"One of my best destinations for Italian cuisine. They are unique with their selection of fresh pasta and tasty sauces. I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese, gamberettie spinaci, and fungi pizza. I liked the pasta, but the pizza was not as good because the mushrooms were not fresh, they were canned mushrooms. Also, they don't service katchup for some reason, so I didn't enjoy the pizza at all. Finally, I ordered a chocolate moose dessert, it was good as well."

"Staff were really friendly and found me a table in the bar area on a busy Saturday night. Service was attentive and my vegetarian lasagne and brownie were delicious, as was the raspberry muddle cocktail. I was too late for the earlybird deal, but even so it was reasonably priced. "We visited this restaurant on our first night in Durham as it was close to where we were staying. I am delighted that we did as the food was really good. There was a very good choice of main meals and also desserts. I can thoroughly recommend the chicken dishes and also the pannecotta. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned again on our last night. The service was very good and our waiter was especially attentive and helpful as I have to eat gluten free. Thank you for two very enjoyable and tasty meals out."

"We stumbled across this restaurant after attempting to get a table at ASK Italian, our usual haunt, only to discover they were taking bookings only. What a brilliant find. No fuss, just great, friendly service and really, really good food. The front window looked like it had been vandalised and awaiting repair, which could easily put people off (town louts! but it shouldn't. We will come back here next time we are in York. Can't recommend the delicious food and great service more highly. Could probably do with a little makeover inside but that didn't matter at all."

"Absolutely amazing from start to finish. Staff are incredible. Helpful and friendly. The food us delicious. It was my daughters birthday when we were there and they made it so special for her. "We just popped over the road from the office, totally on spec for a hot lunch. Received a very warm welcome and were sat very quickly and offered a drink while we browsed the menu. I had alcohol free beer that actually tasted like proper continental larger, pleasant surprise one. Ordered the goulash with dumplings, pleasant surprise two. The beef fell apart, the dumplings were light and the goulash sauce was delicious and the portions generous. Good value for money. The only downside is that there's no place to have a quiet after lunch snooze. Really recommend this place and in winter weather the food hits the spot. Don't be put off by the exterior of the building, venture in and you'll be well looked after and pleased with the food."

"There was a large group of us, so we pre-ordered in advance. Unfortunately due to a bus breakdown, some of the parties were running late and the team were very helpful and understanding of the delay. They asked us when we were ready and we didn't go long without empty drinks in the meantime. The food was great, the staff were attentive and lovely and we were all happy with our food. Good vegan options as well, which doesn't go a-miss! Our main server was great too, I believe her name was Emma but I can't be sure. She was so helpful, kind and patient with our big group."

"We order from Bad Owl on a regular basis. Whether it be lunchtime delivery or board room platters, the packages are inexpensive, reliable and good quality. The owner Daniel is a brilliant Barrister who knows so much about the sourcing, creation, process and delivery of coffee. It's quite staggering as to how knowledgeable he is in this area. The team are always warm and welcoming. Overall it's great to see a local business doing well. Our accounts team use their online ordering facility on their website which is very easy and quick to use."

"Didn't know this place was even there. Very retro looking inside, like an Italian. Don't let that put you off though. Both the food and service were great. Our waitress was really nice and offered us the pre-theatre menu despite it being past time for it. Food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were really generous. After the good food and brilliant service we got another good surprise when the tiny bill arrived. We had three courses each and a bottle of wine for Such good value. We agreed we would definitely visit Azzurro again."

"What a rare thing a great evening out. Great atmosphere before we went inside, with music playing on the street. Given choice of tables, even though already full at 1830! Taken to table, offered drinks, order taken. Drinks delivered and dinner order taken. A few extras asked for, no problems, did not miss a beat. Food arrived after only a little wait, clearly cooked fresh, hot and tasty. Parmesan and black pepper added promptly. Food delicious and hot great variety of different pastas. Desert to follow. Paid bill, didn't expect, ask or demand for service charge to be added, but I insisted, the service was excellent. The staff were continually on the watch for anyone needing anything. This is what a restaurant as houkd be like. So often they don't care. Little Italy cares and deserves the highest recommendation. I never give 5 stars, but they deserve every one. Well done, give yourself a treat and go here. Enough said!"

"After booking through OpenTable, I received a call to confirm my reservation. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was greeted by delightful smells and a great atmosphere. We were led to our table where we were informed about the specials and had our choice of wine and water brought to us. The staff, who were happy and friendly, went out of their way to accommodate a family group next to us who were ordering various dishes from the menu. We opted for the steak meal for two, which was cooked perfectly, and enjoyed a bottle of Rose. I highly recommend trying the Dianne Sauce with your steak. The dessert was also delicious and the attentive and cheerful staff were more than willing to cater to our every need. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant and will return next time I am in the area. Thank you for a wonderful evening."

"we had a great time in cru, my birthday contract, which was amazing eating, the personal was excellent and attentive, I loved the white wine, best I had, I like white and often have hardships to get a medium, not dry. that was delicious and really perfect for me. it was very cool in the restaurant, so was also comfortable for me as the temperature was unusually high outside. we will definitely come back and tell friends about it."

"very disappointing waitresses were not Italian, but roumaner, and the one who served us could not understand anything as very basic English and therefore messed up what we ordered. mt woman fish was not pleasant, and so the little part that it was not worried her! the second waitress (which proved to be responsible) apologised and gave us a whisper that was delicious."
