"I went there twice in one week. First time two females and we had delicious starters. We enjoyed it and had great service. The peshwari man was delicious. I returned with two friends on Saturday and our experience was less good. They had a big party and so understandably they had less time. We had pompodums rather than starters and so judged on mains and veg. The vegetable portions were too small and we wished we had ordered more food-very unusual for an Indian where one usually over orders! The peshwari was not nearly as nice as earlier in the week. Overall my second visit was disappointing."

Excellent food as ever, with a wide range of interesting starters some superb mains, notably the lamb saag the chettinadu chicken. Some decent wines available too. My only issue is that the service can sometimes be slow.

Very enjoyable and really nice service. The manager gave us great recommendations and proactively asked us to consider switching some of the dishes to ensure we get the best mix of flavours and tastes. Will definitely be returning!

The food at Avani continues to be so much better than the standard curry. A wide range of interesting starters, with very large portions some superb mains, notably the lamb saag the chicken chettinadu. An interesting wine list as well. Service was helpful friendly. A tad pricier than your basic curry, but well worth the premium. View menu

Great restaurant with really good food. Staff were friendly and accommodating, we had no issues with staff. All of the diners commented on the meals and all cleared plates. Few tiny grumbles about the lack of air con which made the heat slightly uncomfortable. We also ordered a mushroom rice and was given a plain, but this really wasn't an issue for us. We would definitely go back.

I have visited Avani several times and have typically had a positive experience. However, during my last visit, the restaurant could not find my reservation and had to ask another group to move in order to seat us. My lamb saag dish consisted mostly of sauce, with only a few small pieces of lamb that were tough and inedible. The service was slow and the staff appeared uninterested in any complaints or feedback.

We've been to this restaurant a number of times and each time it just gets better. This time I requested for a chicken Bhuna which wasn't on the menu and the chef kindly made from scratch, despite being really busy in the kitchen, the flavours of all dishes we've tried have been delicious- service is also really good. It is a little pricey but it's a fine dining curry restaurant and not to be compared with your normal take away! View menu

On the whole a good evening with good food which was a little on the pricey side. Having eaten there before about a year ago and thought the food very tasty and different from the norm I was somewhat disappointed. My lamb was nothing like I had before and certainly not tender. Don't know if chef has changed. My son has informed me that takeaways not good would we return not sure. Staff welcoming and attentive but food not amazing compared to first visit!

I have been a frequent customer at Avani since it was taken over by new owners. Unfortunately, it seems that the standards have dropped. The quality of certain meats, particularly the lamb, is not as good as it used to be, with some dishes having more sauce than actual meat. The service, which has always been slow (possibly due to dishes being cooked from scratch), has now become more casual and even arrogant. It's a shame because there are not many good restaurants in Radlett.
