"I purchased a groupon voucher. First time I tried to use it I booked a table for two over the phone. No problem they booked me in for the specified time. But when I said I had a groupon voucher I was told I could only use it on a quiet night, not the night which I had already booked for. Ok. So I rebooked for a 'quiet night '. When we arrived it was empty. We were the only people there. We ordered drinks and food. Food was mediocre. Quality rather than quantity, not what I would expect from an Indian restaurant. I would compare it to Iceland frozen curry. We didn 't complain but decided we wouldn 't bother with dessert. The Manager knew we were using a groupon voucher before we ordered however when we wanted to pay and I showed him the photo of the groupon voucher on my phone complete with barcode, Security code and groupon code he scrutinised every detail on it. He said there was no date on it and said to me that people try to use vouchers which are out of date. I then had to point out to him the valid date on it. Then he said we should have printed it out. Then he messed about trying to take a photo of it with his own phone. Then he said I had to give him my phone number in case there was a 'problem ' with the voucher. It was really very awkward. Almost as though he just didn 't want to redeem it. I have used groupon before and I know how to use the groupon voucher code and merchants have never had a problem taking the details off my phone before. I had already read several reviews about the spice centre bad customer service but I had decided to purchase the groupon voucher anyway. I really wished I hadn 't. I won 't go again and will warn everyone I know not to waste their time or money on the Spice centre."

The curry lacked spice, the vegetable curry tasted like it was just in a sauce, and the popadoms tasted like they were cooked in rancid oil.

Decided to come here for my anniversary. Big mistake. Poor food and the ambience reminded me of a school dining hall. Service was very average. Won’t be coming back.

We get takeaway here often and its always lovely, even after a 20 minute drive home. Went in for dinner one Saturday evening, it was early, so was quite but the food was very tasty and staff where friendly and helpful View menu

Decided to try this place when on holiday. The food was okay but the incredibly strong smell of incense was too overpowering and took away the flavours of the meal. The decor was like a 70's cabaret club going out of business....

The atmosphere is very welcoming, I love the owners they make you feel so welcome and are very attentive to everyone's needs. The food is the best Indian cuisine in West Dorset as we have travelled the area to seek out authentic Indian cuisine. There are a huge range of starters, mains and desserts. The menu has an extensive range in flavours and spices, with meals for the less adventurous and for all ages.

Weve used this restaurant mainly for takeaway and we've not had a bad meal to be fair. So for my 40th we decided as a family to eat in the restaurant on the buffet night. We had booked and was left waiting at our table to be served a drink for over 15mins. When we were eventually told we could go up to eat the food was as good as cold. I told the waiter who didn't look like he wanted to be there and said we would have to wait till it got hot again! There was no sorry or complementary while we waited so off we went! Thanks for ruining my birthday meal we won't be back View menu

Recently moved to Dorchester and decided to try an indian takeaway. This place had been recommended by relatives who frequently visit the restaurant. This is the worst indian takeaway I have ever eaten. The sauce for both my passanda and my partner 's masala were as thick as wallpaper paste and did not taste anything like the curries they were advertised as. We had asked for a pilau rice and what we received had zero flavour and looked more like plain boiled rice. All food was tepid at best and lacked flavour. The 'garlic ' naan had no flavour whatsoever. This is also the most expensive indian takeaway I have ever had so expected much better. I would not recommend this to anyone. Spend your...

The new owners have really outdone themselves with this great meal we had. We currently live in the Midlands and have a fantastic selection of curry houses to choose from. It's not often that I come across a menu where I want to try so many different dishes, it took us a while to decide. They offer all the classic dishes from tikka Madala to Rogan Josh, as well as some really interesting options like lobster, squid, and beef rump. The three of us shared 2 starters and 3 mains. The trio of chicken was delicious, even though one of them was bright green! The lamb strips were amazing, a minted red currant jelly lamb with an Indian twist. If you like a rich, slightly sweet curry, the lamb and ap...
