"yesterday after a visit to avoncroft with the family. had no idea what was like, but so glad we landed at ewe and lamb. friendly, polite and friendly staff. it wasn't so busy that it was good! really clean. there were five of us. we ordered to eat that lasted about half an hour (what is what we expected for what we had). many choices on the menu and everyone enjoyed what we had. we were only on the way after a day, but even though it is an hour away by car, we are happy to make the trip again. I also wrote a review on my blog. only the best come there."

"from both of us I found eating at elenas to be totally acceptable, but the price-performance ratio is a bit ho-hum. the photos of the stars that decorate the walls gives him a certain charm, but the bright lighting makes nothing for the shaded color job that lurking behind the mugs, and I felt, giving the place a caffe feeling. Some candles and somewhat lower lighting could go the inner further. I think the attention to small details makes customers appreciate. for example, why not use stainless steel eis eimer instead of plastic, which I enjoyed the chicken liver parfait, served with roasted brioche and chutney. so good. "We were a large family group meeting up for a post Christmas celebratory lunch. There were only 2 other diners apart from us, but the food still took ages to arrive and was overcooked and barely warm when it did. Grilled tiger prawns were tough and dry and the vegetarian option provided a scant 2 slices of halloumi hardly a main course portion. From such a long established restaurant with a solid reputation for quality the reason we chose it it was all hugely disappointing. I can only assume the kitchen was not fully staffed in the period between Christmas and New Year."

"Really not happy with false advertising. Sample menu states meat veg pots, however once ordered on the Thursday night offer. Only bottomless drinks whilst eating once you finished you main course it finishes or you must buy pudding. First place I've been to that the main meal is only steak at an extra £3 which was not advertised in advance) and then pay £4 for small bowl of veg and £3 for chips. So the £22 two course meal is only ok if you do not want anything else with your meat. A meal for a £22 offer with 2 people having a pudding came to £114.40 Staff not helpful about the extra costs and trading standards have been informed. Service was slow two starters came out and not the their then when it did the main meals arrived so the third person left half their soup or their main meal would be cold. Sadly the food was very nice. Too many people cramped into a small room and too noisy to talk over the other groups of people I would NOT RETURN"

"Booking for three evening meal starters were quite nice drinks were ok tou took them a few minutes to sort the procesco main meals my was fine but the fries seemed a bit too frozen style and not being fresh. The roast potatoes with the salmon were hit and miss some were very liquidity and some were right the desert were ok but the chocolate fondant nice inside but dry on the outside the restaurant understanding did some discount which I appreciate"

"I was worried about eating at the pub because of the bad reviews, but thought I give it a go. We ate there on the Friday and Saturday night as we were staying at the campsite and couldn’t be bothered to cook ourselves. The staff were very friendly and the pub has a nice atmosphere. Sadly the food lets it down. My son had the steak both nights and complained that the chips weren’t cooked enough both times, the steak was nice on the Friday but not so good on the Saturday. I had fish and chips on the Friday, which was ok, I had the lamb on the Saturday which was just alright . My other son had the burger which he said the cheese wasn’t very nice. My wife had the tartlet which was burnt around the edges and tasteless. I liked the campsite, but I won’t be rushing back to eat at the pub."

"Quite typical English pub food. Nothing out of the ordinary but quite acceptable. However, very poor for vegetarains and do not bother if you're a vegan. A menu that lacks imagination but similar to most pubs in England. Service was ok from the lady serving although an item was forgotten. Bar server was busy on her phone which left me standing at the bar for 5 minutes before she looked up!"

"great burger, pommes, donuts die. beautiful ambiente, staff very helpful, polite and served us well. the burgers are fantastic. my friends and I thought that was just for the delivery, but we saw some people at tables, so we went in. what a great surprise! open kitchen, all fresh food. great place to eat in bury st edmunds."

"A Friday night, only us in the restaurant really, one other couple came in later. Food could have been lovely, however my starter was tasty but cold. Main meal, was gnocchi which again was tasty but very undercooked. My partners chicken breast seemed like preformed chicken. Desserts of fudge brownie and crumble were both rock hard in places like they d just been nuked in the microwave, fudge brownie was really uneatable. Although we mentioned issues at the time, I felt like the waitress was so nice that I didnt have the heart to over the top complain, plus we were both hungry!! We paid the bill in full and no reimbursment was offered. Very dissapointing I m afraid, which is a shame as we ve always frequented Saltwater over the years, always one of our favourite places to eat in Notts."

"We were told that a limited menu was on offer, however the neighbouring table somehow managed to order from the full menu The food, however, was pleasant We died of old age waiting for the bill and card machine though. Almost to the point where we were beginning to think they didn't actually want to charge us for the terrible service."
