"The restaurant is lovely, but our experience was disappointing. There were 6 of us and the food was not good. The lamb kebabs and lamb chops were tough and unpleasant to eat. The service was also poor, with the waiter only attending to us when called. After paying a high price for poorly cooked food, we decided to never eat at hotels again. We had much better meals at other local restaurants such as Sawil and Marie Venna."

Our waiter, Gareth, was fantastic; when a cocktail he recommended was unavailable on the Eighteen menu, he quickly went behind the bar to make it himself since the staff at Eighteen were not prepared to stray from their set menu. We were immediately greeted and informed about the brunch options (i.e. buffet versus brunch specials and other adjustments, such as turkey bacon instead of pork). I think this is a great place for a relaxed brunch and definitely for a mother-daughter date. We loved the food and the service. We drove to a Groupon and will definitely drive again without the Groupon. Worth it."

"I have been going to this restaurant for years for special occasions, and it has always been fantastic. However, on my last visit for a first date, things went completely wrong. We ordered two different steak meals, each with a different cooking style and sauce. When the meals arrived, they had the wrong sauces and were cooked incorrectly. I spoke to the manager about the issue, but it led to an awkward situation. I asked for the meals to be prepared correctly, but was told that mine would then be cold. Instead of replacing the meals, we ended up accepting what we were given. This disastrous experience ruined my first date and I ended up paying over £89 for it. It was definitely not a Marc Pierre moment. Since then, I have taken my business elsewhere. It's unfortunate, as I used to really enjoy this restaurant before this incident."

My fiance and I shared a barbecue chicken pizza and a calzone — the calzone was okay but rather unremarkable (especially for the price), but the pizza was just awful: far too salty, barely any trace of proper barbecue, and without any exaggeration at all the chicken bits tasted of fish instead of actual chicken. Did not want to cause any fuss so I didn 't bother speaking to a manager after being offered the option after giving feedback — this is the first and last time I 'll be dining here."

"Went for lunch on Saturday with my husband and sister in law. Have been to this pub quite a few times and although the service has never been fantastic I was shocked at how bad it was. The last time we came (a few months ago) it was awful but we said we would give it another try as the food is nice and it’s a good looking pub. We were shown to our table and 10 mins later no one came over. There was no staff in the restaurant part at all for the whole meal. Had to go to the bar and ask to order, was told someone would be with us in 2 mins. 5 mins later a girl came to take our order. Bit of a side point but you wouldn’t know she worked there as she was in ripped jeans and a strappy top (not really appropriate). Food came out in acceptable time. 2 of the 3 burgers were a bit burnt and not great but the chips were really nice. No one came over to ask if our meals were ok. No one came over to clear our plates. No one came over and asked if we wanted coffee or desert. We got up and went to pay at the bar as there was no one around to ask for the bill. When we paid no one asked if everything had been ok. We would have ordered desert and coffee but got so sick of waiting (the restaurant was very quiet) we went to BIGS deserts down the road. Such a shame but the staff need a shake up in this place as it could be great. I’ve given it a second chance and won’t be giving it a third."

"Soooo good. The pasta was amazing, I can’t recommend the spicy tomato sauce enough (thought the ranch was kind of meh). I do wish they gave you more than 3 free toppings though, especially considering that I did get a medium bowl instead of the small. The servings are incredibly generous, and you won’t leave hungry for sure. The mini pizzas are kind of nice, though I was expecting something different. I really liked the bread they used and would love an option without the cheese. The chocolate brownie was also lovely. They also do a generous student discount, which I appreciate. All in all, a wonderful place with wonderful food and great staff."

"Never on a Saturday. The table that was ordered early had not been reserved, which was initially confessed to OpenTable. I didn't accept that, then they told the truth afterwards. A preliminary information about it would have been nice. But the food wasn't good at all. The Angus fillet, the dish on the menu, consisted of an end piece, half flat and dry, even though the birthday had been pointed out. With the veal schnitzel, the breading lay loosely on the meat, and the bad food is heavily devalued. I've been to Henny's a couple of times during the week, and I was thrilled despite the insane volume on site. For the time being, I'm going to distance myself from this place"
