"During our week in Alnwick, we dined at this restaurant three times. The first time, we hadn't made a reservation but they were able to accommodate us. We were glad they did because we didn't want to miss out on this place. They have a wonderful selection of wines by the glass, including red, white, and rosé, and everything we tried was fantastic. I would definitely recommend making a reservation as the restaurant was always busy, and it's easy to see why. The prices were reasonable, and I highly recommend this place for delicious food and excellent service."

"There is a very extensive range of vegan options from burgers to ramen and salad! The concept of the place is also quite quirky as you order on a tablet attached to your table! At the end of the day it is still a fried chicken chicken place but it’s good to see they are also seeing the demand to create great vegan options too"

"Didn’t actually manage to eat as despite booking 2weeks in advance there was no table for us. We waited more than 20mins outside with no information as to what was happening or how long we might need to wait. They seemed to have no system at all for how they were seating people and when I asked what the plan was they were really rude and told me to be patient. Ended up leaving to eat elsewhere as it was chaos. Also noted the screens separating the tables inside were below face height so not covid safe. Between this and the scrum of confused people waiting for their booked table I’d stay clear if you’re at all concerned about covid. Seems they really haven’t go the hang of a booking system at all."

"Bar Gumbo in the West End had New Orleans styled comfort food. I loved it, as did by partner. We tried a good selection of the menu before they had their refurbishment so we were excited to try it again. The restaurant is a lot brighter than it used to be and now serves lots of seafood and grill selection. It's a nice place to eat if in the area."

"We would have got better value had we gone to wow burger. The floor staff ignored us multiple times. We ordered gyosas for starters and two mains. We got one of the mains and after waiting a good 10 minutes, while waiting for my partner's main and after being ignored by 2 different people, a lady who seemed to be in charge came over to see if everything was okay. I explained our order and asked her if she could place my food under the lamps to keep it warm while the other main arrived. She took my plate after apologising and went to the pass to check. The second main came over but not together with mine, the lady who broughtit drop the plate and threw some cutlery on the middle of the table and carried on. When the blond lady in charge was passing by, noticed I didn't get my food and went back to the pass for it. We didn't get the starters after we were almost finishing our mains. 5 burnt and cold gyosas. It was sad. We didn't even try to stay for dessert as we were already too disappointed. My first time trying this restaurant was December 2020 when restrictions were lifted and every place was short-staffed, I had the same experience with staff. It seems to be the standard. They all seem to be very disinterested and unapologetic. Some other customers in the tables around us had the same experience. Two young ladies ordered their food around the same time as we did. One of them got her main and after she had finished the other one only received hers. Kudos to the blond lady, she was the only one who truly engaged with us."

"We had an amazing family meal at The Blue Bell Crookham, with a menu featuring pub classics and a variety of appetising dishes including Ramen and Buddha Bowls. There were plenty of healthy options and choices for vegetarians or those avoiding dairy and gluten. The restaurant was very busy, which is a good sign, and the staff were professional, friendly, and clearly enjoyed their work. The food was fantastic, with melt-in-your-mouth Scottish Beef, a delicious Buddha Bowl, and the freshest Breaded Haddock. The desserts, particularly the Profiteroles and Chocolate Strudel, were excellent. The drink selection was great, with top-quality options including a local ale. We will definitely make the effort to return to this restaurant for another outstanding meal and wonderful service. Highly recommended!"

"Have seen this restaurant on previous visits to Blackpool, but never had the opportunity to visit. This time we did, but we were casually dressed and looking for somewhere informal PLUS we had my mum with us, who has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair. I popped in and asked if we could eat outside. This was fine. It was explained that I should take menu outside, then go back in to order and pay. We did this, and on ordering was told that the total included an optional service charge. I said we'd pay it on the assumption that the service was very good. Service was good, food was good, prices on the high side for what we got. However, overall a very nice meal."

"wow, great food, great service, I would describe this place as a gastro cafe. I had boiled lambskin for my main meal to perfection. this is almost michelin star quality eating without the price tag associated with such fantastic eating experience. if they are looking for a change in the landscape and sow really tasty, they go easy and visit this place and I'm pretty sure they will visit again. the tuning fork will be the place to eat very soon. mark my words!"

"Other people were receiving there food before us even though we ordered before them. I don’t think our order was given to the kitchen. Had to remind them about our order, once it finally came out the order was wrong my girlfriend received a beef boa bun she had one bit and realised it was meat (she’s a vegetarian). We told the staff it was wrong so they came back again with the wrong order. She received the prawn boa bun when she ordered the vegan tofu one. The manager asked who took our order (it was him) so he clearly didn’t remember or just didn’t put our order though. Finally received the correct food with no apology. So wasn’t great experience tbh..most likely won’t go again"

"Absolutely loved this quiet little tea house just around the corner from the Minister just up from the main shops; an ideal location. Most options were vegan on the mains menu, nearly all drinks could be made vegan most of the cakes on the daily cakes board were also vegan...so many options it was hard to choose! I got the tofu teriyaki mayo donburi bowl (with miso soup of course which was super tasty a really good size portion, then I couldn't resist a vegan matcha blondie, which was yummy, although I think you'd have to be a bit of a matcha addict like me to appreciate it. Will definitely be going again. ~Edit (04/02/22 Was super excited to hear they were doing a Veganuary 3 course set menu it did not disappoint! For a very fair £20, we had the most delicious traditional Japanese food unlike anything else I've ever tasted. For mains I had the Umami spaghetti; was better than any Italian pasta I've ever had! And for dessert the matcha zenzai, which was so bizarre to me, but really nice (though as in my previous review, I'm just a teeny bit biased towards matcha things Would definitely recommend actually they're running the Veganuary menu into March so still plenty of time to try it! Updated from previous review on 2021-12-09"

"We're regulars at this little gem of a restaurant and have introduced our friends to it too. The food has been wonderful every time we've visited and when we've done take away! Particular favourites are the sushi rolls, the tempura prawns and vegetables (amazing! and the Chicken Deopbap. If you're thinking of going, you won't be disappointed."

"First time we have tried Avanti and were very happy with our meal and the overall experience of the restaurant , however the waiter seemed a bit pushy, we ordered drinks and starters, the waiter was hovering over our table every 5 min asking us to order main course, in the end we had to ask him to leave us be for 15 min, enjoying a meal out with friends and family should be an occasion not a mere need to eat function, would of expected more from an authentic Italian restaurant."

"We were not prepared for the flavour journey Kazoku we're taking us on. Beautiful, simply. Divine. Magical. A journey through taste that we haven't experienced before. The plum wine, the serving of the food in intervals, the clinical knowledge the staff had of the food. We would like to personally commend the chefs for allowing us to try their food. We will be back, we would book a hotel just to visit again. Nothing more needs to be said, visit and divulge into what can only be described as brilliant. Congratulations, phenomenal. Thank you."

"my party of four went to maneki for the meal karaoke deal. the choice of food for this deal was limited, but the meals were all very good and fill. we also got a bowl of mistsuppe, which was a beautiful surprise! the staff was also very helpful in relation to the allergies of our companions. I really enjoyed the karaoke. there was a good selection of songs, although there were some popular artists like outkast missing, which was a little disappointing. the karaoke software is also a little tricky to navigate first, but they get used to it eventually. the size and mood of the karaoke room was good. Overall, I would recommend maneki for anyone who wants to try karaoke for the first time, especially if they wish a decent meal before."

"PHENOMENAL, the best fish and chips and they’re even gluten free! Mind blowing, I mean I’ve travelled all around Devon/England scouting out the best fish and chip place and it was by far the the crunchiest, scrummiest, and most freshly caught fish I’ve had in my life. The chips were too good, so much flavour and crunch. The mushy peas were delectable, the mint really made them so special. Rocket the dog was such a sweetheart! The pub itself was nice and clean and well decorated. Overall great atmosphere, fabulous food, and stellar drinks, couldn’t recommend enough!"

"The service was fast and waiting staff were friendly and chatty. The food was okay, decent for the price. Not many vegetarian options which was disappointing. Would happily return for drinks when the inside is open as it looks amazing! Good place to stop for some food if doing an Osborne road bar crawl into Ouseburn"

"Eating is really good. But it ensures faster biting. My friend and I have the tasting menu. All foods and drinks come too fast to really enjoy the meal. This is a shame, because the food is really good and suitable to enjoy the food and drink slowly."
