"We went for a dinner with friends, we ordered salt pepper corn, chilli paneer, masala Mogo, veg samosa’s which were all edible but nothing that was outstanding, but all edible and we all ate. For mains we ordered butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and naan and nothing was really outsindong, they added juts lots of chilli powder on the dal makhani but forgot to add any butter or cream! The paneer was again the same nothing shahi about it. They did offer to make it again but we didn’t want to wait around for them to make it all again. Be aware when ordering a jug of coke or drink! It’s £12 for 3 large glasses of coke whereas the the jug is £12 and only offer you 1.5 glasses of coke! So felt a bit ripped off there! But we didn’t say anything to them about it but def not worth getting the jug! Lesson learnt not sure if rush back to eat there again as nothing really stood out"

"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"This place is under new management since I was last there. I'll definitely be going more often. Had the chicken vindaloo tonight. It was really good. "Over the past 20 months, I have had the pleasure of purchasing new audio equipment from The Sound Organization. The service and advice provided to me by Matt were excellent. I recently visited their location in York to demo the new speakers, the Donator D7.2, and the Rega Planar 8 turntable. After the demo, I decided to purchase both items as well as Atacama furniture. Once everything arrived, Matt offered to come to my house in Kendal in the Lake District to install the audio equipment. This was a fantastic service that I greatly appreciated. Matt provided recommendations on speaker cables and how to set up the turntable. I will definitely be using The Sound Organization for my audio needs in the future. Thank you."

"we just finished our meal (we had a lie because the portions were generous! and it was incredible! as it is a bank holiday, delivery was fast and contactless, as desired. my man called when I'm free of milk and they were so helpful by being over the ones of my favourite dishes free of milk and finding close alternatives for others. it was without doubt the most tasty and softest beautiful lamb I've ever eaten. would definitely recommend and we will order again. "We ordered a selection of small plates to share, including the popular chicken tikka and lamb samosas. The flavors were incredible and the portion sizes were just right for a pre-theatre meal. The highlight of the evening was definitely the chicken biryani, which was fragrant and cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the butter chicken and garlic naan. Overall, our experience at Dabbawal was fantastic and we left feeling satisfied and ready to enjoy the ballet. We will definitely be returning soon."

"The food was mediocre and I didn’t feel like there was anything special about it. Just tasted like a normal curry from any high street takeaway. The seating was so tightly arranged and at times I couldn’t push my chair back to stand because the table behind me had their chairs straight up against my back. Pretty much immediately after we finished eating, we could see the staff eyeing us to leave. And we felt uncomfortable and as if we were imposing even when there was no time limit on the table."

"The restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes, covering all the expected options. The staff are very friendly and the prices are reasonable for a city center location, although they have increased recently. The restaurant recently relocated to a larger space with more seating. I would typically give it 4 stars, but my last meal was overly salty and had too much oil, which was disappointing as they are usually good. I will still give it another try and hopefully it was just a one-time issue."

"Googled closest Indian restaurant to Manchester Airport as were were picking relatives up. The Cinnamon Tree came out nearest. Booked a table online. Was very pleased with the food which was lovely. Good sized portions. Thought it was quite expensive though compared to our local Indian restaurant which is in a nicer setting and has nicer decor. The Cinnamon Tree would benefit from an update particularly the upstairs toiled facilities. Nice friendly Staff however and would go again if the occasion arose."

"we visited pepper during a short holiday break between christmas and new year. it was a quiet night to be a Wednesday, although there were a few larger groups celebrated birthdays and, although we had booked online, there were many tables to choose from. the menu contained some dishes that we had not met before. we had small but beautifully cooked and presented seafood stars. for the main course my partner chose the tandoori lammings that were plentiful and excellent. I had a royal dish that was just as delicious. there was a light mix with our order that was taken on a digital device, which led to us getting a few dishes that we had not requested! However, this was quickly sorted out, with excuses and a free supplement. a very nice meal in a beautiful restaurant."

"We booked a table for 7 for an 88th family birthday celebration. Service was appalling we waited an hour for our starters to arrive and waited again for the main course. They knew it was a special meal as we sang Happy Birthday before we ordered. The wait was so long that the main guest had to be taken home before the main meal arrived. I expressed our disappointment at the end of the meal and asked if it was always like this. I was told it was because they were very busy with deliveries of takeaway meals and they had little to say when I said, So you prioritise takeaways over diners sitting in the restaurant. PLEASE NOTE : the access to the toilets is very narrow, being partially blocked by furniture and, when you open the door to the Disabled toilet, it is used as a store room and is literally stacked to the ceiling with equipment, so is completely inaccessible. Please see attached photo. My daughter, who works with young people with severe disabilities was extremely annoyed about this, particularly as there was nothing at the front of the restaurant to say the toilet was inaccessible or even out of order. One of our party had a rollator but we were still not told at the start of the meal that there was no Disabled toilet."

"Platter for two consisted of two pieces chicken,two vegetable ,two mushroom .two haggis pakora s and 3 onion bhaji s with salad and a yellow coloured sauce. The sauce was like no other sauce I've had with panoramic and all the food was greasy and tasteless. The I had the lamb south indian garlic chilli with garlic and chilli naan bread. The lamb was horrible. Red and chewie and didn't taste nice. The naan was lovely though and honestly the only enjoyable part of the meal. Both of us had to run to the toilet after eating here. I definitely wouldn't recommend the food here."

"I am always hopful when trying a new place but this was a let down. The waiter didn't seem to know what was on the menu, or what is job was, and it was a major mission just to place our order. The noisy turbine extractor fan in the dining room sparked to life when smoke from the kitchen filled the room, doors were opened to help manage the smoke, it was not nice. The food was okay, the value was okay with the toptable deal, but without the deal forget it. The washroom experience was unplesant to say the least. Air freshener lined the wall. Chicken was defrosting unattended in a downstairs kitchen sink. Sorry but never again."

"Terrible. I never really write reviews. I go for a Curry every Friday and have been to many places in London. This place is the worst I i have ever been too. The samosas were dreadful and clearly out a freezer. The lamb vindaloo tasted like someone had got some chillies, scrapped some tomatoo puree of a homemade pizza and shoved some chicken in. The rest of the dishes were equally as bad and i could go on. The prices were a complete rip off . The waiters were extremely unfriendly and their attitude clearly mirrors the standard of the food. There are hundreds of far better places in London where you can get a cheaper meal. Truly Indian is an ananthema to the cuisine of the subcontinent!!"

"I absolutely love this place. The owner and the staff are friendly, just the kind of warmth you'd expect at an authentic Indian and Nepalese restaurant. I used to frequently visit Balti Curries even when I was a student at Falmouth University. They have a wide variety of dishes. I had the onion bhajees, momo, and the lamb tikka biryani. "This local Indian takeaway restaurant was a disappointing experience for my husband's birthday dinner. Despite pre-ordering our meal, it arrived 20 minutes early and without our main dish and side. When I contacted the restaurant, they offered to deliver the missing items in 30 minutes, but I declined as the rest of the food would have gone cold. The food that was delivered was only lukewarm, and when I asked for a refund, they refused. Overall, it was a frustrating and unsatisfactory experience, and I will not be ordering from them again."
