"The dining experience was quite pleasant, though I found it to be on the expensive side. We tried the black dishes and the lamb, both of which were of excellent quality, well-prepared, and satisfying. The food was beautifully presented and freshly cooked, which was apparent. The atmosphere was lovely, and the establishment was clean and well-maintained. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. I did notice that there could be more options on the menu, but it wasn't a major issue. If you're staying at the hotel, I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Overall, it was a good experience."

"Staff member serving was extremely rude and dismissive from the get go. Ordered a meal from the menu with a price clearly stated. Asked to pay with card and he didn't say the price, asked to see the card reader and after reluctantly showing me it was 50p more than stated. When challenging this he said its 50p for card payments, reminded him this is illegal and he refused to let me pay the correct price. Abandoned my order in the end on principle. After seeing other reviews its clear they are relying on people being too drunk not to challenge the extra charges they add on. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1"

"Having booked a table for 3 a week before during the government eat out scheme, we arrived at the restaurant sharp 6.30 pm as per the booking. We were asked to wait outside and it had started raining.I was asked for the name and booking details. The staff brought the book and could not find our booking so went to ask the owner. The owner came with the book and told us someone called and cancelled our booking and she could not do anything about it. We tried to say why would we do that and she was not willing to listen. The restaurant may have cheekily cancelled our booking if they had shortage of tables. Never again shall we go there. Worst customer service.."

"Myself and my family have been to the pizza cafè on various occasions over the past 5 to 10 years. I remember going with my parents from a young age on a Saturday or Sunday as a treat and in my adulthood visiting a few times. Each time I’ve gone sadly the character and standards of the place have continued to decline. The food is average although the prices are still rising, and the service can be quite poor. The pizzas used to be a lot tastier (and bigger), it all seemed fresher, served with a smile and fairly quickly… however on my last visit after being seated me and my partner waited a good 15minutes to be asked which drinks we’d like to order in which case we had already decided what we wanted to eat and quickly ordered not knowing how much longer we’d have to wait for someone to come and take our order again. Then nearly 45mins to an hour later our food arrived! We almost walked out at one point. It wasn’t particularly busy this night either. We had slow service, the food was not worth the price, and we also seemed to be waiting a lot because of a seemingly new staff member not knowing what to do and keeping asking for advice or simply handing it over to someone else which unfortunately I think is what happened to us. I appreciate people have to learn but there should have been a better system in place for someone to help out rather than cause a disruption on a Friday night which could have been a lot busier and caused more delay. I would probably go here again but my expectations are tainted unfortunately."

"We returned to Robertsons after a previous visit 3 yrs ago , remembering how good it was we were keen to return. The decor had changed and is very nice , comfortable and colourful. Service was great , very friendly and helpful. We ordered a Mediterranean pizza and a meat feast pizza along with a side salad , everything was delicious, nice crispy base on the pizzas and plenty of toppings, we cleared our plates and will definitely be back !"

"Booked over the phone for a table for 2 on a Sunday afternoon, they happily fitted us in we arrived around 4pm to a very busy little cosy place, they seated us and then we had a little browse of the menu, we had the vagabond feast 12 pizza and a vegetarian Sunday roast with extra potatoes this along with 3 pints of poretti came to £45.50 good value for what we had and a really enjoyable Sunday lunch was had. Staff friendly, atmosphere good a lovely little place a must go in Whitehaven."

"What a fantastic pub. Went for my wifes 60 birthday for Sunday lunch, we messed them about with numbers and changed a few things. They could not have been more helpful and accomodating, the young staff were fantastic, polite, efficient and lovely, nothing was to much trouble for them, and to be fair, dealing with a lot of oldies must have been hard. The food was superb, probably the best Sunday lunch I have had in a pub, I never knew cauliflower cheese could taste so good, and the meat was cooked to perfection. If you are ever down that way, definitely not a pub to be missed."

"The service is quite poor, we were seated by a guy who was moody bearing in mind there were only about 8-9 tables full at this stage. However, the food came quickly and seemed fresh and hot aside from the Ferrero Rocher ‘freshly baked’ cake which was dry and definitely did not feel fresh. Overall the savoury dishes taste too sweet, chilli chips and veg pasta were both too sweet and definitely overpriced for the portion size. The crepe and waffles are nice but found the desserts to be too sweet and unbalanced. We’ve had better desserts elsewhere and aside for the eat out to help out I wouldn’t come back. We ordered two savoury dishes and two desserts and on a normal day would have cost £34!"

"Me and my friends visited here last Saturday evening with a view to getting food. Pizza and a drink for £9 is a good deal. We ordered and waited, and waited and waited. 70mins after the order was placed and to be told that our food would be coming out soon then we decided to leave. We tried to get a full refund but were told we would have to pay for the drinks we'd had. My reasoning for the full refund was that if we had known the food was gonna take 70+ mins to come then we would have never come in for a drink. This has put me and my friends off a place that we really did like. Will not be visiting again."

"Over the past 18 months Covid has had a massive impact on businesses so we as a family try to support locals as much as possible. Our experience here was terrible and the customer service from management was appalling. Once sat at our table we ordered food and drinks from the waitress who was lovely.The pub wasn’t particularly busy and once your order was take for food staff didn’t really come back to see if we wanted more drinks or if everything was ok with food. We only had 1 drink each because nobody came to take our order for a second round so it’s pointless going for the refill option. Myself and my daughter had soda water and blackcurrant, both the same size glass but 2 different prices on the bill. Meal portions are small for your typical pub grub. Desert arrived with the smallest amount of custard (3 tablespoons in a little pot next to the apple pie) when asked for more an extra pot was added to the bill and I don’t mind paying if there was a good amount to start off with. Be sure to check your bill because £4 for 2 children’s plastic beakers of squash is terrible when I only paid £1.45 for half a pint of soda water and blackcurrant. When we queried the bill the young lady checked with management (who refused to adjust the £4 squash charge) and instead of coming over to address the situation the manager just hid behind a counting watching from a farThe last time my sister went to this restaurant she also had to query the bill. If your like us and want to support local, your better off going to the Three blackbirds down the road for better service and friendly staff. Really disappointing overall and won’t be going back to this restaurant."
