"I and my fiancé trusted deepali with their input to ideas for the design and taste of our engagement cake. it is very knowledgeable and very trustworthy. next to the cake design amazing, the taste was so beautiful and the texture was moist. "on visiting this restaurant on Thurs Jan we arrived early (the first customers)but were shown to a table and asked if we wanted drinks , although it was early the restaurant was cold and the dÃcor was quite dull and spartan, the staff were very friendly and helpful and although there was no sharing platter on the menu one was made up for us. Now to get to the important part, this restaurant is all about the food and having travelled extensively both all over Britain and the continent this was possibly the best Indian food we have ever eaten if it was possible I would give the food stars The location is also superb being immediately opposite the Festival theatre ideal for pre theatre dinner. Our party consisted of three adults and the total cost including drinks was only which considering its location in the middle of Edinburgh was excellent. I would be happy to visit again, but if they could sort out the ambience issues and toilet I would happily have given it stars."

"the first time that I ordered from here a month ago, the food quality was good, but they forget to take drinks. they gave them back and let go. the second time I recently ordered from here, they have not only forgotten one of the articles, but the quality has completely declined. the curry wasn't as good as the first time. I will not order again unless I learn that the previous cook has returned and they commit themselves to thoroughly review their orders before they send out. the ground material."

"I took my wife (to be) here 35 years ago and we have been dozens of times since. Tonight was as if it was a different restaurant. We had to ask for menus after waiting for 15 minutes. The wine arrived half way through the starters (which were good). The main courses were mediocre, the rice and naan especially so. After staring at our plates for 20 minutes we had to ask for the bill which came with an added service charge. Kalpna had been one of the leaders in veggie food in Edinburgh, now they have a lot of catching up to do. I assume the restaurant has changed hands, or maybe they (like everyone) just had an off day. It was also difficult to be sure from the menu what was vegan and what was not. Updated from previous review on 2023-05-26"

"authentic south indian kerala eating, I can confirm because I was very clean and tidy from kerala (südliche indien,) to avoid. very friendly people. eating is really good, especially those who love spicy food. they could ask, they give them authentic food. there are many not veg and vegetarian food. Recently they have refurbished the place, looks great, so I post a few pictures with my review. these who are looking for the South Indian keerala are the place for them!"
