"Just not a convincing or special, enough! Service hap hazard. Not enough staff, main course served twice. Some of the staff clearly untrained. Hugely over priced for standard Indian fare that you could get on brick lane or East London. The menu just looked as if it was through together, apart from the desserts which were good. Meat and fish was cooked perfectly, to be fair, but just not that good overall! Nothing special at all! At a price of for two! If your going to charge these prices even on Valentine’s Day! Everything should be slick and the menu impressive. It wasn’t The most annoying thing was the awful standard sitar music, reminiscent of your local high street curry house! Disappointing overall. It’s a shame because visited this restaurant years ago and it was much better, than it was on this occasion."

"Our evening was completely ruined when we arrived at the restaurant to find it closed for a private party, despite having made a reservation months in advance and receiving a reminder from Open Table the day before. Open Table, a restaurant booking service, was not very helpful in this situation. The restaurant eventually accommodated us in the hotel lounge, where we were told that drinks were complimentary. However, after our meal (which was decent but not exceptional), we were shocked to discover that we had been charged £220 for the "free" drinks. To make matters worse, the restaurant had trouble finding a working card machine, resulting in a lengthy and frustrating payment process. In the end, we had to rush to catch a train, leaving our daughter to settle the bill for the disastrous meal she and her sister had planned to celebrate their birthdays. Upon reviewing the bill on the train, we also noticed that a 12.5% service charge had been included. Overall, it was a complete catastrophe from start to finish."

"Bit of a featureless cavern with no charm or character. Unenthusiastic staff and terrible food. The NEW Andaman Curry sounded delicious, but it was almost impossible to get the mussels out of their shell, and when you did they were like inedible bits of rubber. The squid was exactly the same and I ended up leaving the rest of the dish. I was so concerned about the standard of the cooking that I'm worried about being ill the next day. The person next to me had a tofu dish that they took one spoonful from and left. The smell from it was absolutely appalling. The weeping tiger that was ordered by the person opposite was some sliced steak with an eggcup of salad. The sticky rice we ordered was lukewarm and congealed. This really is a chain that seems outdated and has lost its direction. The worst that London has to offer, and best avoided at all costs."

"The food was delicious, but the service was too quick (we were in and out in less than an hour, it felt rushed rather than a leisurely meal). The portion sizes were small and not worth the price. A 'optional' 12.5% tip was automatically included, and when I went to pay, it was already added to the card machine without my consent! It was a rushed and unsatisfying meal, not a pleasant dining experience. I will not be returning."

The service was very slow and the food wasn't that great. I found the waiters quite standoffish because we were Asian and could understand their language but they tried to make it like they couldn't understand. I went with my parents who are in their 60's as they wanted to try out something different from home cooking. I would not go there again."

"After a busy morning of sightseeing in London for me and the last morning of a 3-day conference for David, we decided to get some steps in on our Fitbit before heading back from Baker Street to our apartment in Canary Wharf. It was around 1:45 PM when our hunger pangs started kicking in, so we began looking for a restaurant. Finding a place to eat in central London is not a difficult task, as there are many options from all over the world. However, because it was a sunny day, it seemed to have brought out the crowds, with many of the restaurants we passed by being full to capacity. It was interesting to note how lunchtime in London is much later than in the USA."

"Thoroughly disappointing! We booked at the hotel because there was a nice restaurant attached. We booked a table, when we checked in at 2pm we had our table booking confirmed for 6.30pm. Upon arrival to the restaurant it was all in darkness, a member of staff came to tell us it was closed after an emergency that had happened this morning and we could sit in the bar. The only tables available in the bar were low ones with big lounge chairs..not the seating for a meal! We don't go out very often so was planning on going all out with this meal, 3 courses, wine etc. Not at a lounge chair though. No one told us about the change to our booking. No one had reserved us a table in the bar. I went to reception desk where I was met with a very hostile member of staff who merely shrugged when I asked why no one had let us know about our booking. He didn't care. I felt really sad as like I said, going out is a rarity for us, and we were really looking forward to having a nice romantic dinner. Because of the lack of interest, and suitable seating we decided to get an Uber Eats delivered and had it in our room. Awful service. I presume the same kitchen produces the breakfasts in the morning.. which was delivered to our room over an hour late and stone cold. Such a shame as the location is stunning. Customer service needs work."

"We went in with modest expectations for a pre theatre meal and were still disappointed. "My wife and I have been here a few times over the years and always had a good experience, but sadly not this time. We decided to have lunch here on Sunday, 15 October. Although the food was good the service was very poor. One member of staff appeared to have a lot that he wanted to say to his colleagues. As they were stood within earshot of our table we couldn't help but overhear everything that was being said, which is not conducive to a pleasant dining experience. We have no interest in hearing about his latest staff appraisal, or anything else that was on his mind. We were offered the menu to choose a dessert, but even though we waited for a considerable amount of time the waiter did not return to take our order. In the end we had to interrupt the chat that was going on behind the bar to request the bill. We removed the 12.5% service charge from our bill as the service was so poor. Disappointing, as we had previously enjoyed coming here on previous visits. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back. Also, the hand dryer in the gents WC wasn't working so I would suggest leaving some paper towels out until you get it working again."

"Booked Esca on chance as it was near Glasgow Green and Barrowlands Ballroom. I was not disappointed, as we were shown quickly to our table and had prompt service.
