I am sad that I didn't ask the barmans name but did thank him sincerely for his help advice. He made it a perfect start to our pre theatre meal relaxation.

Went for a bite before going to the cinema, bar food menu was good value, food was tasty good service, although the waitress did seem to hover a lot, not sure if that was because we were the only group in the restaurant or she thought we would do a runner! View menu

The food at this restaurant is great, the service is decent, and the location is good. However, the loud music coming from the bar after 9 o'clock ruins the atmosphere of the restaurant. They should either distribute the music more evenly throughout the restaurant later in the evening or decrease the volume, as it is not a club. Despite this, I would still recommend the food and service.

Generally it was ok. The food was of a decent standard and the staff friendly but the restaurant was empty and the outside area was just dreary...rows of black tables and concrete slabs with a pile of rubbish in the corner. It needed lighting and plants. This was the first time we'd eaten here and it confirmed that Saltwater is still more of a late night bar with an outdoor smoking area than a restaurant.

When I visited the ladies' room, I encountered some issues with the facilities. Some cubicles had broken locks and one had an uncomfortable seat. The hand dryer was not working, and paper towel packs were used instead. Overall, my experience at the restaurant left me with a poor impression. Overall we really enjoyed the experience, staff were very attentive and we were well served. The food didn't quite hit the mark, squid for starter, although the batter was delicious the squid itself was very tough and impossible to bite through. Other half really enjoyed the beetroot salad. He had a fish main which he was complimentary of where I had a pizza which seemed a little bland. We would visit again as everything else was spot on, perhaps the menu or ingredients need a little tweaking?

A Friday night, only us in the restaurant really, one other couple came in later. Food could have been lovely, however my starter was tasty but cold. Main meal, was gnocchi which again was tasty but very undercooked. My partners chicken breast seemed like preformed chicken. Desserts of fudge brownie and crumble were both rock hard in places like they d just been nuked in the microwave, fudge brownie was really uneatable. Although we mentioned issues at the time, I felt like the waitress was so nice that I didnt have the heart to over the top complain, plus we were both hungry!! We arrived at 7.30 and the place empty except for 2 other tables. The restaurant was freezing and both my girlfriend and I had to keep our jackets on. We asked if they could turn the heating up a bit but they said that it was on full and wouldn't warms up due to a door being opened! We ordered some olives and bread to start, this was just the beginning to a disappointing meal, they were old and tasted like they had been left in the fridge next to some meat. After this we had mussels and salt and pepper squid. These came suspiciously quickly. The mussels at best were on the cold side of warm.
