"As a frequent visitor here we booked a table here last night to bring our daughter and grandchildren out for a couple of hours, firstly we wasn’t given the high chair we asked for but we overlooked that we ordered food and drink by our server a young lad pretty cheerful but looked over worked , starters arrived which was to put it one way was well done but we ate them none the less, the kids meals arrived as he offered them to us he was using a tea towel I took the plates and they were so hot, god knows what would have happened to the kids hands if they touched them, so they had to wait for the plates to cool down before eating after what seemed an age our mains arrived my daughter said right away that my burger looked well done and dry, she was spot on It did take around 15 minutes to get our servers attention as he was running around getting to keep his tables happy, I don’t for one minute think he was to blame for any of it, by the time he did come a just told him to take it off the bill as it sort of turned me off, the table next to us had a bit of fish and chips which he returned for being over cooked I don’t know if it was overly busy or a new chef but these things shouldn’t happen and the toilets where the bins are overflowing with paper isn’t good either,it’s really needs to be looked at whether it’s low staff numbers or people who shouldn’t be in the kitchen"

"Have to be honest I'm a creature of habit and went to go to Nandos first. Could not get the tracking app to work so headed down to Harvester. From the minute we walked in the service was exceptional. They have it well organised with a one way system in place to ensure social distancing is maintained. Refillable drinks, if you choose that option are maintained throughout your visit. Unlimited salad bar is controlled well. As far as the food is concerned, fresh, hot and well portioned. Have to give a special compliment to Margo (Deputy Mgr) very friendly and welcoming throughout, ensured all patrons were looked after. Will definitely be back."

"If the door had been shut and all the staff were round the back smoking fags, I would have felt more welcome than I did tonight... I was served by a Young kid with no social skills, who didn 't even say hello and just addressed me by saying what ja wont but with an attitude of such pointed disinterest that not even Voldemort would have bothered with him. Moreover, things got even worse when, to my greater astonishment, I discovered that the pile of dripping, sticky nastiness in the middle of the room was actually the self-service area for coffee accessories. DISGUSTING!"

"I myself and two friends went there to feed. the waitress was fantastic, very efficient and friendly, and I have no complaints in this area. the starters we ordered were not available as we are the main courses. this has really distracted from all the experience when they have made that they think what they will eat and they are preparing to just say that it is not available, not even, but twice! not only that, but the FULL rack of ripening looked as if they were coming from a tiny ferkel, not as I remember! this was served with a teespoon coleslaw (I don't want) and seven chips. all in all a very disappointing experience."

"We had a fun girls' night out for dinner and a movie. Our waitress was fantastic—very cheerful and clearly passionate about her job. The menu offered some great options, and the food was delicious. We didn't have to wait long for our meals. There was a little mix-up with our drinks and the menu, but the waitress quickly resolved it by bringing us a fresh bottle of wine at no extra charge. Overall, it was a wonderful evening, and we will definitely be back for another visit soon!"

"My first impression of this restaurant was positive, as it appeared to be a nice place with friendly staff. However, during my visit I noticed that there were a lot of young children who were not very well-behaved, which disrupted the calm atmosphere I was hoping for. The food was enjoyable, although the presentation could have been better. The burger had more sauce on the plate than on the burger itself, and the chips were slightly overcooked but still edible. The apple pie I ordered was soggy and lacked apples, although the custard was tasty. For a chain like Harvester, I would expect better quality control. Overall, the meal was tasty but visually disappointing."

"It was quite busy when we arrived, it took a few minutes for the waitress to take our order, but then food wine came quite quickly. We had made a mistake in the Arancini order. The waitress took away our original order ordered us the mini Arancini, but then brought back the original dish said the manager said have them complimentary. Lovely surprise, thank you."

"Seems strange that only seven years old and yet couldn't think to put in Air conditioning at that time, must be absolute HELL working in the Kitchen especially in the Summer. Staff always cheerful professional, and go out of their way to help in any way they can, sorry to see so many leaving with so few staff it's a wonder they can open at all, yet with the the ever decreasing of staff they still mange to provide a good meal which has hardly changed in the 7 years we have been regularly loyally attending, other than the salad bar has less of a selection, baby gherkins given the heave ho so has the pickled sweet white pickled onions, no doubt next to go will be the black olives. Has an unusual selection of wildlife on view. HARVESTER THE BRAND CERTAINLY GOING DOWN HILL very quickly how much longer will it survive"

"When we entered Harvester, we had to wait several minutes at the bar before we could order drinks. We requested a table for three by the window, which we were given. Although our food took a while to arrive, I found my meal—a plate of dry pasta with three small strips of chicken—not appetizing. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to send it back. The highlight of our lunch was the service; our waiter, Dan, was very professional and occasionally quite funny. However, I don't plan on returning anytime soon."

"So where to begin ok first time for me going to this Harvester and once parked up walking to the entrance I noticed the sign hanging on the wall in need of repair and overall you can see it's not been looked after or maintained for a few years, once inside we were ushered to our table, Once sat down we were offered the menu mine had the added bonus of dried food stuck inside the menu as well as someone's hair lucky me. After ordering food and drinks we were offered to go to the salad bar and pick choices which were added to the bowls all good although the Harvester salad cart isn't anything like the Harvester of years ago Back at the table and first forkful of mixed salad I realised the fork I used had left over food welded to the prongs another surprise I wasn't expecting. Looking around and you realise this venue hasn't been maintained or cleaned properly for a very long time, dust and grease on the lampshades stains on Paint skirting boards coming away from structures and I don't think the outside seating area has seen a jetwash in the last few years. Going to the toilet! Well what can I say that's positive the hand dryer works well! So cubicle covered in graffiti tags and clearly the cleaning team don't go anywhere near the back of the toilet as it's clearly not seen a cleaning cloth mop or bleach in years! The hot water on sink 1 doesn't work and the hot water on sink 2 doesn't get hot So back to the food I ordered the mix grill with rump steak having watched someone opposite trying to cut his streak that kinda looked like boot leather I asked for medium rare hopefully it'll arrive medium, I was right to a degree it was cooked way beyond medium rare and medium in fact it was beyond well but it was edible The size of the meal is enormous but the gammon is unbelievably salty and again cooked a lot longer than necessary but again edible Overall it's very disappointing and it's not a venue I'll return to until the owners decide to update the property and show improvement to the state of the toilets and overall cleaning standard as well as repairs, The only positive I can say is the service staff do genuinely try and give you a positive and enjoyable experience it's just a shame the management owners don't give them a nice environment to work in."

"This is a good place to dine on a day out en route to Portsmouth. Excellent booking service, easy parking, a friendly welcome on arrival, prompt and attentive service, relaxed atmosphere and good food . One unfortunate hiccup with the dessert. There was an unwanted piece of wrapping paper in the Ice Cream Sundae. The waitress reported it to the kitchen and we were not charged for the desserts. Nevertheless, it is very likely that we will go there again."

"Last night at the Harvester restaurant in Crawley, I was impressed by the incredible friendliness and care shown by the employees. When an older couple dining next to us became distressed, the staff went above and beyond to help. The woman, who had recently had a stroke, was not feeling well and wanted to leave. Despite being told she couldn't go because their order wasn't ready, she insisted on leaving. The staff then decided to prepare their food as a takeout. The woman insisted on calling a taxi, but a chef came out of the kitchen and offered to personally drive her home. It was heartwarming to see such compassion and care from the staff in what was a very sad and stressful situation for the couple. Their efforts should be recognized and commended."

"The restaurant experience was very disappointing. I had booked a menu that included steak, chicken, and ribs, but only the chicken was available. There were limited options for drinks, with only a choice of coke or J20, and we were restricted to one drink each. The staff were complaining about their working hours and lack of breaks, which was not pleasant to hear. Other diners also had complaints about the food, desserts, and dirty crockery and glasses. I even saw a staff member cleaning tables while standing on the seating, without wiping it down afterwards. Overall, it was not a good dining experience."

"We used to visit Durley Dean Harvester every week, but stopped going when they changed the menu and we couldn't get what we wanted. I'm glad to say that things have vastly improved since the last time we visited, and although the staff seem to have changed a lot, the service was efficient and speedy. We visited on a 50% VIP deal, and hope that Harvester join the Tastecard scheme soon (like a lot of other chaines have recently) and we would possibly go back to visiting weekly again."

"absolutely great place and fabulous staff. we were served by elaine (apologies, if I look the wrong) who was a first-class Notch service! she had a big sniper, who was very well after us all, made sure we were happy and let us laugh a few times. she even helped make a group photo of all of us with our Christmas dinner. this place is always one of the best / favorites for a few years and it is always down great eating good prices and excellent staff. now looks better since it was renovated! (as did not have the opportunity to go with kovid and work) and some friends who could not come ask us already in group chat when the next is how they want to come now!"

"The service was extremely disappointing. We had made a reservation in advance and mentioned that it was our first time dining there, yet no one informed us about the complimentary salad bar. We were seated with our 3-year-old daughter, who didn't receive a welcome drawing for kids until we noticed other children with them and had to ask for one ourselves. When I inquired about the special, I was told there weren't any available, and just five minutes later, I saw drinks being served to another table. It was honestly very poor service. To top it off, the children's set menu was charged as individual dishes instead of a combined price. We definitely won't be returning."
