"The three of us shared 2 starters and 3 mains. The trio of starters was delicious, although one was a surprisingly bright green. The lamb strips were particularly impressive, served with a red-currant jelly and Indian spices. For those who enjoy a rich, slightly sweet curry, the lamb and apricot dish is a must-try. My sister's lamb practically melted off the bone, while my friend loved her creamy and flavorful New Delhi chicken. The naan bread was some of the best I've had, light and crispy, and the side of mushroom curry was also a hit. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant - as a self-proclaimed foodie, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. At £21 per person including drinks, it was a bargain for such a great dining experience."

"We went for a dinner with friends, we ordered salt pepper corn, chilli paneer, masala Mogo, veg samosa’s which were all edible but nothing that was outstanding, but all edible and we all ate. For mains we ordered butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and naan and nothing was really outsindong, they added juts lots of chilli powder on the dal makhani but forgot to add any butter or cream! The paneer was again the same nothing shahi about it. They did offer to make it again but we didn’t want to wait around for them to make it all again. Be aware when ordering a jug of coke or drink! It’s £12 for 3 large glasses of coke whereas the the jug is £12 and only offer you 1.5 glasses of coke! So felt a bit ripped off there! But we didn’t say anything to them about it but def not worth getting the jug! Lesson learnt not sure if rush back to eat there again as nothing really stood out"

"We ordered a big family meal from Priya Lounge on the 7th July for my mothers bday meal, and I must say I am very happy we chose this restaurant, the food was absolutely delicious! We had ordered about x9 mix tandoori starters which was a great choice as it came with a variety of sheesh kebabs, chicken tikka lamb tikka, for the price and the taste is was a bargain! We ordered an array of curry dishes and a couple of biryani dishes which were all cooked to perfection and really nice and authentic just like my family I like. The gentleman on the phone who took our order was called Miah and I happened to mention that it was for my mothers bday meal and when we received the order we had been given a complimentary king prawn dish for my mom as a special treat, which we really appreciated and was a nice touch. Very rare do we order asian food from takeaways as we tend to cook it at home, but I am glad we chose Priya lounge for this special occasion and hope to order from there again soon."

"The orders were mixed up at this restaurant, the salad was dry, and the cucumber looked like it was sprouting another life form (as seen in the picture). When I called to complain, I first spoke with a woman who seemed new and didn't know much, so I was transferred to another employee who was very rude. He tried to claim I was at a different address and said they always have problems with me, even though I am not at the address he mentioned. He abruptly hung up on me."

"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"Ordered a chefs special (Asian style) pizza however I received some random pizza with donner on it. Even the donner was raw and did not taste right so had to bin it. "We went out for a friend's 40th birthday dinner, and while the food was enjoyable, the service left much to be desired. We had confirmed beforehand that we could bring a cake, but although they allowed it, they refused to serve it for us. When we asked for a knife to cut the cake, the woman at the bar was incredibly rude. She claimed she didn't have a knife and would not even attempt to find one when I asked. However, when her colleague came over, he quickly found a knife right behind the bar, in the very spot where she had been standing. She seemed uninterested that she had been caught in her unhelpfulness and simply looked away. I brought this issue to the attention of the manager at the end of the evening, and he promised to address it with her, so hopefully, it’s just a case of one staff member being unprofessional."

"We were genuinely and happily stunned to enjoy this gem of a restaurant. First class fine dining, in Indian food. The food really is exceptional, beautiful, original and delicious (with a good vegan menu available). The service was second to none, attentive, polite, informative and friendly. The atmosphere and decor was soothing, quiet and done well. Our only surprise was that it wasn't already jam packed! DEFINITELY recommended, a rare treat. Notes; Spiced crab starter was sublime. "Over the past 20 months, I have had the pleasure of purchasing new audio equipment from The Sound Organization. The service and advice provided to me by Matt were excellent. I recently visited their location in York to demo the new speakers, the Donator D7.2, and the Rega Planar 8 turntable. After the demo, I decided to purchase both items as well as Atacama furniture. Once everything arrived, Matt offered to come to my house in Kendal in the Lake District to install the audio equipment. This was a fantastic service that I greatly appreciated. Matt provided recommendations on speaker cables and how to set up the turntable. I will definitely be using The Sound Organization for my audio needs in the future. Thank you."

"we just finished our meal (we had a lie because the portions were generous! and it was incredible! as it is a bank holiday, delivery was fast and contactless, as desired. my man called when I'm free of milk and they were so helpful by being over the ones of my favourite dishes free of milk and finding close alternatives for others. it was without doubt the most tasty and softest beautiful lamb I've ever eaten. would definitely recommend and we will order again. "I feel that the prices at this restaurant are too high for the portion sizes. The small cobra beer costs £5 and the butter chicken is £13.50, if I remember correctly. The chicken was a bit dry. If the prices were lower, I would rate it higher considering it is marketed as street food. For a total of £20.50, you could have a luxurious dining experience with multiple courses in India, not just street food. The service was dine-in and the meal type was dinner."

"The restaurant is very nicely decorated but the food and service do not match to that experience. We were sat so close to other people on other tables it was like were dining with them. We attended pre concert and chose the concert menu. The appetisers came within minutes of ordering, there wasn't a lot for the price. The mains we had to wait over 45 minutes for which was not good and we kept being told it was on the way. The food when it came was average curry really. It had obviously been cooked in a huge batch as it was on the set menu so not sure why it took so long. The service was not great...we were never asked if the food was ok or if we wanted another drink. We only had Coke and this was rather expensive at £3 for a tiny bottle.... Overall i think the place is very nice but the food was average at best and the service poor. The set menu was £25 per person which was not value for what you actually got. We saw a 10% service charge on our bill which we asked to be removed. Tried it, but wouldn't go back again."

"I visited recently with my sister and we were both very impressed. I had curry and my sister had ravioli, both meals were excellent! There is something for everyone including loads of choice for vegetarians. They also serve some yummy cocktails. The staff were really welcoming and attentive. "The food was mediocre and I didn’t feel like there was anything special about it. Just tasted like a normal curry from any high street takeaway. The seating was so tightly arranged and at times I couldn’t push my chair back to stand because the table behind me had their chairs straight up against my back. Pretty much immediately after we finished eating, we could see the staff eyeing us to leave. And we felt uncomfortable and as if we were imposing even when there was no time limit on the table."

"I had the most amazing chicken masala here recently. I didn't even know this place existed. I had a business meeting in the restaurant and I am very impressed with the food. definitiw one of the best Indian meals I've ever had. they were looking forward to going back there, they also had a nice pinot grigio I forgot to get the name. the person with whom I had pasta and was also very impressed by their meal. as they can see from the photos, it was also beautifully presented."
