"In the end, we opted for breakfast since we were starving, but later that day, we found it impossible to secure a place for Christmas dinner. Consequently, we had to settle for room service at our hotel around the corner, which was incredibly disappointing. Moreover, while we were there, the staff at 11 Cadogan Gardens appeared overwhelmed with preparations for the Christmas meal. We had to ask for basic items, such as a fork; it took five minutes after our breakfast was delivered for someone to check on us. I ordered a mimosa and was served a flute of orange juice that tasted like it had no champagne in it. To my surprise, ten minutes later, I received a separate flute of champagne! Apparently, I was supposed to mix them myself, but no one communicated that to me. While breakfast was acceptable, it definitely wasn’t worth the equivalent of around $75 USD."

"The environment was wonderful and staff were friendly and polite. I visited with my mother and they were kind enough to take a picture of us on my phone. The red bean starter was very tasty but the lamb curry main was disappointing. For our palette it lacked flavour and was bland, there were only 3 small pieces of lamb on each plate and too many slices of potato in a watery stew. Next time I will try something else as you can't please all the people all the time. It is still very much worth a visit."

"We booked this 3 months in advance and asked specifically for a window seat. When we arrived, we were seated at the table furthest away from any window.. near to the toilets and the function room! We could just see other customers, we were probably the only people with no view. As groups left, 4 tables near to or by the window became free. So we asked politely to order food and also to move to ANY CLOSER TABLE so we could see anything that resembled a view.. we were told everyone wants a window seat though . These 2 of the 4 were tables left empty for the duration of our booking and the worst bit, was new groups arrived and were seated in the others by the window in front of our eyes. There was obvious discrimination going on here. The only reasons we could fathom as to why they would do this and be so rude are: We were 3 females all other tables had a male in the group and/or they were being racist as one of our friends is Asian. We were so disappointed as this was meant to be a birthday treat and it was ruined by the staff and their lack of accommodation. Also we were beautifully dressed and some customers arrived in jeans and trainers like they 'd just walked in off the streets? Dress code? The Sky Lark in New York was absolutely amazing and this place needs to take a leaf out of their book. Overall would never recommend and we won 't be returning."

"We thoroughly enjoyed the scallops as our starter; they were cooked to perfection, just like the main courses of sea bass and grilled halibut. However, the dessert, which consisted of rose water ice cream and Turkish delight, was somewhat bland in comparison. The staff were attentive and efficient, though a bit inexperienced, but they made a genuine effort to enhance our experience. The restaurant was not busy, with an acceptable level of background chatter, although the music was a bit too loud. I plan to return and would recommend this restaurant to others."

"Firstly and importantly the online booking system was fast and efficient and gave me a reassuring feeling that I would be expected- which I was. Even though it was quite busy our table was ready when we arrived and we were made most welcome. There was a good selection on the menu and our order was taken promptly, with advice given when we asked. Our food arrived in good time and was exactly as requested. I particularly enjoyed my Mushroom Wellington and my guest enjoyed her beef roast. These were plentiful, and could not be faulted. Equally our sweet course was very enjoyable. All in all a good experience, this was our third visit over as many years and we have enjoyed each one. Thank you."

I've been here for over thirty years. in the days before the licensing we drove past our cortinas to pick beer and pizza to take on the party of the night, now I take my family there. same decor, same pizza in front of the house chris. ok I am nostalgic and some friends that I introduce do not get the obsessive hingabe. short menu that comes pizza as it comes, they begin with the discounts and they get a big bill. no delivery (ok it once during the wm) it is away from her or the autobahn. there were a few weeks back and mr nick (the pizza cook legend) was back behind the glass and a guy I played rugby, but moved away as in meilen, there was with a pizza and half dozen back for his freeze cabinet. he told me he did all six months. / another story comes in the sense. they met with an old school friend for a beer and decided that we had not been a pizza in sdp anyway for ten years at the place chris remembered directly his favorite pizza. Actually, this may sometimes be a problem if they want to change their favorite SDP from some strange reason. once I run in to get a take, stopped to chat with a friend who at the time when I got the cash to have chris already had my regular in the many without recognizing that I happen to entertain a veggie lady friend in this night. could make a rohen sweat there that later in the evening she had a little spicy, but I won't bother. the girl is now my wife and no more veggie. / these young are fast – I never command. reliable good pizza. one day it will change and I will be sour. while it is there, try a living and breathing legendary it. You think they could get drugged."

"When we were there, they said we didn't book. We ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back and said they ran out of wine, 10 minutes after the waitress with a bottle of wine back. The ordered appetizers took almost 1 hour to complain to us after 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. The main course lasted almost 2 hours to come back, had to complain several times, fortunately, that was hot, although the tip of my rice was clearly dried out. We were very loud next to teenagers (some kind of summer school) and bearded as teenagers do. Nevertheless, the restaurant should have put them into a functional room and not besides full paying customers, I do not accuse the young people at all. I felt very disappointed as this was the worst culinary experience we had for a very, very long time. The waitress worked extremely hard, I don't feel any of them is their fault. Not what you want after you have celebrated the special day of your child"

"Hmm lunch for two. Two of the least authentic attempts at Italian dishes I’ve ever had. About five pounds extra to have chicken with your Caesar salad. Came out as a retro English salad complete with a quartered tomato!! The smallest “son of nuggets” deep fried chicken bits, clearly not freshly cooked and micro croutons. The mayo/garlic dressing was quite nice and kinda tasted Ok as a whole. Plus a pretty basic carbonara that came out faster than you can boil pasta! Cooked better at home. But filled a hole!? Won’t rush back."

"absolutely one of the best dinners we had all year round. excellent in every look, but above all the taste profiles of each plate. they could make a reservation or plan to have a pint down before they dinner. taste the cullen skink (in the states that we call this fish case) and the seafood pie two of the best I have ever eaten and I am over 60 years old and reasonably priced considering that we could not eat all our dinners with just a common skink and our own evening. we have taken home enough for another dinner. the house wine was also cheap and great."

"We stayed as part of a hotel block for a wedding. Price was reasonable but if you don’t do your due diligence, be noted it’s about a 45$ ride to Edinburgh if you want to visit each way. Also all shopping and restaurants in the area close by 8 9pm. The hotel greeted us warmly but overall we felt it was average in service and cleanliness. Trashcan was still full in our bathroom on check in. Reservations for our taxis departure shuttle were lost so we had to follow up on all trips to ensure our transportation was set. The rooms are dark and with poor lighting if you are a makeup getting ready girlie. I struggled with the lighting to get ready for the wedding. Also it’s warm. Air only circulates when the key is in a holder so the room never really cooled and we had to pop windows open. Did it work for this trip? Sure. Would I go back? Likely not"

"Upon arrival, we were informed that our reservation was not on their books. After ordering a bottle of wine, we were informed that they were out of stock. However, a bottle of the requested wine eventually arrived 10 minutes later. Our appetizers took nearly an hour to arrive after multiple complaints, and when they did, they were not hot. The main course took almost 2 hours to arrive, and despite multiple complaints, the only silver lining was that it was served hot. Unfortunately, the rice was dried out. We were seated next to a group of noisy teenagers from a summer school program, which was disruptive to our dining experience. I do not blame the teenagers, but rather the restaurant for not seating them in a separate room. Overall, this was the worst dining experience we have had in a long time. The waitress worked hard, and I do not hold her responsible for the issues we encountered. It was not the ideal way to celebrate our child's special day."
