"I went to this restaurant for lunch yesterday and was astonished by the new prices! £15.95 for a burger is outrageous. It seems like they are trying to position themselves as a fine dining establishment now. The prices have increased across the board, but the restaurant still has a long way to go in terms of justifying these new prices. The decor and furniture are in desperate need of an update, which may explain why the place was empty. After having one drink, I decided to go to the Horse and Jockey instead, where the atmosphere and prices were much better. The food there was also good. I used to enjoy the food at the Oak, but I won't be spending my hard-earned money there until they can justify their inflated prices with a better dining experience."

"My friend ordered the four-times soy burger with Violife cheese slices, and I had the meat-free tikka masala. Both dishes were absolutely delightful! I had to check three times to make sure mine was vegan because it tasted and looked so similar to chicken—it was both a blessing and a curse. The staff was friendly, and the service was quick. There was a good selection of vegan options available, and it was great to see vegan dessert choices as well. The atmosphere was a step up from a Wetherspoons, with nice music playing and beautiful decorations throughout."

"A group of 12 of us reserved a table to watch the football, and we had a fantastic afternoon enjoying both the sports and our lunch and drinks. The service was outstanding throughout, both during the game and while dining. The table reservation process was quick and efficient, and any requests we had were addressed promptly and effectively. Overall, we were very pleased with our experience and the excellent service provided by the staff and management. I highly recommend visiting this well-managed establishment."

"As you'd expect very busy and unplanned/unbooked visitors to restaurant and pub at this time of year. Staff coped with this extremely well. Slightly disappointed that some items not available on menu but like I said this is due to the time of year. Staff always very accommodating and very friendly. Food is of good quality and priced very reasonably too. Would definitely recommend to others."

"We made a reservation for lunch, excited to try a festive menu, only to find out upon arrival that we should have pre-ordered the specific meal. This was never communicated to us, so it left us wondering how we were supposed to know. As a result, we could only choose from the standard menu, which was disappointing. However, the food was still quite good, and the staff were excellent—welcoming and friendly."

"We had our Christmas Day dinner here we were told to sit down at 3pm at 5pm we still hadn’t had our main meal the organisation of the way meals were served was terrible. We were the very last to be served , no apology was given for the long wait probably because we complained on the length of time we were waiting. When we finally got our main course the food was awful and cold the turkey was so dry It was inedible the roast potatoes resembled cardboard. By 6pm we had our dessert.. a very thin slice of Christmas pudding!! In total 3hrs to serve a set menu was a disgrace . We definitely won’t eat here again"

"I saw good reviews on the website, but the pictures made the place look more appealing than it actually is. The atmosphere is basic pub style, and the menu was so sticky that we had to peel it apart — not a pleasant experience. I ordered a lukewarm lemonade without ice, and my meal was overcooked and drenched in a sauce that tasted like it came straight out of a microwave. It felt more like something reheated in a bag than a freshly prepared dish. We were hungry, and it filled a gap, but that’s about the best thing I can say. It wasn’t too expensive, but I wouldn’t return."

"The restaurant does not offer table service, requiring customers to download an app where the menu does not match the paper menu. Many items were not available, and the payment system was unreliable, resulting in having to order at the counter. Despite being told that mac and cheese was unavailable, a friend was able to order it through the app. Overall, the service was disorganized and the food was average, arriving suspiciously quickly as if it had been reheated. Will not be returning."

"I have been coming here for years, mostly during uni and now just returning for a couple of drinks. I believe there is some new staff that have started, on the whole they are nice, how we there is one woman who is extremely rude and condescending. She became abrupt and started calling me ‘darling’ in a patronising manner. I have since returned and witnessed her to laugh at me to her with her colleagues and be once again very rude. Very good pub apart from this unprofessional and immature staff member. She has dark curly hair, looks quite young and silly."

"I am gluten-free and for the first time in years I had the cheese and leak tea, with gf chips, plus they do chicken wing starters, unusual to find this in a small pub, definitely recommend it for other foods, very good prices with meals for 2. and drink very reasonable."

"The wait for our food was quite long (50 minutes). We ordered plain chicken but received breaded chicken instead (didn't complain as we couldn't wait another 50 minutes). The hot sauce was too spicy. The baked potato was delicious. My partner had the mixed grill. The chicken and gammon were fine but the steak was not up to par, even at that price. The peas were extremely hard. Overall, the food took too long to come out considering there were very few other customers. While the prices were low, the quality of the food should still be better."

"What can I say? If you're looking for a fantastic brunch spot with great value, this is the place to be! While there are some additional charges for certain menu items or to go “premium,” the quality of the food and drinks is totally worth it. The extras really enhance the experience, making it one of the best dining outings I’ve had. The staff is absolutely fantastic and very attentive to guests' needs. You'll be spoiled for choice with both the food and cocktail selections! Give it a try; you won't regret it!"
"Additionally, the staff seemed rude and were reluctant to adjust the volume at all. I felt like I was the only person from Manchester in a bar supposedly named after the city, which was quite strange. However, it’s just a name, and it may relate to the area of Blackpool, which I'm not too familiar with. The interior wasn't very appealing; it felt a bit dark, and the TV situation left a lot to be desired. With only one small screen showing the game, the overall experience was disappointing. The unhelpful staff and poor atmosphere have led me to conclude that this bar unfortunately deserves just one star."

"Today I came to this institution in a good mood. A cute girl met me at the bar and it was very nice to talk to her. When I decided to order food, I was served by another waitress, she was displeased and showed her bad mood with all her expressions, but the worst thing that happened was that she almost cheated me for £20 and when I came to check everything again, she didn't again added £1. The situation is terrible, I will never come here again and I will not recommend it to anyone."
