"In the end, we opted for breakfast since we were starving, but later that day, we found it impossible to secure a place for Christmas dinner. Consequently, we had to settle for room service at our hotel around the corner, which was incredibly disappointing. Moreover, while we were there, the staff at 11 Cadogan Gardens appeared overwhelmed with preparations for the Christmas meal. We had to ask for basic items, such as a fork; it took five minutes after our breakfast was delivered for someone to check on us. I ordered a mimosa and was served a flute of orange juice that tasted like it had no champagne in it. To my surprise, ten minutes later, I received a separate flute of champagne! Apparently, I was supposed to mix them myself, but no one communicated that to me. While breakfast was acceptable, it definitely wasn’t worth the equivalent of around $75 USD."

"The environment was wonderful and staff were friendly and polite. I visited with my mother and they were kind enough to take a picture of us on my phone. The red bean starter was very tasty but the lamb curry main was disappointing. For our palette it lacked flavour and was bland, there were only 3 small pieces of lamb on each plate and too many slices of potato in a watery stew. Next time I will try something else as you can't please all the people all the time. It is still very much worth a visit."

"when we were there, they said we didn't book. we ordered a bottle of wine, half an hour later they came back and said they ran out of the wine, 10 minutes after the waitress returned with a bottle of wine. the ordered appetizers took almost 1 hour to complain to us after 3 times, once arrived they were not hot. the main course lasted almost 2 hours to come back, had to complain several times, to the luck was hot, although the tip of my rice was clear dried out. we were next to teenagers (some kind of summer school) very loud and around like teenagers. Nevertheless, the restaurant should have put them in a functional room and not beside fully paying customers, I do not blame the youth at all. I felt very disappointed as this was the worst culinary experience we had for a very, very long time. the waitress worked extremely hard, I don't feel that any of them is their fault, not what they want after they celebrated the special day of their child"

Stopped for a drink and snack over £15 for nachos, which was a sad plate of Doritos with microwaved cheese and dips reminiscent of a kids birthday party. Terrace looked amazing in the sun but there were piles of plates and glasses on every table, clearly hadn’t been cleared in hours and as a result there were wasps everywhere. "We thoroughly enjoyed the scallops as our starter; they were cooked to perfection, just like the main courses of sea bass and grilled halibut. However, the dessert, which consisted of rose water ice cream and Turkish delight, was somewhat bland in comparison. The staff were attentive and efficient, though a bit inexperienced, but they made a genuine effort to enhance our experience. The restaurant was not busy, with an acceptable level of background chatter, although the music was a bit too loud. I plan to return and would recommend this restaurant to others."

"kim and her team have made a top job for mamas woke. the venue was ideal for our event with 50 guests. the employees were all very polite, respectful and efficient. before the event they ensured that the room was set up on request and was very flexible when fulfilling our wishes. we received many comments from our guests about the quality of the buffet food and when we went back the next day to the pieces we left there, we stopped at lunch what was really good. this jewel of a pub is a little off the beaten stretch, but we will be worth the visit. there is a good round 45min to walk and dog friendly, we will definitely return for a place of lunch."

We were asked to wait outside and it had started raining.I was asked for the name and booking details. The staff brought the book and could not find our booking so went to ask the owner. The owner came with the book and told us someone called and cancelled our booking and she could not do anything about it. We tried to say why would we do that and she was not willing to listen. The restaurant may have cheekily cancelled our booking if they had shortage of tables. Never again shall we go there. Worst customer service.."

"A hidden gem in Southampton! I drove two hours to discover this fantastic restaurant. The service was exceptional; we were warmly welcomed upon arrival. We ordered some starters that were quite satisfying, followed by an incredible spaghetti allo scoglio. The fish was freshly sourced, and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The desserts were absolutely delicious as well. Surprisingly, the prices were even lower than those at some chain restaurants! I can’t wait to return soon for another taste of Italy."

"The service at this restaurant was terrible. It took a long time for the server to take our order, even though there were only 2 other occupied tables in the restaurant at the time. When our food arrived, we had to order more drinks ourselves, as the server did not check on us. Plates were not cleared after we finished eating, and we did not see the server again for nearly 2 hours. We had to go to the front to pay because we couldn't get anyone's attention. Despite the poor service, the food was delicious, fresh, and well-prepared. It's a shame that we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the lack of service."

"We stayed as part of a hotel block for a wedding. Price was reasonable but if you don’t do your due diligence, be noted it’s about a 45$ ride to Edinburgh if you want to visit each way. Also all shopping and restaurants in the area close by 8 9pm. The hotel greeted us warmly but overall we felt it was average in service and cleanliness. Trashcan was still full in our bathroom on check in. Reservations for our taxis departure shuttle were lost so we had to follow up on all trips to ensure our transportation was set. The rooms are dark and with poor lighting if you are a makeup getting ready girlie. I struggled with the lighting to get ready for the wedding. Also it’s warm. Air only circulates when the key is in a holder so the room never really cooled and we had to pop windows open. Did it work for this trip? Sure. Would I go back? Likely not"

We were furious, why couldn't we have at least gotten a call or an email to cancel our booking.Later found out the owner has decided to close permanently shame he gave no thought to actually doing the decent thing and telling people.We hadn't had a child free night out since before covid, had paid a babysitter and for taxis.....shame there was no Michelin Star service or thought to customers. "For several months I drove passed a couple of Riverview signs on my way to visit my mum who lives in Hamsterly. On one visit, I thought I'd pop down into Blackhall Mill to see if I could get something tasty to have with a cup of tea... I wasn't disappointed. Fresh produce included: breads, cream cakes, biscuits, scones along with a large selection of savoury items.. can also pick up milk, fruit and veg. as well. Oh, they're also serve a limited menu of takeaway meals. Don't know why I'd left it so long to call in.. I now call in every time I visit mum. I'd def. recommend give the bakery a try.."
