"Located in a charming historic building, this restaurant had the potential to be a classic brasserie, offering a fixed price menu for lunch and early evening to rival London's high prices. The service was friendly and attentive, starting off with a delicious duck pate. However, the main course steak was tough and flavorless, and the tomato salad lacked taste as well. It is often difficult to find flavorful tomatoes in London, possibly due to challenges in sourcing quality produce post-Brexit. The wine we ordered, one white and one red, did not meet our expectations in terms of quality. Overall, we left feeling disappointed with our dining experience."

"We visit Miller and Carter often but fancied a small change and opted for Browns which we believe to be within the same chain. We arrived promptly at 6:30 on a Friday evening, the restaurant was not busy yet staff shied away from us, leaving us waiting to be taken to our table. Despite the quiet restaurant we were sat at quite possibly the smallest table in the building. We ordered water and a bottle of wine, neither of which was poured or to allow us to taste (which is common courtesy in M&C)! We had the chateaubriand which was lovely perhaps erring on the side on medium when we ordered medium rare. We did not receive a check back and throughout the evening had to top up our own wine. We ordered dessert which was fine but once finished our server spent 10 minutes flirting with a table of women my partner had to walk over to the desk to ask another waiter to print our bill! We then felt rushed out the door. Nobody asked whether we enjoyed our evening and to be honest I wouldn’t have paid the service charge and wouldn’t be returning based on the very very poor service."

"We had a lovely Coronation day Saturady lunch at Browns in Victoria. There was a small mix up at first as I had booked for a party of 6 people, the 3 Course set menu for £19.50ish, through The Fork. However when we arrived, although the restaurant was expecting us, we were informed that the set menu was only available Monday to Fridays. We spoke to the manager and he was very helpful and gave us the set menu. He dealt with the situation very nicely and we had a really nice experience. The food especially the chicken and leek pie, was great and the staff were all very friendly . I would highly recommend this place. Thank you"

"the service slowly bordered what I prefer. our main courses (shin of beef and pork belly was delicious and highly recompiled and full of taste. our drinks did not come as served on the gin menu, but were also beautiful. but the desserts were really dissapointing. the sticky toffee pudding (with porridge oats above sure that it said granola. was very dry (possibly overheated and lacked toffee sauce to keep it moist. the horns had ginger crystals and the ingwer overpowered the toffee aroma, it would have had ginger ice that I would have thrown out and that the definitiw would have been too much for a sticky toffee not sticky ginger pudding. my friend had the bomb that didn't melt as much as it should and came in the ground on a bed of cocopops and far too many makes it sick."

"the evening was with very good service by emily. I have a complaint when shopping for a long day around 17 o'clock, we asked if we could dive. the managerin in the writing asked if we had a booking that we replied to no. she continued saying that the restaurant was booked all night, what we answered ok then we will only stay for a drink. While I was waiting for my man to serve, I looked online and from 6.15 o'clock there were tables so I booked 6.15 o'clock at 17.30 o'clock was another manager present and I said we had a table at 6.15 o'clock, but if you were available we would like to eat earlier. she informed us that we had the table if we wanted it. that were 30 minutes after we asked the first managerin who told us that the restaurant was spelled all night. very upset, but very grateful for the second manager."

"The food was good and service was very attentive but the experienced was rushed, noisy and not relaxing at all. The restaurant wasn’t full but the kitchen pumped out dishes out like they had been preprepared, with entrees arriving before our aperitifs, mains arriving just as the entree plates were taken away without a chance to ask for a second drink. We ended up having to ask to slow the whole dinner down. The music was loud, obnoxious and terrible, the dessert both pre- prepared and soggy but undercooked, and the dessert wine glass was so heavy I could’ve clubbed some over the head with us. More finesse and recognition that people want to have a romantic, Saturday night out would’ve been appreciated."

"It was utterly freezing inside the restaurant which spoilt the whole experience. Eating with a coat on doesn’t do it for us. All patrons were sat one side of the restaurant and our table was overlooked by patrons above us on a platform which was extremely overbearing. We asked to move to a vacant table against the side wall and the waiter told us it would take 10 minutes to clear the table ready for us and meantime refused to take our order until we were sat at the new table! Bizarre! The restaurant should have warned us via telephone ahead of time that the heating was so poor instead of announcing it on arrival. Do not visit until the weather heats up! Birthday lunch was a disappointing experience."
