I had a table for 4 of us for prosecco and cupcakes for my birthday. for the happiness the employees left us our table and gave us a bottle of prosecco and cupcakes on the house for the inconvenience. the cupcakes were beautiful and we would definitely be back with how nice the staff was"

"I ordered the lobster roll, which consisted of four small pieces of lobster, some crushed avocado, and two or three tiny pieces of tomato with thinly sliced onion, all of which felt quite dry. There was no sauce or dill as mentioned on the menu, which gave the impression that the restaurant was cutting corners on quality. On the positive side, the strawberry tart was better and beautifully presented, but it too was very dry. I also tried two different types of cocktails, and they looked and tasted exactly the same. When I asked the bartender if he had accidentally made the same drink twice, he assured me he hadn’t, but there were just too many issues during our visit. While the restaurant's decor was stunning, the quality of the food and the service left much to be desired."

"Our time at the Fish Bar was excellent. The staff were very polite, friendly and courteous. Our food was perfectly cooked with plenty of fish in a lightly crispy batter. Presentation was good. "The small entrance door belie a much larger and welcoming interior. You can sit by a window or down in the vaulted basement which we quite liked. The Brunch menu caters for most tastes and is good value. Service is friendly and pleasant but could be a bit stretched if the restaurant was running at capacity. It has a bit of an Ivy feel about it but more accessible and affordable. Its worth seeing what the daily specials are as we`ve ended up ordering this rather than the set brunch menu. Lunch and dinner menus looked good value. Great for a birthday or Christmas outing. All in all an enjoyable way to spend some time taking the ambience in. A worthy addition to the Cowbridge food scene."

"Lunchtime Indian seemed a good idea after a good walk in the morning, rather tired surroundings but decided to give it a go since you cannot always judge the quality of the food by the surroundings, however I was quite wrong. The vegetarian platter was 2 x samosa’s and a load of onion bhajis, technically a mix but far below what you would typically expect. The salad accompanying it was obviously in mourning for the summer having passed and seemed about as depressed by the decor than we were. The mains came with all the flair of a wet flannel. Soggy rice masquerading as pilau, mains ok but tasted as if the gravy came out of a bottle. Wife liked her vegetables so some consolation. The naan seemed more like a paratha and certainly had never seen the inside of a tandoor. If you love Indian food, steer well clear, it does not taste like the chef does!"

"I have been visiting Doughnotts since it first opened in the other location. It was fantastic then, and it has only gotten better. I have also bought donuts from the stand in Beeston and several Vegan Markets. Additionally, this year, I got a giant donut...and a donut decorating kit for my birthday cake/birthday party. My favourite is the Homer Donuts, followed by the Cute Avocado with the tiny doughnut as the stone, and the Jammy Dodger ones. The vegan selection is vast and incredibly impressive I actually can't taste the difference at all between the Vegan and Non-Vegan ones. Don't think I have tried one that I don't like. They also do doughnuts for dogs (dog treats not made of pastry) which mine really enjoy, and they serve degrees coffee (which is amazing). The staff are friendly, and although I can get very nervous ordering, they have always been very patient, and helpful."

"We arrived for our 6:30 PM reservation and were greeted at the door, only to find out that they weren't serving food because the chef had already left for the night. When we questioned why they had accepted our booking, they claimed to have no knowledge of it or the OpenTable app. This was extremely disappointing behavior. Don't bother going to this restaurant."

Rather embarrassing and a poor start to the evening. I’m still not sure if the points have been applied to my account. I usually can trust the open table app without any concerns."
