"It's quite a small restaurant, fairly local. The menu is quite short but has interesting choices. We chose Parma with celeriac and beans starters and steak and ravioli for mains. Plus a bottle of their excellent house red, from Benevento E of Naples and reasonable at £24. The steak proved to have just run out (a good sign! but they had a not on the menu portion of duck instead. We swapped both courses half way and all four dishes were rather special. The beans came with red onions and a sauce of aged parmesan, shallot and chives which was so delicious we were almost licking the plate. The other starter was good too. Our mains were both sensational, a lovely big portion of duck and intense flavours of wild boar, pork cheek and juniper with the ravioli. The three front of house staff were all efficient and friendly and we really enjoyed our first visit. It reminded us of Medlar, a favourite of ours, but is much easier for us to get to. The bill for a lovely two course meal for two with wine was just over £100 with tip. Not at all bad for that quality."
