"Really upsetting to be told by one of the chefs to go eat somewhere else if I wasnt happy! He was rude and angry , After receiving a precooked warmed up poached egg not on fresh bread as I had specifically asked the young new server who didnt understand but we can forgive her. It was an awful breakfast experience. Expensive, sticky tables and no flavour smashed avocado on a piece of cold rye bread from a packet. Other Lady upstairs was very kind and apologetic. She couldnt refund us as she explained. We didnt finish our food, the egg was horrible. I feel so ripped off, hungry and upset by this experience £34 later. I dont understand how a cafe can operate like this. The Lady on coffee offered us something else but we didnt have time to wait for any hot food. She made a coffee, im sorry to say it was disgusting and I threw it away. The croissant was not fresh and we couldnt eat it"

"Not a great evening here unfortunately. Friendly, pleasant waiter but the service from the kitchen was incredibly slow (an hour and a half between starter and main courses). Suspect there may have been a problem in the kitchen the night we were there but this wasn 't explained to us. We weren 't the only unhappy diners. The food was OK but nothing special and really nothing we couldn 't have cooked at home very simply. For £18 I would have hoped for more than a bland dish of noodles (although the sea bass was well cooked). Our desserts were a very ordinary piece of chocolate cake and an inedible cream and soggy pancake cheesecake with a watery white chocolate sauce. I guess every chef can have an off day and we 've not been before so maybe this was a one off bad experience. Fortunately the wine was good!"

"one of the secrets of edinburgh? to come into the restaurant is not nice as it is fucked behind müllcontainer. they can find themselves with the place when they go during a quiet time (I would always recommend booking) sounds like a harmful start? they never disappointed me. Eating is always excellent, wonderful American cuisine, with which I take care of my modern kitchen of people who care about good eating. I order the chicken or steak and mix it with one of their beautiful sauces. the service is great, attentive and friendly staff. that is a restaurant that serves delicious style and high quality food without the bad of the posh elitism nonsense that removes me from other restaurant of this quality."

"The food at the restaurant was mediocre and it seemed like there was a lack of communication among the staff. Despite booking a cream tea for 2.30pm on the 30th, I had to remind them about it and was told there was no booking. The cream tea I received was underwhelming with a plain scone, dry jam, butter, and half-frozen cream. When I ordered the Thai Green Chicken curry for dinner on both nights, it was not what I expected. I raised this issue with the restaurant manager, who apologized and admitted that the chef should change the menu daily. Additionally, the Eton mess we ordered lacked meringue and consisted only of cream and frozen fruit. Overall, the food quality was disappointing compared to our previous stays at the hotel."
