"I went to the Galley because it was local to where my son lives and I was visiting with my father and another son. I ordered a starter, no one else and asked for it to be served with the main meals. It came significantly before our main meals, not sure why. But our main complaint is that when the main meals were served, it was clear that they hadn't been in the microwave for long enough. For each of us, apart from a small centre of steaming red cabbage and warm meat, everything was stone cold. The french beans in a separate dish were particularly cold, to the point I put them in my mouth and just had to take them out. Portions were a good size, the waitress was friendly enough although at the end told us that we'd been informed it was cash only, when we definitely weren't! The gents loo smelt pretty badly; the rear of the building is on the riverside, from which it was obviously accessed, but we couldn't open the door or see inside. A simple sign in the back window would have meant I wouldn't have had to climb on a picnic table to see if they were open! There was a general lack of care in the building, the food preparation and the customer service. At nearly £65 for 4 roast meals and a starter, we felt the value for money was terrible. Definitely never going again, which is a shame given my son lives within a stone's throw."
