"Had dinner at the Spice Merchant in Beaconsfield for a girls night out. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were all treated as royalty! The food was delicious great taste, quality, presentation and good portion sizes. The location of the restaurant is on the high street and it is huge inside with seating in the back garden area too. I could not faulty anything and definitely deserves a 5/5 rating!!!"

Wouldn’t recommend to friends. Thought food was very mediocre.

Great night at the Spice Merchant with our three boys. The food was amazing and the service was also really good. It is pricey but we will return!

the food as usual was very good albeit the lamb curry had very few pieces of meat in it for the cost. The restaurant was pretty empty so lacked usual vibe but quality and service overall was very good. View menu

The Indian restaurant is great in the evenings, but I also bring my children there early at 5pm when it's quiet, and they enjoy it as well, especially because they offer more simple dishes. It's a high-quality place more suited for adults, but they also welcome children and provide delicious options for them, even though not many kids seem to visit.

This place is amazing, the atmosphere is incredible, the service is impeccable... The afternoon tea was sensational... But I don't know if it's just been unlucky when we have been there, but 3 times in a row, the restaurant has been empty now. They have told us that later it gets busy, so it may be an us thing, but apart from that, utterly spectacular.

"Very disappointing. Our table was on the first floor via a steep narrow staircase. This is not suitable for an infirm or elderly person. The staff are welcoming and attentive. The table settings are nice. One is served with warm, somewhat hard, bread roll and butter. and a small soft roll sprinkled with parmesan, presumably an 'amuse bouche '. Everything is served with a flourish. We each had a main dish, without starter. Servings are small on large plates. My wife ordered one of two meat dishes on the menu sirloin steak which proved somewhat chewy and indifferent flavour. The alternative would have been rabbit. There were two fish dishes which would have been my choice but one with ginger to which I have an aversion which the chef apparently was unable remove. The other fish on offer was coley which is generally regarded as a cheap alternative to cod or haddock. It is used extensively in manufacture of fish fingers. The only other offering was a vegetarian dish with main ingredient of cauliflower. I often choose a vegetarian dish but this was without doubt the worst I had ever encountered. A small piece of cauliflower accompanied by other small, pretty tasteless objects that I could not identify but described as 'nori dumpling, chestnut mushroom, spring greens '. Finally, my wife chose a dark chocolate delice which she pronounced as ok but unremarkable. We have dined in restaurants of many standards worldwide and The Greyhound is both pretentious and for us, one of the worst for food."
