"Have been a customer multiple times and enjoyed the food and prior to ordering I called ahead to ask how long it would be. I was informed it would be minutes, so proceeded with my order. I called two minutes later to change the order and express concern that my confirmation text said ETA minutes. Again, I was reassured that this was incorrect and was automatic because of the roadworks outside the restaurant. mins later I called to say I still hadn't received my order. The person who answered was the same person I had spoken to earlier and asked if I wanted to cancel. I expressed my displeasure at the time taken and highlighted that I had called ahead to avoid this precise scenario. I was lied to and when explaining why I was upset he said look, do you want your delivery or not He offered no token of compensation and was abrupt and confrontational. Advised a refund wouldn't be processed as he couldn't until one of the managers was in. He later said he was one of the managers and the refund would be with me in half an hour. Shocking manner and customer service, will not be returning."

"I 'm a lover of hot curries..and I mean really,really hot curries: A Vindaloo is mild to my palate,so I thought I 'd go one step up and order a Chicken Phall from City Spice. I 'm glad to say it didn 't disappoint. The Chicken was perfectly cooked;fibrous,generous,great texture and not at all like that rubbery,watery injected stuff. (as is customary in so many Indian restaurants these days).The sauce was to die for and had the perfect pureed consistency...cooked and roasted to perfection...Thank you Chef,you have a great palate.. The meal had the taste of a true 'BIR ' (British Indian Restaurant) in the same way I remember it from the 80 's, when we used to stagger home drunk and stop at the nearest Indian restaurant on the way home. The portions are very generous too.Don 't hesitate to order from City Spice. I find that the true benchmark for any Indian restaurant/takeaway is how well they cook their hot curries...If the really hot curries are good the rest of the menu will be outstanding. I 'll definitely be a regular customer here!"

"I recently dined at this new restaurant with my wife and son and was highly pleased. The vegetable dish was fresh and crispy, the tandoori chicken was delicious, and the other dishes were also excellent. The beer was cold, the staff was very polite, and the service was quick. We will definitely be back. It's worth noting that the restaurant is only open for lunch from 12 to 2:30 daily. However, there seems to be some confusion regarding their operating hours as the menu and website may indicate otherwise."

"On the day that government extended the tier 4 areas across the country, I collected dinner from Desi only to find that all the 3 employees inside Desi had no protection whatsoever. Not even bad placed mask on the chin as many people use, not a single mask at sight. Every other take away that I have used in the last week had employees with masks as mandatory for every open business. Being a restaurant with a open door on a tier 4 area I expected much more from Desi."

"we have just begun to use the bengal brasserie after our local alam spice in fawley eating down. Fourth visit and eating was great! the best curry we ate in a very, very long time. garlic chili huh, lamb vindaloo, hot, spicy full taste and deep. not full sugar and salt like alam spice. spices also cooked well. lamb pathia is delicious. lamb very delicate and huh was also perfectly cooked, damp and tasty and not like a piece of rubber. I can't praise them enough. A nice cook. the only problem was the wobble that bahjii was crispy out there, but in the midst gay, still give them 5/5 because everything else was spot-on."

"Well firstly it was late...very late a hour and half for a takeaway, there are plenty of other establishments in gosport who deliver half the time. Secondly starters cold..not even warm or hot, nan bread solid as a rock, no mushroon rice with our order, quality of the curries, not up to there usual standard. The staff memeber who took the order should have told us there and then how long it will be rather guess and the chefs in the kitchen...bad night? new staff? who knows but as a regular customer whom the whole family enjoy the meals we had there....last night was so dissapointing especially paying that amount of money.Not going to order there again ."

"We ate in here last night. It was early and clearly although the restaurant was empty, they were busy with takeaway trade. We had the Happy Hour menu and found the food to be attractively served and really very good. The waiters were smart and...friendly, making an effort to talk to us. We don't have hearty appetites these days and regretted not being able to finish our main courses. The waiter kindly allowed us to take the leftovers and packed it up nicely for us. It was just as nice today! Good luck to a very pleasant restaurant which turns out delicious food at very reasonable prices and has such pleasant staff."

"oh my, definitiw one of if not the best curries in oxford! I had taken away several times from cafe spice and it disappointed never. large portions of absolutely delicious curry and great naan to very favorable trips means that this place cannot be missed. Today we have tried a few curries that we had not tried for a bit of variation before, and all wild cards have proved to be simply beautiful and tasty. the delivery was super fast and the food was hot when we got it. If they like curry, they have to get it here!"
