"First time trying this restaurant! It was my mums birthday and asked if there was anything they could do to make it better for her birthday . The owners had banners up, a bow on the chair and a beautiful hand written card for my mum. My mum tends to be nervous with a lot of attention on her, but this was the perfect way for her to be appreciated!! She absolutely loved it. My little siblings were presented with pictures and crayons to keep them occupied which was a lovely touch. The service was absolutely great, the food was fast and lovely. For only 50 for five of us! Will absolutely be coming back. Can’t fault this place."

"The restaurant had apparently been let down by staff not arriving and we waited an hour to be served drinks and for a food order to be taken. And that was only after chasing for a second time! It took 3 hours for our mains to arrive. Apologies were profuse and the proprietor was doing his level best to carry on. He was rushed off his feet. But it was not acceptable. They have an excellent product at Oliveta but the basics must be in place. We were ‘past’ eating by the time our food arrived."

"The worst meal I have in my entire life. Firstly, the “focaccia” on the menu is not focaccia at all. It is a thin, crispy, overcooked and dry sort of flatbread was disgusting. For the main I ordered the truffle pasta and my friend ordered the mussel pasta. Both pastas was clearly old/ not fresh as it arrived in clumps that would not separate. It was simply flavourless and bland I didn’t think it was possible for someone to mess up two portions of pasta until this meal. The wine was also foul. Was a very unpleasant meal, expensive and not worth it. Please avoid at all costs!"

"I love this restaurant, haven't been for a while, came for tea Love the new decor The meal itself was a bit of a let down , my favourites have gone off the menu. We ordered a starter to share it was fantastic 10/10 I ordered a chicken and mushroom dish as a main it was served luke warm so I asked if they could heat it up for me which the server did, I like mushrooms but I didn't like getting a mouthful of grit with every mouthful, was very disappointed) as we have eaten here many times and never had a disappointing meal before Next time I visit Bishop Stortford I will return but just not order that dish Staff were great as always"

"Very nice place located in a very nice area of Richmond. Very positive: Owners and staff were very friendly and kind people. Drinks wise, my partner and I really liked the idea of Spritz and Negroni made with the typical Sardinian spirit, Mirto, as the Vermentino white wine was nice too. We were promptly served with Aperitifs and bread and olives, which were very nice. I enjoined my starter, Calamari ripieni and the dessert which was Millefoglie sarda. Very negative: My Calamari ripieni portion, in spite of the fact I really enjoyed them, was very small. Too small, I’d say, even for a starter. My partner’s BRUSCHETTA RUSTICA. The bread wasn’t nice at all as the cherry tomatoes weren’t. The mains, we had great expectations about, left us very disappointed. I ordered fresh pappardelle chestnut pasta with lamb ragù, but in spite of the fact the lamb sauce wasn’t bad at all, the pasta was quite disappointing. The Pappardelle were basically flavourless. My partner Sea-bass pan fried with salad and potatoes didn’t taste nice either. Especially the potatoes seemed old, like if they were reheated from the day before. Shame. Because we really liked the place, the atmosphere and the people working there, but if, the overall experience about food we were served was disappointing, that makes us not coming back there ever again."

I have absolutely no criticism to make (I didn't like the desserts, but I don't like Italian desserts and can hardly blame them for being authentic! . as a pre-oper menu (especially if the opera is Italian! "Large group being catered for and we got forgotten. Took ages to collect main course left over dishes and then got ignored. After an hour gave up waiting for the pudding trolley so we just asked for the bill and left. Had no apology waiter just walked away. We weren't the only ones ignored. Kids were running around and it was generally very loud. Disappointed in the whole evening which was quite expensive. Not an ideal 50th wedding anniversary celebration. Shame in them."
