout at each other to hear ourselves that knocked a star off for me. The food was exquisite, the service brilliant and we look forward to returning soon but this time we will ask if there are any large table bookings in advance"

"My visit to this restaurant after two years was a pleasant experience as the view remained the same. It was quite busy during dinner time, but we were eventually seated after a 15-20 minute wait. The restaurant has seating over three floors, so finding a spot is not difficult. We were served Poppadoms and Chutneys as soon as we sat down. For starters, we tried their signature Lamb Chops, Tandoori Chicken, and Grilled Fish, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. For mains, we ordered Kadhai Lamb, Kadhai Chicken, and Chana Masala, all of which exceeded our expectations. The Tandoori Naans were soft, fluffy, and flavorful. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant, but be prepared for a bit of a wait. The restaurant is conveniently located near Whitechapel and Aldgate East tube stations."

"Food as ever was very good but the restaurant was chaotic and so busy that it almost felt out of control-the table was dirty and the staff were run off their feet. The constant stream of delivery pick ups distracted the team from dealing with the in -restaurant customers and the net effect was disappointing. This is the first time we've had this experience at Sai and the food quality was still high. One other gripe was the inability to order side dishes of vegetables-if you want vegetables you have to order them as a main course-an odd approach."

"Nostalgia creeps in when I think of Lahore restaurant. For starters it was my first time in London and a couple of friends dragged us along to get a taste of authentic Pakistani cuisine. Be rest assured my experience was worth a wonderful memory. Its a typically close knit ambience like we have here in India therefore a more spacious seating arrangement is highly recommended. Regards the food don't give their seekh kebabs, karahi gosht, pakistani chicken biryani, karahi mix veg and peshawari naan a miss. I look forward to another visit to the UK and out here soon :"
