"Came here for something to eat/anniversary dinner before going to Sadler's Wells.....normally we go to The Gate further down towards the Theatre but its closed so we needed a new venue without just walking around. I found this on line. This was perfect.....The main courses...of Steak and Muscles we had were perfectly cooked as was the location and the staff.....especially the staff. However....the best bit was the Banoffee and Ice cream desert......just perfect and lovely....Make sure you have space for desert....I think during the day they will do lots of deserts with a cup of tea as these are all at the front of the Restaurant. There are a lot of places in this area...In our experience if you chose the F&O you will have a great meal, in a great location. Thank you for starting our evening off in a perfect way....And the Nutcracker at SW was great as well."

"One of my favourite places on the Wirral, I have been going here since it opened years ago and we often have family birthday or special occasion celebrations here. I have never once been disappointed by the food or service which is always excellent and remarkably good value. The menu is extensive and regularly updated and they have a great selection for Gluten Freeers. The outside area is perfect for lunch or a cocktail and snack in the summer and I notice they are now offering Tapas style small dishes and a light lunch menu."

"Food was amazing, we both really enjoyed our meals. Service was quick. We had starters and mains in just over an hour. We didn’t feel rushed at all though, we were just quite quick at deciding and the food arrived quickly too. We left almost straight away after eating. They’ve ruined the atmosphere a bit by trying to fit in too many tables. We felt like we were basically dining at the same table as another party which we found a bit uncomfortable. We probably won’t go again as for the price we can go somewhere with a better atmosphere and still have good food. but we would still recommend as some people don’t seem to mind as much."

"We arrived at 7:30pm to an empty restaurant and we were greeted by a polite gentleman. We had a drink and ordered our food. The food was very nice but I do feel that as we were the only people in the restaurant that it came very quickly and we were in danger of finishing our meal before we had finished our drinks. Overall we had a lovely evening and after a group of people entered we felt more at ease and less self conscious."

"direct restaurant, it is centrally located, there is no parking space. they can book, they have some outdoor seating overlooking the reading channel. eating is good, it's a little better than a gastro-sub that I would say, a modern British. there is an early bird menu, there was earlier when this is from the date, they need to book a table before 7 clock. service is moderate and friendly, it is quite consistent, I still need to be disappointed. recommended"

"Visited today with a friend, he had been to the other restaurant they have on Allerton Road and enjoyed it. So we were keen to see what the one on Hardman Street was like. Our visits was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. We were seated quickly, the server gave us the option of where we sat. We were given menus and a glass bottle of ice cold water was given to us. We soon ordered our drinks, a Diet Coke and beer and went for a version of a mixed grill they do for 2. This contained chicken and pork kebabs, sliced chicken, lamb chop, chips, coldslaw, pitta and a spicy gravy. The table was prepared for this and the food was out in 15-20 minutes. The food was excellent, the kebabs and sliced chicken were well cooked and everything had a unique flavour. We are hungry guys but this tray of food filled us easily. The servers was attentive but not overly fussing. They regularly checked all was okay and the food was nice. When we finished. Our table was cleared and much to my surprise we were brought 2 brownies with cream, on the house. These were really nice and although small, it perfectly capped the meal. We were in there roughly 1 and a half hours, and the whole experience was pleasant. The restaurants decor is traditional and clean. The bill came and for the meal for 2 and the drinks only came to £38. Absolute bargain. Highly recommend, we will be back."

"Really lovely, relaxing place to come and eat, drink a hot drink etc. They have nice options on the menu, English breakfasts and alternate options, avocado and halloumi sourdough toast etc. The inside is really nice and attractive with wooden flooring and nice decorations. The music is just the right volume, not annoying music and not intrusive enough to disturb you. I really like this place and the staff are very lovely, very polite and friendly. That's what I expect from a lovely cafe. Thankyou"

"Perhaps not strictly a restaurant review but will pass some comments on the food served at a friends wedding. Firstly the ordering process was electronic. We got sent emails when the wedding was being planned with a link to order the food. 3 choices per course I think. Needless to say everyone forgets what they ordered. But worry not my full order was printed on my name card at the wedding. Very good. All the guests on our table commented on how good the food was. Certainly better than most, if not all, weddings I have attended. A light chicken and chorizo starter. Perhaps the weakest link. The beef I had for mains was excellent. Very tender and served with good vegetables. The lemon tart was tasty. Perhaps a tiny bit on the dry side. Thinner pastry might have helped. But overall very good"

"I was working at an event at the hotel over the weekend and was slightly disappointed by the limited vegan options on the menu. However, I decided to try the vegan Moving Mountains burger with vegan mature cheese and fries. The burger had a delicious smoky flavor and was quite satisfying. Although there were only 2 vegan options available and no vegan starters or desserts, the burger was filling enough for me."
