"Good characterful restaurant, great food with generous portions. What makes this place though is the staff who are so friendly and welcoming. My only criticism, and it’s a small one, is that the place was a bit cold but given that we visited mid-winter and heating a place of this size must cost a fortune I can understand; perfectly forgivable as the rest of our visit was excellent. Would definitely recommend."

"The Corner House is a delightful small cafe that easily accommodates gluten-free dietary needs as a family member has celiac disease. We decided to have afternoon tea, which was quite affordable at £9.95 per person. My gluten-free version was served separately from my husband's regular one, and included a diverse assortment of sandwiches, a homemade cream scone, and two homemade cakes. This cafe may be simple, but it offers very high-quality homemade food."

"The restaurant serves breakfast and brunch during the day, and transforms into a Thai food greasy spoon in the evening. A big plus is that they offer a complimentary cookie with your coffee! (I always feel British)"

"I met a friend for lunch and reserved a table, assuming there would be at least a salad option for vegans. I asked a staff member (who appeared to be a manager) but she didn't seem to understand veganism and stated they do not cater to vegans. Despite the menu stating they can accommodate most dietary requirements, she insisted only vegetarian options were available. I asked about making the falafel burger vegan, but she was rude in her response. After checking with the kitchen, she returned and simply ignored me until I had to ask again, to which she flat out denied any modifications. The entire experience was terrible and I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. Additionally, their contact email address does not work, making the whole situation feel like a joke."
