"The three of us shared 2 starters and 3 mains. The trio of starters was delicious, although one was a surprisingly bright green. The lamb strips were particularly impressive, served with a red-currant jelly and Indian spices. For those who enjoy a rich, slightly sweet curry, the lamb and apricot dish is a must-try. My sister's lamb practically melted off the bone, while my friend loved her creamy and flavorful New Delhi chicken. The naan bread was some of the best I've had, light and crispy, and the side of mushroom curry was also a hit. We will definitely be coming back to this restaurant - as a self-proclaimed foodie, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. At £21 per person including drinks, it was a bargain for such a great dining experience."

"Just enjoyed a superb meal. We had Pani Puri Sheek Kabab starters followed by Paneer Lababdor and chicken makhani. All dishes were really good, but the chicken was the best “butter chicken” I have ever eaten. Really pleased they have continued to fill the dishes with plenty of meat and paneer. Price is still fair. Umami may not match Dishoom for decor, but the food is just as good."

"We went for a dinner with friends, we ordered salt pepper corn, chilli paneer, masala Mogo, veg samosa’s which were all edible but nothing that was outstanding, but all edible and we all ate. For mains we ordered butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and naan and nothing was really outsindong, they added juts lots of chilli powder on the dal makhani but forgot to add any butter or cream! The paneer was again the same nothing shahi about it. They did offer to make it again but we didn’t want to wait around for them to make it all again. Be aware when ordering a jug of coke or drink! It’s £12 for 3 large glasses of coke whereas the the jug is £12 and only offer you 1.5 glasses of coke! So felt a bit ripped off there! But we didn’t say anything to them about it but def not worth getting the jug! Lesson learnt not sure if rush back to eat there again as nothing really stood out"

"We had biryani with lamb on the bone and my partner had manchurian veggie balls and veggie noodles. The biryani came in a fairly big bowl but the lamb on the bone portion was only just adequate. The lamb was tender and tasted very nice. The rice was just okay Fairly nice flavours but overrall a very dry dish and I didn't like the cloves in the rice. It was expensive for what it was! My partner enjoyed the manchurian veggie balls but said they were very spicy. She did NOT enjoy the veggie noodles as she said they were bland. I tried the noodles too and I could've done a better cooking job at home and I'm not a good cook!!!!! Most of the veggie noodles were left on the plate!! The waiter did NOT help us with our menu choices which is POOR customer service! To sum up, the food was average and expensive for what you got We may be tempted to return if there is a special offer in TWO years time!!!!! "The orders were mixed up at this restaurant, the salad was dry, and the cucumber looked like it was sprouting another life form (as seen in the picture). When I called to complain, I first spoke with a woman who seemed new and didn't know much, so I was transferred to another employee who was very rude. He tried to claim I was at a different address and said they always have problems with me, even though I am not at the address he mentioned. He abruptly hung up on me."

"While the food and ambience is good, I was taken aback when after booking via OpenTable the waitress was not able to find my booking. Furthermore, she stated we don't use OpenTable and so this was not a valid booking, inspite of my showing the email confirmation and the booking on the app. Wasn't a nice start to an evening when I was taking guests over there, but the food and service thereafter was decent. Pricing is a bit high, but then it has made a name and so was packed even on a Thursday evening. Worth visiting. Perhaps book directly."

"Ordered a chefs special (Asian style) pizza however I received some random pizza with donner on it. Even the donner was raw and did not taste right so had to bin it. Very disappointed as was looking forward to a decent pizza. Ordered few times before and it was good however was really badly let down this time. Won't be ordering again for sure. "Ordered a large chicken tikka kebab with sauce separate at an extra cost from here and large chips and cheese got home to realise that there was no sauce and the chips were cold… I called to complain and he was so unhelpful and had a disagreement about it then eventually offered to give me my sauce which I paid for after speaking for ages in there own language but said I would need to come along for it and I said by the time I come all the way back along for the sauce my food will all be freezing and I want fresh chips they refused until I asked to speak to manager then he said bring all food back and we will replace it all so I did… I go all the way back along to get my fresh order and to return my food and explained that I was pregnant and can’t have the chicken reheated for them to then give me a donner wrap instead and reheated chips I got all the way home again to realise this and had to go all the way back for my refund! I wasted fuel there and back there and back again and they just looked at us and said it was another mistake shocking customer service and a ridiculous way to treat a pregnant woman"

"Lovely restaurant and decor to compliment the service given. A little pricy. Food was lovely and service was pretty efficient by our waitress(did not get her name). What I wasn't extremely happy with was the fact that our waitress offered popadoms and water said it was complementary, I decided to specifically ask if they both were and then the waitress told me only the water was complimentary; absolutely fine if popadoms aren't complimentary but don't make out as though it is. I decided to take off the service charge as I love to individually tip my waiter/waitress but staff decided to tell manager and he decided to make a big deal."

"The food was good! We ordered a variety of starters/mains, all unique in taste. None of the curries were similar but all different in their own ways. "we just finished our meal (we had a lie because the portions were generous! and it was incredible! as it is a bank holiday, delivery was fast and contactless, as desired. my man called when I'm free of milk and they were so helpful by being over the ones of my favourite dishes free of milk and finding close alternatives for others. it was without doubt the most tasty and softest beautiful lamb I've ever eaten. would definitely recommend and we will order again. "Overall a terrible experience. Our table of two was joined with another table of four with no space in between, basically cramming as many tables in as they can leaving you with no privacy and practically sitting on each others laps. The menu on their website the opentable menu is not the same as the one given in the restaurant the prices are almost double (dish I ordered was listed as £5.50 but was £9.95 in the restaurant I would not be surprised if they had a second menu with higher prices to scam those without a deal) Food was very average I ordered a side dish and my friend ordered a main dish both were the same size. But my friend was charged the price for a main but the waiter seemed to think despite it being half the size of a main, that it was indeed a main course. We had to ask to have this sorted out on the bill which was fine as they corrected the price, however the rest of the bill did not add up to the total. The waiter didn 't even bother giving us an explanation as to why this was he clearly got irritated that we questioned the bill and demanded that we could only pay with one card for the table I said we wanted to pay separately and was completely dismissed and told 'one card per table only, you 'll have to pay each other back '. Very rude. If you don 't book online, other diners seem to be offered some sort of discounts on the door (we could hear this as we were basically sitting on top of each other with other tables) Would not recommend. Much better options on brick lane with better service."
