"The staff at this restaurant was extremely friendly and welcoming. However, there was a significant delay between our appetizer and main course (about 1 hour). Surprisingly, another couple who arrived after us managed to eat their meal and leave before we received our main course. The staff was apologetic and explained that they were busier than usual, offering a discount on our bill for the inconvenience. Despite the wait, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely return to this restaurant."

"This was our first visit to this restaurant which is about 5 minutes walk from Chatham Station. There is a varied menu and plenty of vegetarian, fish and meat options. We had difficulty in making our choices, but the waitress made recommendations. The food was delicious and the portions were generous and it was excellent value. Staff were very friendly and the service was very good."

"The food tasted good, was hot and arrived on time. No complaints there. However, I felt that the person I spoke to on the phone lacked customer skills. I requested a substitution and the answer was a quick no, it does not come like that to which I responded that I am aware but I am requesting a substitution of equal value; Not a full portion of something else. What is the issue exactly with making this type of change? but that was answered with a simple ok, this time but not next time and when I posed the question again as to why that was a problem essentially the person was not wiling to converse and hang up. Overall not the best ordering experience. It would have been good to be given a reasonable response, particularly one that demonstrated that they care about what their customers want."

"Went for the first time as part of the Eat out to help out scheme and we already said that we will be coming back. I often just default to a chicken Korma but I was determined to try something new and chose the Haandi lamb and was very happy with it. The peshwari naan and keema rice were delicious as well. There are only a handful of tables so if you are coming from further away and want to eat here you should probably book a table in advance just in case."

"My mum has been telling to try the Bonoful for awhile but i don't go to portobello that often i think am to far for delivery Anyway last week i was in portobello with a friend i thought i can't leave with out trying Bonoful, i didn't realise the time when i got there the door was open but it was only 3:50 i asked if i could please get a takeaway the guy went through the back to ask if it was ok he came back with a yes I got a 2 main meals 2 rice 3 breads a couple of sides it came to just over £50 i thought it was going to be more the food was honestly delicious full of flavour the meat just melted in your mouth, i asked my friend what she thought of her meal she said absolutely gorgeous worth a 5 Great service, lovely staff excellent food 5 thank you from 2 happy customers."

"the bristol raj has now reopened. this was our first visit after shutting off the lock, but we were often before. first, they have deeply cleaned and removed the table cloths so that they can wipe between the customers. they wear face masks when they serve them and run a visitor's book as required by the directive. the restaurant was sadly empty and needs its support. I'm sorry that previous posters had a bad experience. honestly, apart from nutmeg in clifton, which is significantly more expensive, we find bristol raj to be the most consistent and tasteful. you just have to find your favorite and then you're in the curry sky! we had the raj murgh. yes, it did not quite meet the description and was sweet, but was full of large pieces marinated chicken breasts and had a Tamarind sauce with fenugreek finish. it has mango chutney in to thicken, not msg, and tasted beautiful. it was mild, not the 2 chili rating, but they can easily repair. the best for me is the king prawn chilli chingra murg (I think it is called). large juicy garnels, beautiful sauce loaded with finger chili, it is like a chili minenfeld! my fave. they have kingisher on tap and also have bottles of other drinks. they are also in order when they bring themselves! In summary we think that the bristol raj is far better than others before place. it is a very basic place, but the prices reflect this. they get very good quality eating and a warm welcome."

The staff are always super polite and friendly to my daughter (aged 1), the only thing i would recommend them to improve is to get a high-chair and baby changing station for the toilets as currently they don’t have these in place, so changing my daughter can be tricky and i have to bring a booster seat/table to the restaurant."

"Searched online for a nearby curry house and found this one which wasn't too far away from the Travelodge were we were staying. Rang to book a table and asked the person on the phone if we could bring our own beer with a response of yes. On arrival bit surprised of the location in a housing estate but we decided to stay. Lamb Bhuna nothing like I am used to with a strange taste but the lamb was excellent. Garlic nan not up to scratch either. During the meal the owner came over and moaned that we were drinking our own lager as they were licensed, I explained that when we booked we were told it would be ok and that he should moan at his staff not his paying customers in the middle of eating their meal. really annoyed about this. Because of his attitude and the food quality I would not reccomend this restaurant."
