"Not really what I expected from a fish restaurant in the City.  I liked the rustic beachy decor, and the informal service.  Front of house was friendly and efficient but the kitchen was appallingly slow.We started with Colchester oysters which were perfectly loosened from their shells.  We did have a minute wait between ordering and actually getting our oysters. There was another minute wait for mains after getting the oyster shells cleared.  First to arrive were the sides we were sharing.  Chips were pleasant enough, but they were advertised as fish roe chips on the menu.  No evidence of fish roe.  The Asian slaw was a nice mix of finely julienned carrot, cabbage and red onion but way too salty being dressed solely with Thai fish sauce and sesame oil and black sesame seeds.  It really needed something acidic and maybe a hint of sweetness.  Up to this point, everything was off the regular Fish Market menu and fairly priced. For mains we had two orders of the crab roll and an octopus burger off the Claw menu.  Claw is a pop up and food stall that has a temporary residence at Fish Market.  Given the size and sparse amount of seafood, they were a rip off at a pop.  Not terrible, but quite disappointing.   My crab roll tasted primarily of commercially prepared mayonnaise.  Owner of the octopus burger had the same complaint. There was some samphire on my crab roll but it added more visual interest than taste.  The bread was the best part of the sandwich, being fluffy and drenched in butter before griddling.  But for a sandwich with indifferent filling and some excellent bread is pretty steep."
