"We went for a dinner with friends, we ordered salt pepper corn, chilli paneer, masala Mogo, veg samosa’s which were all edible but nothing that was outstanding, but all edible and we all ate. For mains we ordered butter chicken, shahi paneer, dal makhani and naan and nothing was really outsindong, they added juts lots of chilli powder on the dal makhani but forgot to add any butter or cream! The paneer was again the same nothing shahi about it. They did offer to make it again but we didn’t want to wait around for them to make it all again. Be aware when ordering a jug of coke or drink! It’s £12 for 3 large glasses of coke whereas the the jug is £12 and only offer you 1.5 glasses of coke! So felt a bit ripped off there! But we didn’t say anything to them about it but def not worth getting the jug! Lesson learnt not sure if rush back to eat there again as nothing really stood out"

"Brilliant. Was up in Aberdeen, from a bit down to coast, for a hospital visit. Timed it so we could get a takeaway in the 'toon ' before heading back home with it. Did a Google search for decent curry houses in the area and came up with this place. So, first time there for us. Called from the hospital grounds at just after 4pm and was told the food would be ready in about half an hour. We headed up there, arriving a wee bit early but our order was ready. Got it back home and boy it was fantastic. Lamb Seekh Kebab and vegetarian platter (for the wife) and both were great. I then had the Prawn Bombay Flame and Keema Rice and she had Prawn Dhansak with Pilau Rice. Add a Tarka Dhall on the side and Keema and Cheese Naans, popadoms and dips etc and things were complete. The quality of the food was just fantastic and the prawns were some of the best I 've ever had in a curry. Helpings were abundant as well. I cannot fault this place. Friendly staff too and clean and tidy wee shop. This may have been our first takeaway from here but rest assured it will not be our last. Brilliant!!!! Cheers!!!"

"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"While the food and ambience is good, I was taken aback when after booking via OpenTable the waitress was not able to find my booking. Furthermore, she stated we don't use OpenTable and so this was not a valid booking, inspite of my showing the email confirmation and the booking on the app. Wasn't a nice start to an evening when I was taking guests over there, but the food and service thereafter was decent. Pricing is a bit high, but then it has made a name and so was packed even on a Thursday evening. Worth visiting. Perhaps book directly."

"The menu at this restaurant is good, with efficient and friendly staff. I have been coming here regularly for a year and have never had any issues with the food. They offer delicious rich sauces, particularly in the zentara and kalli March dishes. When you order a main dish, you also receive a small salad. If you pre-order over the phone, your food will be ready in 20 minutes, even during busy times. They offer delivery within 20 minutes as well. The chicken tikka charcoal grill is a standout dish, with a light curry sauce that pairs well with naan and chicken. The pakora sauce has a nice kick to it and the portions are generous. In addition to Indian cuisine, they also offer pizza, kebabs, and chips. They have chef selection meals and accept orders through Just Eat. There is a small bench and a TV for waiting customers."

I recently visited their location in York to demo the new speakers, the Donator D7.2, and the Rega Planar 8 turntable. After the demo, I decided to purchase both items as well as Atacama furniture. Once everything arrived, Matt offered to come to my house in Kendal in the Lake District to install the audio equipment. This was a fantastic service that I greatly appreciated. "we just finished our meal (we had a lie because the portions were generous! and it was incredible! as it is a bank holiday, delivery was fast and contactless, as desired. my man called when I'm free of milk and they were so helpful by being over the ones of my favourite dishes free of milk and finding close alternatives for others. it was without doubt the most tasty and softest beautiful lamb I've ever eaten. would definitely recommend and we will order again. "I recently dined at Maaya and unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. I feel compelled to share my feedback to shed light on the issues I encountered during my visit. First and foremost, the behaviour of the staff was highly unprofessional. I was taken aback by their rudeness and arrogance, which left a sour taste in my mouth from the moment I entered the restaurant. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and dismissive, lacking the basic courtesy one would expect in a dining establishment. It is essential for a restaurant to prioritize customer service, and the behaviour I witnessed did not meet even the most minimal standards. Furthermore, there was a severe mistake with our order. We had ordered eight starters and eight main courses in total, but to our dismay, the staff mistook it for four main courses in total, instead of 4 main courses on each table, and started behaving extremely rudely with the ladies. They were trying to intimidate the ladies into ordering more dishes that what was required. Additionally, the service at Maaya was exceedingly slow. From the moment we sat down, it took an excessive amount of time for the waitstaff to approach our table and take our orders. The entire experience was plagued by long waits, which further exacerbated our dissatisfaction. Due to the aforementioned issues, my companions and I were left with no choice but to cut our visit short, which unfortunately disrupted the planned meeting we had scheduled. As a customer, I had high hopes for Maaya, but the overall experience fell short of even the most basic standards of hospitality. The combination of rude and arrogant staff, the mistake with our main courses, and the consistently late services left me deeply unsatisfied. Dining out should be a pleasurable experience, but unfortunately, this was not the case during my visit to Maaya. I sincerely hope that Maaya takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issues I've highlighted. Improving customer service, ensuring order accuracy, and streamlining the service timings are essential steps to regain the trust and satisfaction of diners. I hope to see positive changes in the future because every customer deserves a pleasant and memorable dining experience."

"Food was delicious. I felt that the rice to share was certainly very small and we were eating from the a La carte menu. We asked for desert and a coffee they didn’t have the desert we wanted and the coffee machine was out of order. I also asked for irn bru and they didn’t have that either. Overall was a nice meal, however let down by lack of things on the menu."
