"We booked Jilabi last minute to host a 40th birthday party for 25 family members. We were allocated a private function room and given support in planning the menu to meet the needs of our party. From start to finish we experienced tasty food but the customer service was certainly amongst the best we have ever experienced. Unfortunately the cake that we had purchased had been left out of the fridge (error on our part) and collapsed as soon as the waiters were due to bring it in. The workers discreetly notified us and arranged a similar cake from the same cake shop in such a short amount of time. After our mains came the freebies that we hadn’t requested but were provided complimentary by the restaurant. First came chocolate cake with ice cream and fresh Indian sweets. Then came a mock tail that was absolutely delicious. They then served us huge fresh fruit platters followed by our choice of tea or coffee. We paid a modest bill for this exceptional meal and will be sure to attend again in the future."

"Booked for bottomless brunch on Saturday, only to turn up and find the restaurant closed. My friend had travelled from Liverpool and myself from the other side of Manchester, so to say this was disappointing is an understatement! I rang the number and in fairness they answered, but I don’t feel they offered a solid resolution. They claimed they had tried to get in touch but I’d confirmed the table the day before through the Opentable text I received. I had no missed calls, no other texts and no emails from Aamchi. Their reasoning for cancelling was that we were the only booking which is fair enough, but any form of communication would have been appreciated! I believe if they’d have just cancelled through open table it would have notified me so I don’t believe this excuse of trying to get in touch they clearly just forgot. If the booking had been cancelled then we wouldn’t have been as annoyed and would have saved hours (and the cost) of travelling between us! They offered to give us “something special” the next time we come, but considering we travelled out of our way to come for the bottomless brunch, I can’t say I’m willing to make the journey again to risk another disappointment. Shout out to Chit and Chaat where we had a great meal as an alternative!"

"So sad to see my absolute favourite indian restaurant changing management and the quality of food going down with it. I ate there a few weeks ago and found the food a bit disappointing, nothing like what it used to taste before I have been a regular customer for many years and know their menu by heart. Gave it a go again today but it's as disappointing as last time. The recipes completely wrong and takes ages for an okay food to be prepared. "Went for a work night out and Bombay Spice did not disappoint! They called a couple of hours before the reservation to confirm which was reassuring. On arrival a friendly welcome. We weren't rushed and everyone said they really enjoyed the food. Didn't have to wait long after ordering for things to arrive. Overall a great place. Tasty food, friendly staff, reasonably priced and a welcoming atmosphere."

"So we ordered our food delivered , delivery driver was friendly , even tiped him once we opened our food we realised no sauces with popadoms phoned them up to be told you have to pay separate for sauces , so we have popadoms that we paid £2.40 for with no sauces at all, not told this at the time of ordering ...strange! Then we move onto the korma , it was lumpy with massive flakes of coconut, not nice at all, we have ordered from here before and it was not like this before , phoned them up and asked them to come and collect the food and give us a refund we have not touched this food at all! They were not very helpful and refused to give a refund, or even acknowledge that the food wasn’t right , kept saying there was nothing they can do , do not waste your money , we have now thrown it all in the bin and had to cook something , next time we will take the drive down to the cumin club in Rochester as much better food , service is better and not as over priced!"

"We booked a children’s party here for ten kids through groupon. Booking wasn’t very straightforward as the member of staff didn’t know what we were talking about. We never received any confirmation of booking either. Once we got there we were shown the tables available...for us and the two bowling lanes. We were the only customers in the place so having ten kids for a party should of been easy. First off the constant nagging from the female member of staff put a real damper on the day. Kids are noisy,they run around bearing in mind it’s a kids party. This member of staff was at my side every five minutes complaining about one thing or another. The bowling alley wasn’t great,at one stage the ball actually rolled back up the alley. The food is unlimited on the groupon with pasta, chips and pizza available. The kids were hungry and ate well but we didn’t need anymore food. There were a few left over slices of pizza which I offered to the adults. The female member of staff actually took the pizza out of my mums hand saying it was for the kids,took it away and binned it. When she came to complain to me again I actually told her to leave me alone and requested the manager. There were a few complaints from us about the way the staff behaved and when I discussed this with the manager he just blamed the staff. When I explained that I’m an avid trip adviser reviewer he tried to bribe me with a free game if I gave a good review. It’s a great deal on the face of it but it was a total nightmare. I even opened a tab and spent on top of the party cost as I know the business doesn’t make a profit from groupon,this included food for the adults. The male member of staff behind the bar was fantastic."

"My husband and I had a date night dinner , The lamb Biryani and Saag Aloo, were the worst I have ever had. I couldn 't eat the Saag Aloo because it was too hot with whatever they had added, chillies or spices I managed to eat a small amount of the Biryani but again any aromatic flavours were overpowered by the added spices or chillies. My mouth and lips were burning. We didn 't eat all of the meal. I would have told the waitress when we paid the bill if she had bothered to ask if we enjoyed the meal. We have been there before but there should not be such inconsistency with the flavour of the food. We will vote with our feet and not bother again. We will stick to the Gurkha in Chatham in future."

"We had family visiting so decided to try the restaurant in Bridge of Don. We were a mixed group from regular Indian foodies to my wife’s mother age who had never eaten spicy food before. Serg, the manager met us and immediately struck up a rapor with our group, telling jokes, making a fuss of “Mum” and making us feel very welcome. He advised on the menu and wine and settled us down to what was a very memorable evening.In short, wine was great, food amazing and the staff could not have been more attentive. "Very disappointed. I ordered from Shri Bheema because on its website it said the Bridge of Don location was open. I ordered for collection with the JustEat website quoting me for pickup. When I finished processing the order at the confirmation said pickup had changed to Not ideal, but manageable. I arrived at the Bridge of Don location to find out that it was closed and the food was coming from Belmont Street. I was disheartened by this, but they explained they could not get staff from India to fill the kitchen. I really want to be sympathetic, but it was before my food arrived which leads to my poor review. The food was good. Lamb korma was light and sweet, perfect for my kids. Chicken patia was surprisingly spicy, but so delicious I ate through the sweats. The naan was huge and each curry would give two generous portions. However, Shri Bheema is more expensive than others and if you can't get the food in good time, then my view is it isn't worth it."

"When I first ate at this restaurant it was really good value for money as i booked the 50% offer. However on this occasion, the menu had changed and the prices have increased. Nevertheless, the food is tasty and not oily, but a bit too spicy. I t would be good if they could give the option on whether you want the dishes mild, medium or hot.
