"Several of our friends had recommended this restaurant, so we made a reservation for 6:30 on a Thursday evening. Upon being seated, it was evident that the restaurant's primary focus is its takeaway business. We started off with crispy duck pancakes and spare ribs, followed by crispy beef, sizzling prawns, Szechuan chicken, Singapore noodles, and steamed rice. Unfortunately, the crispy beef arrived cold and even after being sent back to the kitchen, it returned just as cold. The Szechuan chicken was lukewarm and the Singapore noodles were tepid with limp baby sweetcorn. Despite the sizzling prawns living up to their name, the overall dining experience was disappointing. I do not plan on returning or ordering from here again in the near future. While the service was friendly and efficient, the food and atmosphere left much to be desired. Dining in a restaurant that mainly caters to takeout orders is not ideal."

"Great, in fact fantastic food. The restaurant had a very casual and relaxing feel to it, which I liked. The decor is a bit cheesy but that's the nature of the beast. Apart from us there were over 20 other patrons, all Chinese. Obviously you feel reassured of food quality if actual Chinese people are frequenting the restaurant and having a good time. If I had to picky, I'd say the main waiter, with the ear ring!, needs to cheer up a little. At least look like you enjoy the job mate...."

"I had eaten here a few times before and the food was good, however last time, I had to chase our orders and the manager came over and started shouting at me and insisted I told him whether he should sack his chef. Really unprofessional. However, last night, I thought we would go back. We arrived and were shown to a table. We ordered drinks and the same manager came over and said Im not sure when you will get your food! We asked what he meant. He said (in a very obnoxious and confrontational tone) We are very busy, what do you want me to do? Go and kick the chef? He started shouting and I simply asked if he could give me a rough idea of how long food would be. He got more angry and was shouting to the point where other diners were looking over. I tried to reason with him and said that we would wait but if he could ask the chef just to give us an idea, that would be great. His tone got even louder and he snatched our menus back from us. He said You better leave and then started on me, bringing up how I complained last time which was over 6 months ago. We were embarrased, astounded and felt so awkward. He ushered us out of the restaurant with everybody watching. We then went to Paprika Club and explained we were in a huge rush. Whilst I am a regular there, the restaurant was packed and they ensured we had a wonderful meal within 20 minutes. Been, you are an awful place and your manager is a joke. We will never return and I would urge others to steer WELL CLEAR!"

"I’ve never been so disappointed at a restaurant, and I won’t be returning. We were one of only three tables on a Saturday night, and it was easy to see why. The idea of all-you-can-eat for a set price sounded appealing, but the execution was lacking. We ordered six starters, and the ribs were tough while the spring rolls were underwhelming. When the main course arrived, one of my friends struggled to eat his dish. My chicken with spring onions and ginger was overwhelming, leaving me sweating all night and worried about feeling ill. If I had paid for this meal, I would have expressed my dissatisfaction directly to the owners, but our friends who handled the bill were just too nice."

"If you really knew what happens in this place you wouldn't wish to eat there. If your a veggie watch out the kitchen use boiled chicken water even in egg fried rice or veggie curry. The rice that get served if not used goes back into the streamer to be re served to another customer. It's as fresh as coming out freezers and packets look as you go to the small smelling toilets there a freezer on right just open it up The list goes on including there back area where staff toilet is has meat left out in open. Fridge is not stacked to how government hygiene says it should be. The owner not owners if you look it up does not care and finds it funny if someone wishes to make a comment. Service is slow and just about par but not for price you pay. Hot pot is hot s**t all from packets and been defrosted more then a couple of times for some parts of it. Yes hygiene inspector is being called and photo's will be on way."

"Our visit was for a birthday meal. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was good. We chose quite spicy dishes. The food was not piled high (thank goodness) but in reasonable sized portions. "Very relaxing experience, cute decor and a pleasant atmosphere. One thing you will notice is the hot plate in the centre of the table, which is very handy but don't touch it. :D First thing I noticed on the table were the Chopsticks. They were made from high quality bambo, very unusual design. Food portion is more than enough for an individual. The taste is lovely and rich, with friendly service. So what are you waiting for? "Just back from my lunch. I read some reviews and initially thought some people were very hard to please given the number of very good reviews written, the restaurant was established over 50 years ago, so clearly in my head, must have been doing something right!. However now fully understand where these dissatisfied customers are coming from. I eat often in restaurants -lunch and dinner, what can I say. This is probably the worst meal I've eaten, the worst service ever and given the restaurant has been here well over 50 years, quite shocked at the calibre of the food and service which was zero!. On entering the restaurant we bumped into a guy on the stairs, who we thought was a customer. . He mentioned he was going out for a cigarette, entering the restaurant we wondered if there was any staff at all, no welcome whatsoever . To our horror the guy on the stairs was the guy who served us, totally unprofessional, extremely casual and not smart at all to be a waiter. He never said a word or offered any service at all. No simple thank you or any word was uttered, basically the food was dumped on the table! The meal, absolutely awful and the not of the standard from many years ago, when I used to go to the Rendezvous. Totally disappointed as our lunch was for a special occasion. Do these restaurants learn anything from these reviews, I'm not so sure. The meal was overpriced and definitely not value for money at £14.99. We certainly won't be returning!"
