"My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the Good Egg. The mezze dishes we ordered were full of flavour, in particular the pumpkin hummus and whipped feta with dill were outstanding. The pita was fluffy and lightly topped with za’atar and olive oil, whilst the pickle plate may not be to everyone’s liking but I couldn’t help but devour the dish! A must order from the small plates section was green falafel and zhoug which was served on a bed of creamy smooth tahini. I was not disappointed with my pomegranate margherita (an off the menu cocktail order), it was vibrant, refreshing and sweet. Whilst I would return for the amazing dishes, the service was appalling at Good Egg and a real let down. We frequently had to grab the attention of our waitress to order, they were inattentive and stand offish when we spoke to them. Sadly this makes coming back to the Good Egg unlikely as the overall service was far from hospitable."

"We had a lovely meal for my birthday the food and venue were equally amazing and its all presented beautifully, we will return to try the menu variations! I must mention that some of the plates were very small portions for the price particularly the veggie/salads where you'd expect bigger portions for the same price as meat, glad we ordered 2 x baskets of bread! Sardines would be better hot, as a pescatarian/veggie there is limited choice for hot food, all hot food was meat based. No cheese menu, ordered cheese, didn't know what we got!"

"I 've been to Nanban before and loved it but this meal was marred by poor service and one very rude waitress. Everything was fine until we were brought the menu for a second time to look at desserts and then no one came to take our order. We were sat in a corner at the front and another couple were also waiting to order their mains. I had to wave to get the waitress 's attention for both tables in the end. It was pretty irritating. A different waitress then brought us the green teas we had ordered and announced that usually, customers were only allowed to stay at a table for two hours but she wanted to let us know that she 'd checked with her manager and it was ok for us to stay and finish our drinks. When I tried to point out to her that the only reason we 'd taken so long was because no one came to serve us, she spoke over me and kept saying: 'I 'm telling you that it 's ok to stay ' as if she was doing us a favour. I asked to speak to the manager who is a lovely guy but I don 't think anyone really understood why the situation was so annoying. If you want to get customers through your restaurant in a couple of hours then try serving them faster."
