"This has got to be the worst sizzler I have ever had! I ordered a delivery and there was burnt dried up lamb chop, some dried up chicken pieces and a prawn shell in crumbs which I'm presuming was the prawn! The keema naan was dripping in grease , it looked like it had been deep fried.. I read the reviews on here and was looking forward to my food, Big big disappointment in looks, presentation and taste... awful "

"Extremely fresh ingredients, amazing taste. They had one of the best naans I had in London. Definitely worth a visit. Service was very friendly, although the staff did look a bit confused at times but it didn’t cause a problem. The ambience is also great, you can feel that this place really has history."

"I was there twice in a week. for the first time two weave and we had delicious appetizers. we enjoyed it and had great service. the Peshwari man was delicious. I returned on Saturday with two friends and our experience was less good. they had a big party and so understandably had less time. we had pompodums instead of appetizers and so judged on net and veg. the cute portions were too small and we wish we had ordered more food-very unusual for one inder where you usually order over order! the peshwari was not almost as beautiful as before in the week. overall my second visit was disappointing."

I returned with two friends on Saturday and our experience was less good. They had a big party and so understandably they had less time. Overall my second visit was disappointing."

"The dining experience was excellent. It was clear that the flavors were authentic to Kerala or another region in South India. As some other reviews suggest, opinions may vary, but in my opinion, this is not the place to go if you are expecting a British curry. I have visited South India before and the food there was amazing, and the use of curry leaves in the dishes at this restaurant was truly authentic and delicious."

"My wife and I made a return visit to Charcoals first time in 5 years after moving out of Glasgow a while back. I 'm pleased to report that although the location has changed, the food and service is still absolutely top notch. I regularly visited their earlier Renfield Street location prior to retirement, and was surprised and happy that I was recognised by owner Muhammad Sultan. After a brief catch up, it was down to the food and as it always was, it didn 't disappoint. Superb starters and perfect mains a lamb rogan josh for me and a chicken biryani for the wife completely hit the spot. And as so often happens at Charcoals, the occasional extra dish Just something for you to try, sir landed on the table. I 've missed Charcoals, and fortunately I 'll be making a return visit with friends prior to a gig in town next month. I can 't wait!!"
