"I had an excellent experience with the service at this restaurant, as it was polite and efficient. However, when I dined at The Fat Buddha in Seaburn a month ago, I enjoyed a meal that was fresh, homemade, and full of spices. Based on that positive experience, I decided to give this Durham location a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food here. I ordered the same dishes - chicken satay and green curry - but both had a slimy texture and lacked flavor. The green curry seemed like it was from a tin with just a few red peppers added. The food tasted cheap and fast-food like, making it difficult for me to enjoy. I left feeling unsatisfied and would not recommend this restaurant or return in the future."

Very disappointed, left waiting when we arrived, had to ask to order our food after waiting 20 mins, chicken was over cooked and waited 20mins for the bill. Won't be back

Had not been to Fat Budha for a while so thought we would go back. Overall disappointed as the food was not as good as on previous visits and in our opinion was not good value.

We were disappointed to find that the gluten-free options were limited at this restaurant. Furthermore, we were surprised to learn that all sauces are pre-made, making it difficult for the chef to accommodate special requests.

The ambiance was terrible, music far too loud and intrusive, we could not have a conversation, even placing our order was difficult due to the loudness. We will not be going again. I thought Fat Bhudda was a decent place to go for a meal with friends but they are trying to compete with local disco bars. We were thoroughly disappointed

Food and service was excellent. We dined at 7pm and were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The evening was only spoilt by a family with truly noisy and uncontrolled children. The staff should really learn to cope with these type of people and intervene where and when necessary. We will be returning but perhaps after 8pm when there will be less chance of unruly children.

Birthday celebration and had high expectations for a good night however the restart aunt is closed and we were served our meals in the bar area. How to destroy a special occasion! Absolutely no ambiance and didn't even rate as a pub meal. Such a shame as good was good but not as we expected when we booked. This meal was not cheap and we deserved to be better treat as customers. Wake up fat Buddha I will travel to Sunderland or Newcastle next time to be treat as a paying customer

Despite booking a table a week in advance, we still had to wait 40 minutes for a table to become available. When we were finally seated upstairs, I noticed at least 7 empty tables, although they were larger than what we needed for our party of two. We were disappointed to find out that the prawn crackers were not complimentary and cost £2.95. Our main course was served in a soup bowl, indicating the small portion size. Although the food was tasty, the overall experience was lacking. After spending nearly £90 on drinks, meals, and wine, we left feeling unsatisfied and ended up eating again later that night. We do not plan on returning to Fat Buddha in Durham.

"started really well and went to the counter and ordered a cream with bananas and nutella and especially gave no earthberries I also asked after a san pelegríno still water as this was on the menu. I was the first person to order and the last to eat at the end. I brought my water over which was a cheaper brand water I just had £2 for what I would like to have seen? we will, when asked for san pelligrino to say water that they do not in. Finally my crepe and I take a bite and understand that it is earthly on the whole species and wise by which I am allergic. one of my family members takes it back and says that I have asked for bananas, there is no earthly reason why I cannot eat it and did not want it on my crepe. then 5 minutes later another crêpe comes out, who was my bite crêpe, that someone had put the earthy and banan in the bananas. disgusting ... not sure whether this was a mistake or just stingy either as it did not. it is then returned because there is no way I eat, and it is explained again, there is a reason that I can not eat strawberries, to which then one of the owners passes to serve the right crepe and apology. I really hope that today a lection has been learned because cross-contamination is not a sweat. please be careful when they eat there. I didn't get any refunds offered, but then they were ready to serve me a bite crawl, so it didn't surprise me so much."
