"Now before you all start having a go, let’s set the scene. Mother’s Day is a special day. I understand it means it will be busier than normal and therefore the service may not be the usual. But if you state you can accommodate 60 diners then you should accommodate . We booked our table weeks in advance of Mother’s Day. We did anticipate an Irish Parade happening in Manchester sonset off a bit early to adjust for it. We arrived at 11:50 and our table was booked for 12:15. We didn’t expect our table to be ready but to our surprise, it was. The table was stuck on the end barely big enough for two let alone two adults and a two year old girl. The Mother’s Day menu was presented and we ordered a starter and main as well as drinks. The length of time for them to arrive was nearly 40 minutes. The mains took another 35 minutes to arrive. Keeping a two year old happy for an hour is good enough but after this time our daughter had enough. She was hungry and restless. When the food eventually arrived, the portion of a roast beef lunch was essentially two potatoes a sprig of broccoli, a mini carrot a tiny Yorkshire pudding and a tiny piece of roast beef. We did want to have a special occasion experience but the length of time spent waiting really spoilt our meal. We don’t mind paying good money,if the food and the experience is good . To be honest this was neither good food or a good experience. It was expensive and overrated. This is sad, especially as we had read the recommendations given by Opentable. Lesson learned I guessz"

"I booked expecting quite high-end style/experience (I was thinking The Campbell NYC) but it was rather different. We arrived having booked a table, and were seated outside in a tent around a small table on astroturf next to a road, (surrounded by a few tables of dirty glasses). I was expecting a seat inside as nothing indicated otherwise when booked, so i 'd advising calling. Our server was v.friendly. Another taller server approached us after we’d been seated and made a smart comment about a box I had just put on the floor 'you can 't eat here’ she said, as if I was getting out a knife and fork! It was cold outside (they do have heaters) so I asked for a seat inside as when I went to the bathroom I noticed over six free tables, (FYI this is a hotel and the bar is a reception area so people sit with shopping bags/cases waiting to check in). When they did seat us inside (reluctantly) after requesting we wait outside whilst they checked, they proceeded to sit us in a corner next to the service counter looking behind the bar and right next to another couple when plenty of other seats were free, with only one table taken inside during our stay. At this point I was ready to go as clearly they didn’t want us there, it was sad as I was celebrating my birthday as I mentioned on my reservation. We were ready to settle down and drink a lot of cocktails that afternoon (the one I got wasn 't to my taste but 10/10 for using vegan egg) but it wasn’t to be and on reflection if I’d had checked their Instagram page I’d have avoided. Fortunately we had a reservation at The Dome and had a lovely time that evening. In terms of the clientele checking in, we did realise it wasn’t our vibe, it was kind of like Gucci belt/TOWIE place, we were casual but had just come from The Ivy where we had no issues but felt unwanted here. People appeared to be profiled as to who got a seat inside and who didn’t. This may be the perect place for you but don 't think overall we were a good match!"
