"After a very good afternoon doing the Potter Trail, we came across this wee gem. I was with my Daughter, Son in law and Granddaughter and newly born Grandson. We were made to feel very welcome and the food was to die for. We had a starter of Calamari and Mussles, both were fantastic. I had a calzone pizza which i have to say has been the best i have ever tasted. Compliments from daughter of her pizza and son in law polished his off in no time. Staff were fantastic, on the ball, very friendly and attentive. Would certainly recommend, and we will certainly be back soon."

"We occasionally meet chums in Newmarket and this Italian was the place we agreed to meet for lunch. First time for us and overall a pretty good effort. Requested a better table but they couldn't accomodate the request, when obviously they could but no biggy . The food was good but not what I would call spectacular but would gladly go back and eat there again, so I would urge you to do the same. I think the trouble is we holiday in Tuscany, and frequent several high end Italian restaurants here in the Midlands. We may have been spoiled but seriously, this is a place I would gladly eat at again when next in Newmarket and as I said would urge you to have a run at it too. "I found the atmosphere to be relaxing and enjoyable. Even though the restaurant was quite the sense of relaxation was very nice. I had the Potato Skins with cheese and ham followed by the steak, mushroom and mustard sauce on a bed of tagliatelle. The sauce for me was very smooth and tasted like velvet with a very subtle kick. The side salad what plentiful and crisp with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and cucumber. The dressing was very sharp and sweet that cut across the pallet nicely. Unfortunately I was unable to try the deserts but went with the vanilla ice cream again very nice. Thank you guys please keep up the excellent service and work."

"Positives food lovely, service good Negatives very disappointing portion size for Lasagne nd Pizza. Considering price did not think good value, particularly the Lasagne which was more like size expected for a starter. Could have had a 2 course lunch deal each at Miller Carter instead for same price and doubtful would return although can't fault service or tastiness of food."

"This place really lets Pizza Express down as a brand. It is cramped, the toilets are off the kitchen and have broken hand dryers. The waiter did not want to take our order and the pizzas were almost burned. Never again next time it will be Carluccio's or Cote! If I hadn't been visiting with a guest I would have walked out but it wasn't really an option. Pizza Express food is overpriced but in other branches you normally have better food, ambiance and service. Do yourself a favour and go elsewhere."

"We were a walk on to this restaurant and afterwards wished we had kept on walking. Food was bland and uninspiring, decor the same. Waiting staff are not the most helpful. So the food, my wife, had the chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce, which was bland and very thin, not as described. Well, as you say, chefs with over 40 years of experience should know what they need to do. As for me giving lots of negative reviews, I don't think I have only given my humble opinion. When food is poor, what can I say, I can only give a review on what is presented in front of me. Sorry if that offends."

"I chose to take my wife here for Valentine’s Day I had already read previous reviews so I knew there was no menu to choose fromOn arrival we was met with a friendly attitude and had a choice of tablesWe was unsure of exactly what dishes we would get we was asked if we like fish but we said no for starters we were given Parma ham which was absolutely delicious followed by tagliatelle Bolognese which is one of the best I have ever tasted then we had a further course presented to us of ravioli which again was deliciousThen came the confusing part we thought that was it so with a language problem we was asked if we wanted deserts so we said yes and had deserts we then realised all of the dishes had not been presented so I opted to have a further course of ravioli then a extremely delicious prawn dish came out followed by the speciality of a suckling pig all of these meals were absolutely faultless the service was exceptional with a lot of humour which we enjoyed some people may be put off by that but each to their ownI would say this is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited with exceptional food we also had a bottle of wine, a Pepsi and Our bill was £80For the amount of courses we had this was excellent value for money we would definitely visit again we ended up sitting with a few other couples towards the end of the night which just made the night complete and made new friendsAs the previous reviews have said just arrive sit back and enjoy you will not be disappointed"

"Food was lovely as always and staff are very friendly. But there was a large party in, and it was very very noisy along with the very loud music it was unbearable to sit in there. people were walking in for a table and walking out again because of the noise. They lost a lot of customers because of this . I think this party should have been upstairs to make as much noise as they liked but it disturbed all the other customers I mentioned it when I paid and was told there was nothing they can do about it Yes you can there's a upstairs, put noisy party's up there instead of in the middle of the restaurant disturbing people while they eat."

"After we arrived at 17.45 a.m. for our jubile meal (we were asked if it was a special occasion to be booked and I said it was) they had a high-time reception so it was busy. I went into the bar and got two drinks and said I had a table booked to be informed that the restaurant was closed because of the high time, I said I had booked and voted my disregard. she went to see someone and said yes ok, but if they want their drinks first, when the waitress was busy with the high time! After 45 minutes I went back to the bar and asked what was going on, we were shown in the restaurant that looked more like a billard room. there were no tables and no one else in it. the waitress put our knives and men and a paper napkin, not yet a table cloth. she took our drink order, but we had to explain what brut meant, a bottle prosecco and a pint store. the menu was entered on a simple A4 sheet on a clip board, this was not the menu on its website. we looked around and there was no atmosphere, music was just quiet, it was more like a worker club! After we looked at the menu, we both decided that this was not for us, so I went back to the bar and informed us that we were going, but the waitress had already decorted the prosecco and poured the pint so that I paid £33 for the soaking and left. twice the waitress told us that she had told someone to take the menu from the website. that is the worst culinary experience we have ever experienced."

"Popped in for lunch whilst waiting for the train back home after the euros (Sco v Eng) because after a few days in London, still during restrictions, couldn’t face another major chain ‘take out’ for convenience and we had time to kill. I was a...bit concerned as there was nobody else in and it was so still lunch time. However, I had not needed to worry- the waiter was very attentive and welcoming, the restaurant was spotless including the toilets and it has a prime location over the road from Kings Cross station. We ordered two pasta dishes which were very reasonably priced and and a generous portion at that. I have been to Italy many times and the food at La Regina was in line, very tasty and authentic. I felt it was a shame that this place is possibly overlooked due to the convenience of other available options but people should give it a go, especially given the current situation I can only imagine how much independent places have struggled. That was also one of my reasons for wanting to eat in someplace like this and I was glad I did."

"we stayed in the hotel and, to be honest, did not expect much of eating. we were very pleasantly surprised! I had the pasta carbonara with creamy sauce and mushrooms that was divine. my wife had the cheese and twill cake (not vegan but veggie). both parts were plentiful and the staff was happy to swallow garlic bread (not vegan) for chips on mine. we didn't really think about dessert, but the worth knowing staff recommended the chocolate orange pudding with vegan cream and I'm so glad that she did it! that was so worth and wonderful."

"Simply superb. We chose this pub restaurant due to curb appel. It 's a beautiful old cottage with plenty of the original beams and atmosphere. I found the staff to be very friendly. I ordered an Otter Ale, I sipped it, looked at it. As I put it back on my table the landlady placed another one in front of me and removed mine. It looked a little cloudy ,she said. I want to ensure you enjoy your ale . Very impressed as I have always had to go to the bar and point it out. It was a refreshing change. We placed our order for or meal, and as always, you hope it will be OK. Our meals promptly arrived and got placed in front of us. The four of us all had different meals and could not belive how much we had. I had Pizza and chips. It was totally home made, with local produce. I have to say that this was simply the best I have ever had outside Italy. My friends wife had the pork. Being that he was formally a chef tried it. He claimed that it was award winning. The slight issue was that the plate had so much. Be warned, the food presented to you is plentiful. I can 't recall any pub restaurant that provides both customer care and amazing food. The next time I 'm in the area, I will truly call in . Thank you all at the Travellers Rest."

"When we arrived the car park was almost full at Belluno's, a good sign. The welcome was friendly and the atmosphere and room space was very good. The food is excellent with a wide choice of pasta, pizza, meats and fish, with some gluten free options too. We had no complaints with the presentation or taste, it was all excellent. Service was timely and the staff were very attentive. An excellent place for couples and families for a great night out. Its not the cheapest, but quality never is. Just to note, that we did not see a service charge, so tipping is voluntary which was nice. We gave a tip, but having the choice is good. Overall, a lovely evening out and well worth visiting for a celebration or treat at this establishment. I hope you're experience there is as good as ours was. Atb"

"Food was fantastic, service was good. Red wine was freezing, had to ask to be warmed up. Table was very sticky to touch. Would need deep clean on table to get it off not just a wipe down. Overall was good and would come back again."

"service not with a smile! for about years we have been going with mauritzios. ideal location for us as we live in rickmansworth. Eating is very good, there is no denying that, always hot and well presented, although it is now very expensive. But the workers are just so annoying, the whole experience is just soou off! it's like we're gonna do them a favor! in a series of locations it is now a rather unwilling place. we have always tried to support our local restaurants and businesses, but my family and I call time at this place a real scandal. I hope the owner maurizio reads that. the competition grows so that we will eat in future elsewhere. for the house personnel. a smile doesn't cost anything!"

"It was my son's 18th Birthday there was 17 people I phoned in advance to make the reservation. I took a list of what people wanted to eat a few days before to help the staff out, we needed to amend the time of arrival which was fine. They allowed us up early to decorate the table and surrounding area's. The service was amazing, very polite and understanding. Everyone that ate were extremely satisfied and advised there meal was excellent quality and good value for money. They even allowed us to take our own birthday cake and provided pouring cream. Amazing memories to be had and not one thing to complain about the staff so accomodating and went above and beyond. Thank you to all the staff for a lovely time. We will be booking again shortly for Mothers Day as we did last year."

"Oh dear where do I start........ upon arrival at the Bay horse hotel to be told no knowledge of our booking (first problem we were then shown to a room at the back of hotel (problem 2 I had already emailed request of room at front with balcony, still waiting for reply. however got room sorted after short wait (take advantage of bar The room big spacious, comfortable bed, but only luke warm water for the bath luckily we had shower aswell (problem 3 Having read reviews we decided to try the restaurant as we were only booked for one night stay .........what a pity (problem 4 my wife ordered the surf and turf and I opted for the dandy parmo after a short wait the waitress then caught my wife 's attention on the way to the toilet to inform her the butcher had forgotten to deliver the steak that day so can she choose something else. poor excuse has produce was supposed to be sourced locally......onto my choice the chicken was very dry with the breadcrumbs over crisped (burnt the twice cooked chips were all scrap ends, so the meal I would say was uneatable. The annoying thing being having nice background music being drowned out by music coming from the kitchen with the chef trying to sing painfully along, totally unprofessional . Never mind off out to enjoy wolsingham there is always breakfast to save the stay.(problem5 we both went for full English........YIKES.....sausages small misshaped tasteless and burnt black, two rasher 's of bacon like cardboard and fused together ended up eating the poached eggs ,tasting of vinegar so unfortunately the breakfast did not save the stay. Having now deciding to tell the waitress/ manageress of our disappointment with this excuse of a breakfast only to get a verbal apology and a promise of I will have a word with the chef but still charged 4.95 each for the pleasure. Unfortunatley we will not be coming back any time soon"

"I’ve been going here regularly for all of my adult life and never thought of writing a review. Mostly because I just assume that everyone from within 50 miles of Aberdeen knows that it is just the best place to eat in Aberdeen. Excellent food, amazing atmosphere and wonderful staff. Nico is a local legend and has managed not to age at all in the 30+ years that I’ve been going. An absolute master class in authentic Italian dining. But I feel that I’m stating the obvious here; everyone knows that Poldino’s is amazing- that’s why it’s still thriving after all this time. 10/10 every time."
"Nicely decorated restaurant. Food well presented but unfortunately nothing special. The food arrived so quickly after ordering, it clearly isn’t freshly cooked. It tasted ok but not what I would call authentic Italian. The staff were efficient but not friendly were moaning about working there. Not something customers should hear. Having read the reviews before visiting, it was a disappointment. Expensive for the portion sizes. Ok if you are in a hurry."
