The staff are friendly and attentive. The lunch menu is priced very competitively and we would recommend it. There’s a nice ambience in the restaurant and it’s warm and welcoming. "We went to Banana Wharf for dinner on Monday night. It was very busy , we probably waited for 45 minutes for our main course. The food was delicious. However my main course was not the one I ordered. The manager apologized several times and offered me if I would like to reorder the food. The streak was nice but had lots fat part. I didn't want to waste the food and I turned down the offer but did expect they do something for the wrong order. At the end we had a surprising discount bill. The atmosphere is very good, great view , good customer service. Definitely will go back. Love Southampton."

"We ordered our meal from a restaurant on Just Eat and were surprised by the high prices. We were also disappointed to find that when we requested no sauce on our dish, it meant there was nothing between the bread and toppings. The biggest letdown was when we received a text immediately after placing our order, informing us that it would be significantly delayed. It seems like the restaurant should have known about this beforehand. To make up for the inconvenience, we received an extra pizza that we didn't order, which was a nice gesture. The pizza was decent, even without the sauce, and the kebabs we ordered were tasty. Overall, we suggest the restaurant lower their prices and improve their delivery time estimates."

"The food menu was new and only offered limited Sunday roast options. We each ordered one, but it was disappointing to learn that there was no children's menu available. One of the parents had to leave to find food for their son at a local chippy, which was unacceptable for a family pub. After waiting about 1 hour and 30 minutes, only 4 out of 10 orders arrived, and most of them were undercooked. Despite our concerns, no staff members approached us until we started asking questions and spoke to the manager. We were informed that they had outsourced their Sunday kitchen for the first time, but by 3pm, the chef had still not arrived and amateurs or alternative help were attempting to prepare the orders. Ultimately, we were told that no further food would be served. We decided to leave and were still asked to pay for our drinks. Overall, it was a completely unacceptable experience and we will not be returning to the Paxton in the future."

"The service was excellent, and the staff was very helpful. The atmosphere was fantastic; it’s a beautiful pub! I expected the food to be more substantial. While the meals were enjoyable, I felt the prices were a bit high. We spent £235 for six people, but we only ordered two appetizers and three desserts. We also had a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for £28, along with two beers and two apple ciders, plus service charges. Overall, it was an absolutely wonderful evening, though I wish I had come home with a little more money in my pocket."

"Profoundly mediocre food, not a patch on the previous Nick's sadly. Pizza used to be great however that is no longer the case. Lacking in atmosphere and any shred of sophistication, used to be a nice place to pop in for a glass of wine, not the case any longer. Constant cheap offers are just a sign of a failing establishment. It is so far off the mark for the neighbourhood you really have to question the logic of those behind it. Gimmicky cheese wheels and unhealthy and outdated ice cream stations aimed at children are suited to out-of-town retail parks not what should be and once was a quality neighbourhood restaurant loved by locals and visitors alike. Hopefully the next revamp will come quickly and restore Nick's to the quality, more sophisticated neighbourhood restaurant it used to be. A real pity."

"The Swan is such a special pub/restaurant, always delivering great food and drinks with well judged serviced. We had lunch today (as it happened entertained by the puppy at one nearby table, and a cute toddler at another! , and the food was as good as we remember (from pre pandemic . I had the burrata and tomato salad, the other half had the pea saffron risotto. My salad was excellent (all about the quality of the ingredients , though the risotto felt a little over seasoned not nearly enough to send it back, don't get me wrong, it could just be that they use a slightly saltier stock than I use to make risotto. It was beautifully presented with grilled vine tomatoes and a handful of rocket on top much better than my risotto ..."

"A group of 6 friends and I gathered for drinks and food and had a wonderful evening at this restaurant! While there weren't a lot of vegetarian options, the dishes we ordered were fantastic.
