"The main courses feature authentic Bangladeshi recipes at reasonable prices. While the starters may seem a bit pricey for takeout at first, they offer generous portions and delicious flavors that make them worth the cost. The poppadoms are a great value, with all the extra accompaniments included by Simla. If you prefer your tandoori dishes less charred, be sure to request this when ordering. My only complaint is that the naan and chapatti are consistently thick and heavy, which is not to my taste. Despite asking for changes, this has not been accommodated. There is also a separate fast food menu for those with varied tastes, although I have not personally tried it. Parking is plentiful outside after 6pm for collection orders, and there are comfortable sofas available for waiting. Overall, a decent option for a curry meal."

"Had great meals here in the past but ordered a takeaway this evening and it was a bit disappointing. £50 felt steep for what we got. The butter chicken honestly tastes exactly like heinz tomato soup with some chili! It was also chicken tikka meat.So although not unpleasant it was nothing like a butter chicken. My partner's lamb korma was also not like a korma, no coconut flavour. I also found the pakora too cardamom-y but that could be personal preference. The nans were decent but I do think the ones we had eating in in the past were nicer, fresher. Unfortunately probably won't be back."

"They also have great offers; it's impressive how they provide such high-quality food at such reasonable prices! We paid about £10 for what we had: poppadoms, a starter, a main course, and a side. We were so full after our meal that we didn't have room for dessert or coffee, but even if we did, I don't think we would have spent more than £15 per person! Better yet, in true Balti house tradition, they allow you to bring your own alcohol, so there's no need to overspend on drinks either! I definitely missed out by not trying this place sooner. I used to think my options were either a) go to a fancy restaurant for good food and pay top dollar for both food and drinks or b) go to a Balti house, where the quality is hit or miss, so I just never bothered, even though it would save me money. Now I've found the best of both worlds: a great restaurant, top-notch food, low prices, and the ability to bring my own alcohol! Is it any wonder that I've been back four times in the last two weeks? Keep up the great work!"

"Me and my girlfriend came here and were pleasantly surprised. Atmosphere and decor were fine the starters were good but the meal really took off when we got to the mains. Garlic chilli and coriander naan was so tasty and portions are great plus excellent value : Staff are also really friendly and accommodating I don’t judge on uniform and decor as it’s food and service that are the most important 5/5"

"We had a reservation for seven people, made through The Fork. We accidentally showed up an hour early, but the owner was very gracious and showed us to our table. The food was very good—I’m a tough critic because I eat Indian food at least once a week—with the lamb korma, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and the naans standing out. We didn’t try any deserts as the portions were generous and we were all full at the end of the meal. A special note about the service—attentive, helpful and positive. The owner ran out on the street after one of us accidentally left our scarf by the table. We’ll be back soon!"

"I 'm not normally one for complaining but on this occasion I feel like I have to. I placed an order at the weekend through Just Eat (my 1st time using this method) and was informed that the estimated delivery time was 8pm, okay a 90 min wait which I could just about live with. As it turned out we waited 2 hours which I find totally unacceptable, the restaurant is a mile and a half away from where I live. When the meal arrived it was missing the onion Bhajis that we ordered. Rang the restaurant and was told we could knock it off our next meal, err I don 't think so. I stated we wanted them with our meal but apparently they were very busy and would deliver them as soon as possible, I 'm still waiting 2 days later. Thinking things couldn 't get any worse we plated our meals, well things did. The garlic supreme I ordered was supposed to have extensive use of garlic .....hmm, I think the chef, and I use the word chef loosely, forgot to add the garlic and the meal was not a good experience. My wife had a rogan josh, well a child 's sized portion anyway as the carton was only two thirds full at best. We also ordered a garlic nan and a peshwari nan, both which were so bland we thought they were just plain nan 's. A nightmare experience which spoilt our night, we won 't ever use the Nobin again, there are far superior restaurants in the area with better customer service. If I could have given no stars I would have done so."

"I had booked the royal spice but due to a very sad bereavement the restaurant was closed so went here instead. Service was chaotic to say the least even though there were only a handful of people in drinks order had to ask twice and wrong drink came. Poppadoms soft and chewy curries came two were wrong had to go back. One of our party had a nut allergy asked for a curry without nuts or could the curry she wanted be prepared without nuts answer no so what can I have a plate of chips! Really in this day and age nut allergies are quite common. I had to call the waiters at least twice from the other side of the room whilst they chatted together. I guess by the amount of people in the restaurant says it all really."

"Had been looking forward to trying this place as had heard great reviews but unfortunately very disappointed. Ordered chilli garlic Prawns which did not contain peppers as described and the sauce tasted like chilli ketchup. Squid starter was the most disappointing, the batter was coming off the squid resulting in a congealed sauce which was thick anyway.. Shame about texture as sauce was flavoursome. . The butter chicken was lovely but quite spicy which is surprising as this dish is usually mild, unfortunately no indication of spice level on website otherwise would have asked for spice to be reduced. Placed order over the phone but now wished I placed it on website as they didn't apply correct meal deal, when asked I was advised the butter chicken was not classic curry and therefore not included in deal. Only checked when I returned home and this was one of the dish choices on website for the meal deals. This resulted in over charging me which is bit dishonest."

"We ordered 6 different dishes chosen by this establishment, and I'm sorry to say that utterly appalling was our conclusion. All three of us agreed that it was all practically inedible and disgusting. I was attracted initially by the fact that Nepali dishes were served here including mojo. The momo were inedible along with almost everything else we ordered including the nan bread which was so dried out, it was like cardboard. Obviously not made on site. We are amazed this place has been in business for any length of time. The on Y acceptable food we received out of nearly £40 of different dishes was the pilau rice. Very sad to report this, we has higher expectations. Avoid this place if you like good quality food."

"As someone who has been a cook for many years and a lover of Indian cuisine, I recently visited this restaurant for the first time on my birthday. I must say that I was extremely impressed and even a bit frustrated that I only have one stomach, as the food was truly magical and delicious. The dishes prepared by the chefs were a delight to the taste buds and I was completely enamored with the flavors. Additionally, the restaurant itself was beautifully decorated, clean, and pleasant. "Although the food was nice, the experience was not! The manager was rude and did not make us feel welcome. Rushed us to order saying we had limited time at the table as it was booked for another group in 90 minutes. Then the food took forever to arrive. Waiting for the bill and for a waiter to come and take our payment felt like an eternity! We left 45 minutes after the time the manager said the next booking was due to arrive, they never came because there was no other booking! One waiter opened the door for us when we left and said thank you. That was the most polite any of the staff had been all evening. Very disappointing and no wonder the staff are miserable with a manager like that! We were looking for a place for the 8 of us to meet up regularly, it won't be at Vakas! Will never go there for a meal again!"

"I celebrated my mother's 60th birthday at this restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I was able to bring in a birthday cake and they were very attentive in assisting with it. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. As an added bonus, they even sang a birthday song when they brought out the cake. Overall, it was a fantastic experience for both adults and children."

"Visited recently mid week. Very disappointed. Order mixed grilled starter.well it certainly was grilled more like incinerated. Main course very poor, two of the chicken curries had clear water running off in the terrines which denotes one thing microwave. They could of at least finished...the ‘dish’ in the pan, in an attempt to disguise the ping a ling cooking.. I fully appreciate its hard at the moment to keep a full menu stocked but that shouldn’t reflect in the meal delivered to paying customers. Only went because the local Chilli Lounge was unexpectedly closed. Won’t return."
