"The food at this restaurant was fantastic and the service was great, but it was a bit expensive. We paid £24 for 2 curries and a naan bread."

"Brilliant. Was up in Aberdeen, from a bit down to coast, for a hospital visit. Timed it so we could get a takeaway in the 'toon ' before heading back home with it. Did a Google search for decent curry houses in the area and came up with this place. So, first time there for us. Called from the hospital grounds at just after 4pm and was told the food would be ready in about half an hour. We headed up there, arriving a wee bit early but our order was ready. Got it back home and boy it was fantastic. Lamb Seekh Kebab and vegetarian platter (for the wife) and both were great. I then had the Prawn Bombay Flame and Keema Rice and she had Prawn Dhansak with Pilau Rice. Add a Tarka Dhall on the side and Keema and Cheese Naans, popadoms and dips etc and things were complete. The quality of the food was just fantastic and the prawns were some of the best I 've ever had in a curry. Helpings were abundant as well. I cannot fault this place. Friendly staff too and clean and tidy wee shop. This may have been our first takeaway from here but rest assured it will not be our last. Brilliant!!!! Cheers!!!"

"Walked passed this shop again a few hours after buying my son chips from here, was greeted by the sight of the man who served me washing his feet in the sinks. I therefore got up close and sneakily took a photo of this devious act. The shop was close to closing time and they thought nobody would see them doing this. Chellos was much better and fresher. 1/10 wont be coming back."

"The customer service was terrible! Mr. Singh and his staff were more like Humpty Dumpty and a group of unhelpful street kids. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant."

"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"Desi Curry Palace is the go-to spot for delicious Indian food in this part of town! After indulging in a feast fit for an army, I can confidently say that the food here is absolutely mouthwatering. If you're tired of the trendy restaurants in the area and just want a hearty, unpretentious meal, Desi is the place for you. Located on Allison Street, the exterior may seem intimidating, but the staff inside are warm and welcoming. I tried the Lamb Kashmiri Korma and South Indian Garlic Chicken, along with rice, naan, vegetable pakora, poppadoms, and spiced onions - all for a reasonable price of £14.95. The flavors of the dishes were exceptional, with the korma's creamy sweetness complementing the spiciness of the garlic chicken. The rice and naan were perfect for soaking up the delicious sauces. Despite its humble appearance, Desi is a hidden gem among the other eateries on the street. So, next time you're craving a satisfying meal, make your way to Desi Curry Palace for an unforgettable dining experience."

"This was our first visit to this restaurant which is about 5 minutes walk from Chatham Station. There is a varied menu and plenty of vegetarian, fish and meat options. We had difficulty in making our choices, but the waitress made recommendations. The food was delicious and the portions were generous and it was excellent value. Staff were very friendly and the service was very good."

"Food was delicious. I felt that the rice to share was certainly very small and we were eating from the a La carte menu. We asked for desert and a coffee they didn’t have the desert we wanted and the coffee machine was out of order. I also asked for irn bru and they didn’t have that either. Overall was a nice meal, however let down by lack of things on the menu."

"Had dinner at the Spice Merchant in Beaconsfield for a girls night out. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were all treated as royalty! The food was delicious great taste, quality, presentation and good portion sizes. The location of the restaurant is on the high street and it is huge inside with seating in the back garden area too. I could not faulty anything and definitely deserves a 5/5 rating!!!"

"i would really advise strongly against using the services of this restaurant .ive used them three times and never again. im an experienced waiter of many years standing and have never and would never give such bad service to a customer or i wouldnt have a job.my first time ordering a received a call after some time asking to come down to a car to pick up my food.i informed the driver to ring my bell(i live in a house)and bring my food to me.he then buzzed my bell and came up the stairs huffing and puffing as if i was putting him out.he obviously doesn't understand what delivery means.he was so miserable i was really worried that my food could have been maliciously interfered with.i went through the same experience twice more although i always tipped him.i went to order again and was told we dont deliver to you anymore .use uber eats and the phone was dropped twice on me.this is so shocking im enraged and words fail me that this kind of attitude happens in the uk.if your driver doesent want to deliver get on that does want to.these points have already been covered in many other reviews, very negative experience and just generally very unpleasant.thank god there many other restaurants in the area ,so i dont have to give support to such unprofessional outfits"

"Myself and my wife have been to Zayna four times during recent trips up the Chiltern line to London and it is, quite simply, fabulous. The curry is second to none in central London and as true Brummies, we know our curries . We have been, in previous visits to more expensive and well marketed Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani eateries in and around Marylebone and Fitzrovia one of which is even boasted that he unmissable hideousness of a table full of loadsamoney noisy oafs which I don’t seem to recall were part of that particular restaurant website’s sales pitch. In any case, none can touch Zayna. We had Mukhun Murgh, Aloo Gobi, and Tarka Dhaal. We accompanied our mains with the sublime garlic naan you simply must… peas pilau, and the garlic pilau chef’s kiss . So, we will keep going back. The hospitality from Shan and his staff is always one of the warmth and good humour. The cuisine is excellent. The atmosphere cosy, and the personal touches of a family run restaurant there for the keen eye to see. It’s worth it alone for the two magnificent hand carved mirrors that adorn one wall, that took one man and one chisel six months to complete. You must go."

"We ordered 6 different dishes chosen by this establishment, and I'm sorry to say that utterly appalling was our conclusion. All three of us agreed that it was all practically inedible and disgusting. I was attracted initially by the fact that Nepali dishes were served here including mojo. The momo were inedible along with almost everything else we ordered including the nan bread which was so dried out, it was like cardboard. Obviously not made on site. We are amazed this place has been in business for any length of time. The on Y acceptable food we received out of nearly £40 of different dishes was the pilau rice. Very sad to report this, we has higher expectations. Avoid this place if you like good quality food."
