"A really enjoyable meal on our first night in the Cotswolds, in the restaurant most recommended by my mate’s uncle (he stays locally). This award winning gastro pub, situated just off The Hill in the heart of Burford (Witney Street to be exact), very much mirrored the rustic, traditional feel offered in the other local pubs. We managed to get the only table left, right next to the bar, and to be honest it was a cracking location. We managed to have good banter with the lad behind the bar, as well as the woman that spoke to us later in the night both were very welcoming and friendly! Top level hospitality all round. I was craving a Burger and to my delight, it was on the menu. I don’t believe the photo quite does it justice but I can assure you, at 9pm at night it didn’t take long in disappearing from that plate. Cooked to perfection, it was a thick cut of meat and nothing overly fancy just a really good Burger (30 day aged Beef by the way). The Chips were crunchy and devoured (a tiny bit more in portion size would have been nice, but I’m being picky). The selection of Ales on offer added to the impressiveness of this place. Overall, for the meal and three drinks (including a tip), it was £40. Money well spent for a memorable experience. Yet again, another five star establishment produced by the Cotswolds area."
