"Scarlett Green was incredibly disappointing, I’d made the reservation maybe three weeks ahead so to be sat in the worst seat in the restaurant. Really it shouldn’t even be an area where there is a table. It was right on the corner of the banquette seating. My friend asked to move as it was making her really uncomfortable, plus she has a back complaint so asked politely and the waiter was exceptionally rude and refused her request to move (bearing in mind at that time, the restaurant was near empty) we asked again and begrudging we were allowed to move. We ordered within 10 minutes of arriving and then had to wait nearly 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I had booked Scarlett Green having seen photos on Instagram where the presentation of the food was amazing. The presentation of my pancakes, left a lot to be desired compared to the photos I had seen. We luckily ended up with a different waiter to our original, who was considerably more helpful and did then (when we questioned our bill) arrange a discount for us. Safe to say we will not be returning."

"In the States, you could probably expect to find a handful of great burger joints in every city. Unfortunately, Brighton only has a few with one of the most consistent being Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Situated smack in the middle of the North Laines, GBK is a lively place that's quite busy in the week and rammed at weekends. They have seating indoors and out and the large dining area makes it perfect for big groups and kids birthday parties. The steep prices mean parents that decide to treat their kid had better check their wallets before inviting along the rest of the class! There's 28 different burgers on the menu, all made from tasty Aberdeen Angus steak apart from the organic Laverstoke Park Farm range (which includes buffalo and wild boar). Seasoning wise, you can choose from cajun, chilli, BBQ, mexican and satay to more yuppy varieties like avacado and bacon. Vegetarians have a choice of falafel, puy lentil, mushroom or aubergine burgers but having sampled these, I'd recommend sticking to fries and milkshake. Really. The price of burgers range from £6 £8 but they charge an extra £2.75 for fries and an extra £1.55 for dipping sauces. The sauces are hand made allegedly but I still think it's a little mean to charge for such small quantities. They also sell a small range of beers, wines, sodas and milkshakes. Don't go expecting a diner milkshake made from ice cream, milk and valhrona though these are much thinner and flavourless, hence 4 stars instead of 5!"

"The main reason why i did not give a better review was that i discovered Gridiron via an add that appeared on instagram and i clicked on the link and checked out the menus and i noticed that you have a set menu available until 7:30 mon-sat, we attended on a friday at 5:30 but was told that the set menu was not available which was very disappointing as this is what first attracted me in the first place. I have looked at your website since that visit and noticed that it still has the set menu. Can you tell me if this set menu is still available and why i was not offered it on my visit. Thanks.. "We ordered the set menu and food was nice but had to repeatedly remind the staff about the dessert and coffee, which was included to it. We also needed to repeatedly ask for extra cutlery and plates, in order to avoid sharing food from salads, meat platter etc. given the 'new normal ' situation. Nice atmosphere, although the place was a bit too noisy upstairs, mainly from the kitchen area."

"this is the george pub on the great portland street not confused with the george and dragon pub on cleveland street. recently opened and we live locally so really want to try it out, but came very disappointed. we had only beer, the special pinner and an ipa. we ordered from the bar and the bar offering has a terrible employment problems, but also us service fee. End-up costs over quid a beer and the pilsner was under average. we looked at the menu and the price was eye irrigation also for the center of london plus service fee for the exchange of platter). decor looks like samuel forged, except two tvs showing sport. they try to please the locals, but have to cancel the chances since they needed years to renovate. they have a room in the upper floor to be opened in the fairytale. they don't go there unless they have a lot to waste."

"Well what am I to say about the whole experience! It was utterly poor from the get go! Spent £65 for a family of four the service was poor there was one man serving, the food was cold as it was all sat on the side waiting for ages also lacked everything you order and burger and it doesn’t not come with any sides or salad so you actually spend about £16 per head for a main meal! Chef in the kitchen visible massive beard with no hair net vile! Sent a complaint through to their head office for the branch to ring me to tell me I had to go back in to receive a refund! Overall terrible experience I will never be returning unless it’s to get my refund !"

"Feeling very dissatisfied after a family lunch here for many reasons: The burgers are the most expensive in the whole of leamington and don’t even include a side. 4x single burgers and 4x soft drinks £60! I don’t mind paying for quality food or ‘gourmet’ as this chain declare themselves as but when your burger arrives and it’s swimming in a plate of oil the bottom bun so wet you have to eat it with a knife and fork that is just unacceptable! You have to serve yourself ordering via an app and they automatically add a tip to your bill cheeky! I think their business model is to simply rob people! I would not recommend visiting here unless you like having your pants pulled down and an upset stomach from the grease!"

"We were the first table to arrive for lunch. Started well with drink and food orders then all went down hill. We ordered 4 dishes between the 4 of us. Mine and my daughters order arrived and we waited for my husbands order but it was slow coming out so we started and both were cold and bland. We had finished our food and the last dishes still hadn’t arrived. It was 10 minuets after we had finished before my husbands arrived which he said was good in their defence. After a long wait they came to clear our plates and no pudding menu was offered so eventually we asked for coffee and was told they didn’t serve coffee I haven’t come across a restaurant that doesn’t serve coffee before. There was no apology for the delay and the restaurant didn’t start to fill up until after we had finished so don’t understand why the food and service was so bad. There are lots of restaurants in London so on this performance I wouldn’t recommend going to Mole."

"We have had three meals at this restaurant (before and after Covid) and have also ordered takeout twice to try a variety of items on the menu. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, with friendly staff and quick service. Standout dishes include the cauliflower popcorn, buffalo soldiers (halloumi), burgers, corn, and fries (both regular and ranch). The sauces and portion sizes are top-notch. On a recent visit with a vegan friend, we found that the fillings in the tacos were small and the fries were more like chips with mayo. This was disappointing as it was the only negative experience we've had at the restaurant. While there are several vegan-friendly options on the menu, it would be great to see more variety for vegans and larger portion sizes."

"It’s a really lovely bar with great staff. It’s quiet and intimate. You can sit at the bar and chat with staff about gin. You can learn a lot about gin and the tasting experience is really good too. I wouldn’t call it a restaurant though limited bar snacks such as nuts available . However if you are looking for a quiet place to go for a drink in the city then this is great."

"I tasted GBK burgers for the first time and I must say their burgers are the nicest and tastiest burgers I have had in a very long time, I was asked how I wanted it which was cooked to perfection. It does cost a lot for a burger but it really was worth the money. The presentation of the food and packaging is the best I've ever seen, cardboard boxes instead of plastic (hate plastic packaging for food). Their customer service was ok I guess but i wasn't greeted with a smile, but I would go there again to eat in. LOVED IT"
