The side dishes were also delicious and well-prepared. My friend, who had the vegetarian pasta, also enjoyed her meal. The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambiance was cozy and inviting. "Upon returning from vacation, the kids were craving Chinese food, so we decided to walk to this restaurant to place an order. The person in charge at the front took our order because the Chinese staff were too busy on their tablets. I was initially told it would take 40 minutes, even though there was only one small order ahead of us. They then changed it to 30 minutes, but it ended up taking 55 minutes!!! The quality of the food was so poor that most of it ended up in the trash. We spent £55 on terrible food and service, not to mention that the owner lied to me in order to keep my money. Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere."

"Firstly , we get a takeaway from here almost every Friday night the sushi is absolutely fantastic and the food quality overall is excellent but we always collect as despite living five minutes drive away it can be very Hap hazard in terms of accuracy and time for delivery . Last week we decided to meet friends there instead 8.15 booking , food again delicious but when we asked for plates as we wanted to share a number of dishes the saucers were produced for each of us with no serving spoons. Everything seems to be a hassle when asked for . I then asked for a coffee at 9.30 I was told in a rude fashion that no I couldn’t as the kitchen closes at 9 pm !! Despite there being another two tables still in the restaurant the bleach bucket and mop then appeared to start cleaning down the restaurant ! This included the whole way down the stairs which was completely wet as we carefully tried to leave without slipping on the freshly mop floors at 10 pm on a Friday night ! you feel like you are imposing and irritating them by eating in . So 5 outta 5 for a takeaway but 2/5 as an eating in experience im afraid ."

"This was our first time at this restaurant, but we decided to give it a try based on a recommendation from a family member. And we are glad we did! We absolutely enjoyed the delicious and abundant food offerings. The menu had a wide variety of options to choose from, making it difficult to decide. The service was excellent, with staff clearing our table promptly throughout the meal to ensure we had enough space. The prices on the menu were very reasonable, and we even got a surprise 50% discount on our meal, which was a nice bonus. "The setting of the restaurant is beautiful, but the appetizer we ordered was overpriced and took an unusually long time to arrive. The Chicken Madras, which was my main course, came out at 6:50 PM. While the rice and naan were very tasty, the madras itself was disappointingly sweet, overly tomatoey, and lacked depth of flavor. Since this was also a birthday celebration, we felt rushed and didn’t have time for dessert. We weren't the only ones facing issues; the table next to us also received the wrong drink and food orders. I have a fondness for the Penventon Hotel, having visited several times in the past and always enjoyed my experience, but last night was a complete disappointment. If you are going to offer a pre-theater dinner service, it’s essential to allow customers enough time to enjoy their meals. I made an effort to accommodate this, and it was disheartening to see such a decline in standards. I hope you can improve, as I expected much better from you."

"The staff did not bring the menu for at least 15 minutes and only brought it when we asked. We then ordered a set menu and a few extra items and some of the food never arrived despite reminding them that we were yet to receive it. We then asked for the bill (taking off the items which did not arrive) and was told by the waitress that this was not possible. We asked to speak to the manager who agreed to take a couple of items off the bill. He was apologetic and said the staff were new and needed more training. He gave us a 10 voucher. However, he decided to include the “optional service charge” in the card payment."

"I used to be a loyal patron, but I was quite disappointed when I paid £9 for a rice dish that only had 2 prawns. It felt like I could have easily prepared it at home for much less. I mentioned my concerns when I ordered 3 dishes, specifically asking for a decent amount of prawns, and I was assured they would meet my request. Unfortunately, they didn 't follow through on their promise. My daughters and I used to frequent this place, but this experience has led us to reconsider our choice. I understand your concern, and I appreciate your apology for not meeting the expected standard in your prawn dishes. It 's reassuring to know that your prawn dishes should include 4 king prawns, and it may have been an unintentional mistake. However, I won 't email you to resolve this issue. I 've experienced this problem multiple times, with the most recent occurrence just a few days ago when my daughter and I ordered the same dish, and the prawns were once again insufficient. While one mistake can be forgiven, a total of 5 incorrect dishes within a week suggests a recurring issue. We value our hard-earned money just as much as you do, and we hope for better experiences in the future. This experience has left us with no choice but to say, NEVER AGAIN."

"I've never had an insulting restaurant experience in my life. after a beautiful meal, with the exception that our medium-sized steak was burned to a crack, the restaurant had a problem with its card machine. after inserting my card it immediately said that the pencil has exceeded without the possibility to insert a pencil. After I tried three times, I asked if we could go to the next room to solve the machine problem from the table (which tried to finish her wein.) the first words the manager said while I looked seriously, did I have to call the police? I was absolutely shocked, insulted and understandably angry when I was a business owner and tried to take my employees for a nice meal. you have to pretend to smoke the place, or try not to pay while your card machine was the problem, is absolutely beyond the friend. I asked a manager and he said he was the manager! after additional argument where I had to demand that he retrieve the amount on the machine (I had to ask repeatedly) Apple pay worked well. I should also note that earlier in the evening a man at another table had the exact same issue and we heard him say he had no time to speak with a manager and wanted to pay only his bill with his card. I will not be back, and this restaurant must seriously consider training its employees in the elite. when they say they call the police on a customer when the card machine is not working crazy."

"Me and my partner decided to stop off in Bath after a weekend away and we were both very eager for a Sunday roast. After scrawling Bath's reddit page we stumbled on Chequers which definitely lived up to expectations. We grazed on Scallops for starters (which were eaten too quickly for a picture to be taken) which were incredibly succulent and had a lovely garlic butter glaze. My partner is only really a fan of Chicken in a roast so to have this was a big win as it's not often pubs do a Chicken roast. All the food was delicious and the servers were polite and efficient. Only downside is we had planned to sit in the pub and have a few drinks before our meal as we didn't really know the area but as it's quite small there was no space to acommodate us. Definitely worth a visit."

"So, if you look at all my reviews, you’ll see that we have been to Japan and eaten at nearly 15 different Japanese restaurants in London. This is very average. A lot of the food was over cooked and most of the sushi and sashimi was so cold, and not fresh, it tasted it came out of the freezer and slapped on the plate. When I looked in the kitchen, he was definitely not from Japan or East Asian in any way... The gyozas were nice, and so was the ginger okra, however when the grilled eel is soggy, king crab leg is stale and the tuna lacked flavour, I think you can tell where this review is going. The city of London is crying out for an excellent Japanese restaurant, sorry to say that this is not it."

"I had an excellent experience with the service at this restaurant, as it was polite and efficient. However, when I dined at The Fat Buddha in Seaburn a month ago, I enjoyed a meal that was fresh, homemade, and full of spices. Based on that positive experience, I decided to give this Durham location a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food here. I ordered the same dishes - chicken satay and green curry - but both had a slimy texture and lacked flavor. The green curry seemed like it was from a tin with just a few red peppers added. The food tasted cheap and fast-food like, making it difficult for me to enjoy. I left feeling unsatisfied and would not recommend this restaurant or return in the future."

"Ichiban Fusion is a staple restaurant for us. The menu is simple and straightforward, food is excellent and prices are decent. Staff are always friendly, and we’ve only once ever had an issue with an order (one plate of food being forgotten about). Having dined...there a lot, one issue isn’t a big deal, and it was sorted very quickly. Personal favs are chicken tempura and chicken yakisoba but the menu is varied and caters for a wide range of palettes and choices. Vegetarian dishes are available, and both alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks are available. And excellent place to eat, all in. The tables are long communal types, but generous with space and access, and baby seats are provided also should you require, so nice and child friendly too. Prices are reasonable, a meal for three with drinks will typically be in the category for the group. Portion sizes are good and food is delivered quickly. It’s a struggle to get Japanese food that’s even close to the real thing having worked in Japan, I like the cuisine. Ichiban Fusion is as close as I’ve came to Japanese food in Scotland. And excellent place to eat."

"The Jolly Butchers was once a great pub. The selection of beers and ciders was second to none, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. Not anymore. Gone is the feel of a proper pub which serves food to be replaced by staff greeting you as you enter and attempting to shuffle you towards a table of their choosing. Gone are the groups of local having a knees up, to be replaced by quiet tables of people eating overpriced and underwhelming food. It 's ok for pubs to change and to oppose them focussing more on food is to truly against an overwhelming tide. But pubs needn 't lose their souls, they needn 't have staff waiting to intercept you as you walk through the door. At one visit recently we sat down at a free table, only to be told after quarter of an hour that another group of people had 'reserved ' the table despite their being so sign of that previously and no one mentioning it to us. The fact that this other group was larger, and buying food, might ust have made them better customers than us. It 's with great sadness that I say I won 't be going back to what used to be a favourite pub of mine. I only hope that the few remaining other local gems don 't go the same way."
