"Love, love, love. The place is intimate, simply decorated but functional and clean. You can sit at the food prep area and watch it all being made in front of you. I loved sitting waiting for my food and watching things being, prepped, sliced and rolled. I found the whole experience just absolutely gorgeous. The food looked amazing and it tasted divine. Very reasonable prices and wonderfully, warm accommodating service. It does get busy so beware. "After hearing great things about Yamato, we finally decided to give it a try and I must say, it definitely lived up to the hype! The moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be a great dining experience. The restaurant had a charming decor, with fresh fish on display and a wide range of Sake options to choose from. We tried a mix of dishes we knew we would enjoy and some authentic Japanese cuisine, all of which were fantastic. The crispy sushi roll, made with tuna, avocado, lumpfish caviar, and fried rice, was one of the best I've ever had. The spicy tuna and salmon maki rolls were equally delicious and fresh. The tempura squid was tender with a perfectly crispy batter. The nigiris we ordered - Scottish salmon, bluefin tuna, and scallop - were all incredibly fresh. We also tried the Chawanmushi, which was packed with flavor. For dessert, we had the white sesame ice cream, which was creamy and nutty. We also enjoyed some sake, opting for the Yamato Shizuku. The price was reasonable for the quality and quantity we received. The service was attentive and friendly, with our table constantly being cleared and refreshed with more delicious dishes from Yamato. In my opinion, Yamato is a top contender for the best Japanese restaurant in Edinburgh."

"I have been enjoying my experience at Eat Tokyo SoHo, Old Crumpton, London for a very long time. This afternoon is my first opportunity to finally say hello a senior staff who has been looking after me at this particular branch, for as long as I remember, his name is KIM. FOOD and SERVICE at this Eat Tokyo, SOHO is way much better than Covent Garden and Hammersmith combined! The staff are much more attentive, and seeing KIM at the branch can guarantee two things, 1st the queue will run at the most reasonable time; I was made to wait 30+ minutes at Covent Garden during less busy hours and the restaurant was semi emptied at the time of visit. Therefore, best Eat Tokyo in my opinion among the three mentioned above is SoHo. Foods are good, consistent, with friendly service, please keep up this standard, And thank you for looking after me for almost a decade now."

"I have made a delivery order through its website today on time for its opening at 5pm. I have waited for an hour and no sign of any food so I've called them up for the first time and asked politely where the food is. The guy who answered the call said its nearly ready and should be with us in half an hour. So its another 30 mins wait for me but still havent received the food. So called for the 2nd time and the guy says it should be with us in 2 mins. Still not here so called for the 3rd time after waiting for 10 mins. This time, very rude attitude saying they are very busy today (okay had to reveal that on the 3rd time calling), saying we are very sorry (obvious from the tone of the voice that they are not) and said we will give you something complimentary next time I order. There will NEVER be a next time for me. I still havent got my food and its 7pm now. I will strongly recommend you to order from elsewhere. NEVER order from here, pricey yet shocking service attitude."

"I went here for my birthday with a couple of friends. My friends brought cupcakes for me and asked the waitress if she could bring it out after we had eaten. She agreed and wished me a happy birthday, as did all the other staff in the restaurant when they brought us our food! The food was so delicious, and afterwards the staff played happy birthday on the speakers and brought out the cupcakes with candles! All the staff were super kind and attentive, we even had a few complimentary maki, I imagine as a birthday gift! I had a very special birthday celebration as well as amazing sushi and would definitely come back :"

"Delicious, so many options and the portions were huge. I had a build your own bowl and it was really yummy and there was so much I couldn 't finish it. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of space upstairs to sit and outside benches too. Their ethos is cute as well, lovely ethical choice in the lanes. Vegetarian options: Amazing veggie options Service: Dine in"
